A new thread to share 'shopping from our wardrobes' so we realise we already have nice things to wear and don't need to buy anything else.

@WillaDeWord swoon!
Another incredible outfit, what will you be up to wearing this one?

Princessfluffy · 23/01/2025 08:39

Here is my blue and leopard attempt!

@Princessfluffy double leopard, daring- I like it! Id be interested to see it actually on if you take real photos?

Princessfluffy · 23/01/2025 10:45

So far I haven't been taking selfies!

Cantonet · 23/01/2025 14:25

@DontNeedAnyMoreClothes the colour of that Oliver Bonas dress is beautiful. As is your birthday jumper @Netcam.
@willadeword we just expect you to look glamorous at all times now😉

I'm wearing Monochrome today with a soft lightweight Uniqlo puffer. Comfort rules, as it's cold, wet & windy here. Definitely hibernation time!
I'm so glad ds2 has walked the dog earlier.

I've managed to dig out lots of pale pink from years gone by. It used to be my favourite colour 15 years ago. Lots of silk tops & a Monsoon tissue silk blouse with the tags still on, plus a linen blazer coat that I've never worn.

I've also listed another 10 items on eBay & will try to do a few each day. I'm going to start going through my summer bags & will ebay warmer weather clothes from February.

A couple of casual day off outfits for yesterday and today. I've never actually worn the gold boots, so forced myself to make a day time outfit with them today. However a fail is that the jeans are new.
Obligatory hat too, it's so cold!

Edit, I've cropped off the boots 🤦🏼‍♀️ they're under the paler jeans!

Edited

Where's the brown jacket from please? Been looking for one like that! Is it a teddy material?

Cantonet · 23/01/2025 20:47

Princessfluffy · 23/01/2025 06:28

@WillaDeWord your outfits are incredible and super sophisticated!

@anon2022anon congrats on styling your gold boots, loving your casual style outfits

@SwishMyCape I do like this outfit - am inspired to try something similar from my wardrobe

@Cantonet I blue leoparded myself yesterday 😘

Nice 👏🏼

Cantonet · 23/01/2025 20:51

@ememem84 I'm sure warm & comforting is a priority when it comes to chemo. Though i do like the sound of your glitter outfit.

WillaDeWord · 24/01/2025 06:50

"Disco ball mini skirt" has to be one of the best clothing descriptions I have read @ememem84.

And thank you @Princessfluffy! Was in an all-day meeting, working my way through discussing a 600-page meeting pack, so basically thought I could do with cheering myself (and others gazing upon the blazer's glittery goodness) up!

You are very kind @Cantonet - today is definitely less glamorous, though everyone's leopard print is making me dig out my own.

May try blue on blue denim with leopard this weekend as you are all making it look so good.

Oh I really like the shape and colour of those jeans @WillaDeWord! Can I ask where they're from? Not going to buy them though! Just looking.

SheSawSeaShore · 24/01/2025 08:12

Just catching up after a couple of days, lovely to see so many outfits and ideas. Sending 💐 to those having a difficult start the year.

@Princessfluffy adding potential purchases to the app to see how they would work with what you already have is genius! I’m definitely going to try that.

I’ve been working my way through some less worn items in my wardrobe - the things I’ve struggled to declutter straight out of the drawer but never seem to wear. So far two pieces of knitwear have gone onto Vinted. One was a beautiful wool fairisle jumper in gorgeous colours which I loved, but just didn’t quite fit properly so I was forever fiddling with it to try and get it to sit right. Which made it annoying to wear, so I never did. I was a bit sad to see it go but no point it sitting there not being worn, and me feeling slightly irritated/disappointed every time I looked at it. Yesterday’s outfit was more successful, I was sure this dress was going to go but I actually enjoyed wearing it. Easy to throw on and comfortable to wear for WFH when I’m not feeling inspired and have had enough of wearing jeans 😆

Round of applause for the disco ball skirt!!!
Good luck with the appointments today.

Princessfluffy · 24/01/2025 08:54

@SheSawSeaShore I think it feels really good to get rid of the items that are almost but not quite right.

I had quite a big style change up last year and bought a lot of things mainly from Vinted. I feel like I can afford to be choosy about what I keep now and let the rest go back into the circular economy.

SqueakyDinosaur · 24/01/2025 09:13

Love the disco ball skirt! And I have lived in silver trainers pretty much since the end of summer - mine are Hotter, but look perfectly ok and get lots of compliments - they're incredibly versatile.

WillaDeWord · 24/01/2025 09:23

sunshinechaser · 24/01/2025 07:31

Oh I really like the shape and colour of those jeans @WillaDeWord! Can I ask where they're from? Not going to buy them though! Just looking.

Marks and Spencer, boyfriend ankle grazer jeans @sunshinechaser! I have a 25 inch waist but 39 inch hips. These actually fit and make me feel a bit more up to date too.

sunshinechaser · 24/01/2025 09:31

Thanks @WillaDeWord I ordered these online but didn't think they suited me. I think need to go into an actual Marks shop and try on lots of different sizes

TosstTastic · 24/01/2025 09:52

There's a lot of excitement on here and in life when Vinted provides the perfect 'thing'@SheSawSeaShore

I'm buying less and thinking harder. So next time I need to replace my walking but not running trainers, I might go silver. Putting it in the app wishlist rather than a shop one.

AgathaMystery · 24/01/2025 19:21

I fell off the wagon a bit! Life had been busy. I’ve purchased one item in the January sales. An asymmetric cashmere jumper. Was £200 but mine for £40. I had the same one 20 yrs ago and wore it u til 3 yrs ago when it dropped to bits. It’s a real friend.

off to update my Whering app now with all my outfits of the past few days

SqueakyDinosaur · 24/01/2025 20:01

I kind of don't count replacing something that you wore to death. You'll probably do the same with the replacement, and you already know you love it. Similarly, I have multiple variants of some garments like t-shirts because I really like the shape, the neckline, the material etc.

SqueakyDinosaur · 24/01/2025 20:01

My joy on finding on eBay a replacement for something I love that's died is very intense.

It's H&M, the brown is sold out but there are other colours. It's not lined though, so it's not warm like it looks- great for in and out the car though.
Brown jacket

Fluffy jacket - Dark brown - Ladies | H&M GB

Loose-fit jacket in soft, fluffy fabric with coated-fabric trims along the edges. Stand-up collar and button and loop fasteners with a toggle-fastener look down the front. Dropped shoulders and discreet pockets in the side seams. Unlined.

Work day outfit on Thursday (toilet selfie), wearing the gold boots again, and work from home day yesterday- topped off with my glorious velvet coat for the school run 😍 I love it, but I look like I'm wearing a duvet when it's fastened!

Love a bit of velvet @anon2022anon. I have a black Edwardian embossed velvet coat that I wear with jeans and a white shirt. It has lasted surprisingly well given how old it is. I may need to dig it out again - would probably work well with a black polo in the colder months too.

Today's outfit, now it is a bit warmer.
