And thank you @Theteapotsbrokenspout for the heads up! No email alert for me yet.

faustina · 20/03/2025 14:49

@Theteapotsbrokenspout - thank you! Nothing there for me either - several jackets I would have tried a few months ago before sourcing elsewhere, and the homeware is very lacking so it's going to be a no buy one for me

neveradullmoment99 · 20/03/2025 14:56

Well i ordered the green alpaca jumper, yellow sleeveless cord dress, pink cord shirt. All 3 on my wishlist although annoyingly going out of season now.

IlovePond · 20/03/2025 14:59

Thanks @Theteapotsbrokenspout

I can recommend the rather unusual green/black beret if anyone is tempted. I would never have bought it online as it looks a bit ‘meh’ in the pictures, but I fell for its charms the last time I was at Kilver Court. It’s perfect for those of us with smaller heads!

I tried on the dark blue balaclava thingy in the York store last year. I really liked it, despite it being a) far too big, (see small head above 😹) and b) reminding me of the look I was last seen sporting as a toddler, (me and DB had matching ones in different colours!)

I am tempted to give it a go, (despite it being 20•C here today!)

I am also interested in the green cashmere jumper, but it looks awful on the model and it’s not exactly cheap at £235.

Unless I pick up yet another bauble, I think this might actually be a no purchase sale for me.

OrangeyLemon · 20/03/2025 15:33

I'm tempted by the green cashmere jumper too @IlovePond, but the model looks completely swamped and I don't know if going for a more fitted size would work. I also worry that the high neck would highlight my jowls.

Stoic123 · 20/03/2025 15:38

Saw the activity on here and guessed a sale start.

Thanks @Theteapotsbrokenspout .

I've bought another pair of wool Chups socks as I love mine & a replacement for my knackered pair of Babbi Charentaise slippers. They'll both be staying unless faulty.

Only thing I'm trying out is the Lyocell Linen dress - I was eyeing it up during the last sale and left it too late. I've little interest in curent season so, despite aiming for a low buy year, I'm giving it a go.

IlovePond · 20/03/2025 15:40

I know what you mean @OrangeyLemon

I really wanted the blue flecked cashmere that made a fleeting appearance in shops last autumn. It was spectacular, (but £395!) If this green one was the same style, I would go for it, but given how it looks on the model, I think it’s a different one.

I am on holiday (again) but we had returned to hotel for a comfort stop and the rain had come on (also again).
Nothing except a basket and the bleu de chauffe wallet which I have had on my wish list a long time. I think it is supposed to be for a man though.
Thanks for the heads up @Theteapotsbrokenspout

IlovePond · 20/03/2025 15:46

I forgot to say - that Stellar mustard boiled wool scarf is lovely irl, (although annoyingly dry clean only). If the green colourway was available I would have bought it. The only reason I haven’t snapped up the mustard is because I already have a similar Toast scarf, but in cotton.

ScottishMouse · 20/03/2025 15:47

Thanks for the heads up. I have ordered three things I have never tried so they may all end up going back - the long quilted gown, the charcoal wrap cardigan, and the navy recycled cashmere sweater.
My three favourite purchases from recently are all in the sale - the minako graph check trousers (wearing them right now), the graph check dress, and the British wool sweater (both colours are stunning, I have the Rowan, wore it yesterday).

IlovePond · 20/03/2025 15:49

Balaclava has now sold out - probably just as well!

I can also recommend the cream cotton slub jumper - it looks lovely over dresses, (I wear it over the Pond dress).

Stravaig · 20/03/2025 15:56

@IlovePond @OrangeyLemon The green cashmere jumper has been in and out of my Wish(ful thinking) List too. Gorgeous yarn, but hideous dropped shoulders - look terrible even on the model. It's a perennial though - hoping for raglan sleeves in the next incarnation.

IlovePond · 20/03/2025 16:09

It is a beautiful material @Stravaig

I am tempted to try it, but £235 is a lot of money to ‘lend’ to Toast for a jumper that would almost certainly be going straight back. I don’t have high hopes for a jumper that doesn’t even look good on the model.

I feel the same way about the space tank - both colours are beautiful but they are so short that they look ridiculously unflattering on the models - I can only imagine how awful they would look on me 😿

IlovePond · 20/03/2025 16:12

I am tempted to try again with the blue buttoned Donegal. Size M fitted great on the arms and shoulders but was ridiculously short on the body, (and I am only 5’4”!)

