@mizu @IlovePond What fantastic pieces you came away with, loving it all .
The Flower Mountains were a brilliant price and I’m sure you’ll agree they are divinely comfortable.
How fun that you met in there too !

IlovePond · 12/04/2025 05:56

@Poplinskirt - I think you’ve nailed it 😹 - to be followed up perhaps by ‘dib dib dib’! 😹

Strangely enough @OftenOrange I had tried the FM trainers in that exact colour in the Bath store on Thursday and found them too big. For some reason, the sample ones seemed a better fit - possibly because I was wearing thicker socks yesterday!

I bought some Novestas in Bath only to find loads at the sale priced between £25-30, including some the same colour. However, none of them fitted as well as the ones I bought in store so I am sticking with those.

I spent a bit too much yesterday, but DH actually said he liked the coat, so that’s something!

oOo I’ve had my eye on those flower mountain trainers for a while, what a great price! Thanks both for the pictures of the sample sale, helps with my fomo. Maybe next time we can share a lift down @ScottishMouse hehe.

I’ve bought the sculptural denim trousers (with the money I got back from cancelling a wee trip away!) and I can’t help but hear the theme to The good, The bad and The ugly. Does anyone else have them and does ironing out the seam make them less John Wayne? Maybe I should just embrace the feeling…

mizu · 12/04/2025 08:50

@hicat is that the Japanese ones? They didn’t have them in my size when I was in the Notting Hill shop last weekend so I tried on the ecru ones which felt too big. I really like the barrel style but they seem to look better on everyone else!

OftenOrange · 12/04/2025 08:52

@hicat I can’t unhear that now , still want those trousers!

ScottishMouse · 12/04/2025 08:54

What a great idea @hicat 😆

hicat · 12/04/2025 09:28

I did have to size down (in no way in this world am I an 8) and yes the ecru version for me. I do love them despite the “character” quality. Kinda like the waxed Bonny hat I finally got in the sale, that’s a bit “pilgrim on the open plane”. I still adore it!

ScottishMouse · 12/04/2025 13:34

I’ve just noticed a little shop icon on products where you can check stock in stores! This is excellent (if it is accurate - I have often found that the chat will tell you one thing about whether a particular item is in stock in a particular store, then go to the store and find the opposite (in both directions)).

I ironed and then folded them differently to get rid of the line that makes them stick out at the side where they've been folded and they look lovely. A great shape.

mizu · 12/04/2025 16:12

@hicatah I had to size up, maybe that’s why! I couldn’t get the 10 past upper thighs unusually and the 12 looked too big. Maybe I’ll try again soon as I’m picking up an item that’s been mended from my local TOAST next week.

hicat · 12/04/2025 17:10

@mizu ita always worth trying on another pair if you get the chance, I do find that one size ten from another can actually vary quite a bit!

@PrincessofWells ahh exactly what I wanted to hear! I didn’t want to try ironing them before deciding to own them, but looks like they’re mine now! 😻

Bimblesalong · 12/04/2025 19:30

Do you know if you have to pay postage from stores if the size you want is out of stock online? I’ve got my eye on the long navy crinkle skirt.

Also, do any of you detectives know if I can source this dress somewhere other than Plumo (eg cheaper and direct!). www.plumo.com/products/Arleya-Dress

faustina · 12/04/2025 19:42

@Bimblesalong - that dress is exactly the same shape as a Laura Ashley dress I had when I was about 15. It was my favourite and I wore it all the time. Hope you find one!

Bimblesalong · 12/04/2025 19:44

@faustina I have the red and white stripy Hoyland dress that’s in green in this season’s Plumo. I think this arleya dress is the same shape. I wear the red and white one so much. They’re real long- time favourites.

mizu · 12/04/2025 19:57

I remember that Plumo red striped dress as it was on the website with the model wearing it under that lovely trench. I must not start perusing the Plumo website……..

IlovePond · 12/04/2025 20:14

@Bimblesalong - I think it depends on how they are feeling re: postage. It should be free for Kindred members in any case.

ScottishMouse · 12/04/2025 20:17

@Bimblesalong i have ordered from stores a few times and have always been charged about £5 for postage, even though I am kindred.

ScottishMouse · 14/04/2025 20:12

Where is everyone? I am having a very bad anxiety day. Come distract me with Toast chat!
I’m still thinking about the vneck crinkle dress, despite the thin fabric and gingham lining visible through it. Has anyone got it? Have you worn it pinafore-style too?
Anyone else get to the sample sale and have purchase news to share?
What other news??

Yorkshirelass04 · 14/04/2025 21:47

I have received my slate co ord set and it's Epic. Dare I say it's trendy! I feel powerful in it.
I also kept the brown pinafore dress, it is a lovely fit even though I have a bust.
Hope the anxiety is manageable Mouse.

ScottishMouse · 14/04/2025 22:35

Is that the waistcoat and wide leg trousers @Yorkshirelass04 ? I think that set looks amazing. Didn’t work for me, but on someone else it gets a chef’s kiss.
Anxiety is rough. It’ll pass eventually, but right now I am knee-deep. Keep the chat coming folks!

AFingerofFudge · 14/04/2025 22:50

Yep, I understand the anxiety feeling @ScottishMouse, you have my sympathy.

In Toast news, I bought the large green gingham check trousers the other day but they haven’t ventured out of the bag…….which means I am not convinced. Part of me loves them and the other part can’t get past the idea that they are pyjama bottoms!

There’s not a lot that I like really of the new stuff. I have loads to sell on the Facebook selling page but I haven’t mustered up the motivation to do it yet.

Has anyone bought anything from Rew clothing? I think I like the style, but the photos on the site are terrible and you can’t really see what they are like!

ScottishMouse · 14/04/2025 23:05

Ooh @AFingerofFudge i really like those trousers!

Snowyowl78 · 15/04/2025 03:56

@ScottishMouse I haven’t tried that dress but I do have the crinkle trousers with the gingham lining - is it the same? If so, it’s very thick but lovely material and great lining. Very comfortable.
in other news I got the Minako cashmere cotton trousers second hand the other day and they are bloody perfect. Bit small mind, I have a large and they are a good fit. Tempted to try the new linen versions - has anyone tried?

ScottishMouse · 15/04/2025 08:24

@Snowyowl78 yes, it is the same. I tried the dress and really liked it, but wanted to try the jersey easy one too, which I had to order online. That went back though, it was a bit meh, so still thinking about the crinkle one. What do you think about the weight of the fabric in summer, I wonder if it will be too heavy?
I have those cotton cashmere Minako trousers and they are one of my favourite ever purchases. So much so I was tempted to buy a second pair when I saw them pop up in the recent sale. I didn’t though. I tried the navy linen ones, but didn’t love them. The fabric didn’t drape so well I thought.

Haha, I have them but haven't worn them yet. When I do I will be thinking of that tune (thanks!).

I never iron denim so that's a no from me. I'm going to try and embrace the cowboy look.
