Here’s a new thread!

Not very helpful of the Llandeilo shop @oddandelsewhere - by contrast, Kilver Court held onto something for me for 3 days! I do find the CS in Toast shops very variable.

My new resolution is to call out poor quality or service from companies wherever I find it, so I would definitely recommend contacting CS re: your trousers. Worst case scenario, they just say there’s nothing they can do. Best case: Return for full refund.

My experience of speaking to/emailing CS is that they are quite helpful and always polite. Chat - not so much!

That's great to hear @ToastCosILoveIt . I'm glad you love them, they sound fab. I think I'll give them a go.

OftenOrange · 01/06/2025 18:14

@ToastCosILoveIt The Green linen shirt is lovely and I imagine it looks great with the checked skirt . I seem to be fixed on neutrals , I don’t think I’m very good with colour matching !

I tried it on again today with a Toast deep navy camisole type top and it looked fine . Yesterday I’d tried it with something old and it looked sad , but I think it’s the top that looked awful not the skirt !

There again those Japanese jeans you love are calling me and that would be something I’d wear a lot .

I never used to have this indecisive attitude, it would be a case of wearing something straight away with no second guessing …

ToastCosILoveIt · 02/06/2025 23:34

@OftenOrange, I try to buy (or keep) only things that as soon as I put them on I love them. Having said that, I’ve got a few slow growers, things I’m not sure about but have grown to love. That’s not really much help though is it 😌

Countmeout · 04/06/2025 09:37

@Snowyowl78 would it be possible to measure the waist of your Beyond Nine trousers please (unstretched). I am eyeing up a pair but trying to guess at the best size.

@OftenOrange the blue skirt is amazing. Is there no stock in store?

ScottishMouse · 04/06/2025 18:55

There’s a small-ish new drop on the website. Only thing taking my fancy is the Mul mul shirt, but not at over £200!!

ToastCosILoveIt · 04/06/2025 22:54

Thanks @ScottishMouse , there are a few things I like there, especially the striped Donegal tank and the pen and ink poplin blouse. Really nice to see something red too (the pleated cotton linen dress) although it looks very big on the model. The model they are using makes the clothes look very stylish.

VivienneDelacroix · 05/06/2025 00:31

There's lots I like amongst the new additions. I love the Donegal tanks, the Paintbox dresses, the dungarees, and the Still life night wear.
I'm supposed to be on a no-buy year, but my birthday is in July...so...

Countmeout · 05/06/2025 07:40

Love the pen and ink shirt. There’s a pair of brown Mary Jane with bow type shoes on a model too. They look soft as butter but weren’t online yet when I looked last night. I also like the long sleeved striped T shirt but it’s a bit expensive.

MsDastardley · 05/06/2025 10:41

I like the denim trousers. I sold my Annie’s as they bagged really badly at the knee. These are 100% cotton so maybe would be better?

@ScottishMouse love that shirt, but agree very expensive. The Paintbox dresses are £££ too. I the last full price dress I bought was the Collector, and I think it was £185, so a big increase

OftenOrange · 05/06/2025 12:07

After such a meh early Summer I’d cooled on my love for Toast , so the new drop is a nice surprise.
I like all of the pieces already mentioned .
What about their note on the Paintbox dress , ‘runs fairly big’ 😂

ScottishMouse · 05/06/2025 12:29

I passed someone on the street this morning wearing two of the new items! Perhaps someone who works at Toast. She had on the garment dyed linen wrap skirt (I think), which looked nice, a good alternative shaped skirt to the very long and full ones. She also wore the Mul mul shirt. I definitely won’t be stretching to buy that. It looked very thin and see-through and the red stitching looked like an odd craft project and cheapened the look of it imo.
Will look forward to hearing other people’s thoughts of other new things, but I don’t think I’ll be rushing to the store for anything.

faustina · 05/06/2025 14:42

Ah - I was just coming on to say I really liked that wrap skirt! It looks like the kind of thing you'd never want to take off

ScottishMouse · 05/06/2025 15:22

It does look good @faustina Not my colour (I could never keep it clean 😆), but would definitely look at it if it appeared in a darker colour.

Poplinskirt · 05/06/2025 18:47

I had also given up hope but I've placed an order !
The Pen and Ink shirt -I sized down
The Painbox dress in Delft - sized down
Indigo patch pocket skirt.

I love the shape of that wrap skirt but not the colour
Let's hope it comes in Indigo or washed black
I'm not 100% about the colours in the Paintbox dress but we shall see

MiracleToast · 05/06/2025 19:15

Hi Toasties, hope all well and enjoying the excitement of the new drop. I’m definitely interested with that navy stripe knitted tank and ecru jeans…

I have offered to help my godmother find the perfect mothers of bride outfit and I’m wondering where you all shop for occasion wear? She went to John Lewis and they put her in tutu frou frou.. I don’t think toast have anything that fit the brief and I want to show her elegant classic style. Any suggestions on brands I could check out? Sorry it’s not toast themed but would really appreciate and leads!

faustina · 05/06/2025 20:24

@MiracleToast perhaps, depending on budget or even just for inspiration she could take a look at Net-a-Porter? They have a special edit for occasion wear, wedding guest etc. Hope she finds something!

faustina · 05/06/2025 20:27

@MiracleToast - just realised she's Mother of the Bride - I had to do Mother of the Bridegroom once and it was horrific what awful things they suggested - extra big sympathy to you both!

Gonegrey31 · 05/06/2025 21:40

MiracleToast your friend might like to look at Jane Atelier, some lovely elegant plain dresses ( much nicer in real life than on website). Sale on at the moment. Then there is Shibumi Style or The Fold ?

MiracleToast · 05/06/2025 22:27

Thank you @faustina and @Gonegrey31 really helpful suggestions. Yes, I don’t think she’s finding it easy at all. I will check out these ideas.

Pen and Ink shirt -love it
I'm small busted 10/12 and the 10 is perfect.
Gorgeous poplin and the print has been aligned nicely at the front without it looking like a huge blob
Take usual size if you have a larger bust

Pocket crinkle skirt -lovely

Paintbox dress -hmmm
Size 10 plenty roomy and thank god they are back to that beautiful hip skimming cut but the colours are giving train seat vibes and I can't unsee it 😅

The ginger isn't my colours either so will hope they do a different palette for the autumn

Poplinskirt · 07/06/2025 14:36

ToastCosILoveIt · 07/06/2025 15:25

I don’t know if anyone has the Kantha Stitched Wrapover Pinafore from previous seasons. I bought it in the winter sale but its wide upper cut meant the straps constantly slipped off of my shoulders, especially when I sat down. I finally snapped and have had the shoulders altered (essentially removing a bit of the length) so that it now sits nicely when I am moving or sitting down. An example of when Toast clothes are beautiful but just something not quite right with the finish or the cut.

@Poplinskirt , lovely to hear your updates on the latest drop. That ink shirt is in my shopping basket along with the wool button up striped waistcoat.

Poplinskirt · 07/06/2025 17:02

@ToastCosILoveIt buy the shirt.
It's gorgeous !