Thinking about trying it in a L or even XL to see if those sizes come up a bit longer, (but then it would be too big on the shoulders/arms).

OP posts:
shrinkingthiswinter · 20/03/2025 16:15

Thanks for the heads up! Against the trend I actually bought several things, but mostly replacements for clothes I've shrunk out of.

I have and love the Dobby trousers and skirt, so I'd recommend those. Also the green lyocell dress, which has generous sizing. The XL is 18/20 even with wide shoulders.

Also got some socks, and the Organic Cord Swingy Jacket in Dusty Navy to try, plus black denim skirt. Basically things that I think might suit my shape and have good reviews. Fingers crossed!

Popplebop · 20/03/2025 16:29

Thanks for the sale notification! I have ordered a cream cord shirt and the cord pear shirt with no collar. Both on my shopping list for hopefully I will keep them. I am very tempted with the Birkenstock boots but have resisted…

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 20/03/2025 16:39

I have only ordered the Hogla basket. I would have been interested in some cord Gabi's but most sizes in the Pear and Slate were oos.

CakeAndJazz · 20/03/2025 17:12

Thanks @Theteapotsbrokenspout for the alert. I’ve also managed a few things, though haven’t tried on any of it despite being on my wish list for a while. I’m assuming most will go back. @shrinkingthiswinter do you have the Dobby jacket too? I’m wondering whether it’ll be worth a try, as it looks like it could be a really nice casual, throw over any tee kind of jacket.

I’ve had to name change after being signed out of mumsnet and not being able to recover my account.

shrinkingthiswinter · 20/03/2025 17:35

No, I haven’t tried the Dobby jacket, I’m afraid . I felt like it would be a nice set on someone else, but would probably look silly on me

IlovePond · 20/03/2025 18:24

I’ve bought the navy cashmere/wool snood - I strongly suspect I have only bought for the sake of it and have no idea how the weird slits will work, but we shall see.

In typical FOMO, I am annoyed that I didn’t order the balaclava, (which I actually wanted and it’s on my wish list), plus the mustard boiled scarf, (though I really didn’t need another that colour!)

I am keeping my fingers crossed that Toast have an Easter sample sale and also that they announce it in time for me to make arrangements to go.

VivienneDelacroix · 20/03/2025 22:38

I'm really trying to resist the sale. Nothing I had in my basket is on sale, so telling myself not to buy for the sake of it.
I'm definitely here for seeing everyone else's sale purchases though.

Snowyowl78 · 21/03/2025 06:03

I’ve ordered this
https://www.toa.st/collections/sale/products/indigo-cotton-twill-dress-indigo

I don’t remember it at all the first time round but I have the jumpsuit which looks nearly the same (still on sale) so trying this too. Nice price as well!

A chest patch pocket and crossover V-neck lend a sense of ease to our cotton twill dress. Available in Indigo.

I highly recommend both the indigo pea coat and the short boiled wool coat. Also the indigo pocket shirt!

I’ve got this dress @Snowyowl78, I love it. Very flattering and it is a very good price. I paid a lot more 😩😂
I do use a teeny safety pin to preserve my modesty as it gapes at the front on me. I hope you like it.

AmethystMoonShine · 21/03/2025 07:44

I was late seeing the sale as I was out a yoga, so don’t know if I missed any gems.
I’ve ordered the black v neck crinkle dress. I have the boat neck in olive and brick and they’re great.
I’ve also ordered a few jumpers to try. I realised I’ve not bought a Toast jumper for a year…. So justified trying a few🙈 I have gone for the orange hand dyed marl, the Rowan wool and the navy cashmere mix.
Then just to try the Dobby stitch trousers and jacket/top as if these are nice they will get a lot of wear around the house. I’m very lacking in nice loungewear.
Cannot afford to keep it all though!
I did miss the dark brown Sturlini boots. I went back for those and they’d gone. I have them in black and they were eye wateringly expensive but so beautiful and such fantastic quality. I’d have liked the brown too. Still hoping the tan colour way makes it to a sale at some point as I can’t pay full price again.
I’ve surprised myself at how much I’ve bought. Really thought this would be a no or low spend sale for me.
Also very disappointed at the homeware, or maybe I missed the good bits?
