Bikini at 40??

Following a conversation with friends where everyone was talking about best tankinis and one pieces… is 40 too old to wear a bikini? I’m talking about a tasteful, well fitting one! I am 5’4” and 8 stone. Doubting myself but tankinis and shorts just feel way too frumpy!!

Wear it. No one will be vaguely interested other than you.

Bloody hell, who makes age rules? I wear mine at 53 and I don't give a monkeys. No one is looking at you and tutting.

Am in my late 40s and fully intend to wear a bikini on my next beach holiday, and will continue to do so.

I’m 41 and have had several pregnancies, and although I’m slim I definitely don’t have the body I did when I was 20, but I think it’s SO important for my daughters that I am comfortable wearing a bikini, and a swimsuit, and even one that doesn’t fit in a ‘flattering’ way! Men of all shapes and sizes wear swim shorts. I just aim to wear swimwear I like and have a strong word with myself if I start to feel like I shouldn’t.

If its for proper swimming in the local pool, agree a one piece or tankini most common. If its for hols, wear what you like, bikini, tankini, one piece, shorts etc up to you

75 and wear bikinis. If not tmi, it’s good to put dry pants on after swimming as we get older

Just ordered a new one for my next holiday and I’m older than you. DM is in her 70s and wears one. Who cares what anyone else thinks?!

Jeez, I wish I was 8stone.. ah well..just wear the bikini! I am sure there will be people of all heights and weights wearing them.

I'm 40 and feel the most comfortable in a tankini. I'll be taking a bikini, tankini and one piece on my next holiday though.

I’m 65 and a size 18. I wear a bikini on holiday. It’s simple the most comfortable thing to wear around the pool when it’s hot. Seriously, why should it be an issue?

I’m 52 and wear bikinis. Should I have been wearing one of those swim dresses for the last 12 years? I didn’t get that memo.

Anyone can and should wear one of they feel confident.
It's harder to get well fitting ones when you're a bit bigger or with larger boobs, but as long as nothing is falling out why not?
I'm in my mid 40s and would definitely wear one in summer on holiday.
There's no right or wrong with swimwear. Except men in thongs?! Lol
