I think Camilla's 'boring' style is bang on tbh. Many of us think of QE when 'the Queen' is mentioned and I don't think that will change for a lot of us. She must be aware that QE is a hard act to follow and, very sensibly, she's doing what she's good at without making the occasions about the her rather than the role.

I knew that " Wide hip " dresses were of the era ..but to see them for real was amazing .
How anyone walked in them let alone dance in them is amazing.

It's crazy isn't it, how some fashions just get extreme. Like those huge wigs as well.

I went to Windsor Castle yesterday- no dresses or real jewels, but it’s a lovely building, absolutely huge, with lots to see, and lots of really good paintings and other art. Also tombs of monarchs some with effigies, including showing jewellery - eg George V and Q Mary, Edward VII and Q Alexandra.

@PoppySeedBagelRedux that's fantastic! I'm glad you had a great time. Windsor Castle is such an interesting place, for the artwork alone.

The Monagasques were out at the Rose Ball last night. I think Beatrice and Caroline win it for me, though Alexandra is turning into quite the fashionista. Not keen on Charlene's gown as it looks only half-finished!

I love the diamond spray brooch Caroline is wearing, she has worn that few times.

I love Alexandra’s frothy pink dress, but possibly a crowded ball was not the best place to wear it! Not a fan of Charlene’s dress for the reasons KillingMeDeftly gave, but all the ladies look nice.

Beatrice is very glamorous, I like her look. Caroline and Charlotte also look good, and I like the way that Caroline is ageing quite naturally. I'm not keen on Alexandra's dress, and am in agreement about Charlene. If it didn't have that lacy cover thing it would look better. She looks beautiful, though. Well, they all do.

The video footage of Alexandra and her boyfriend was very funny - he was desperately trying not to step on her dress but wasn't successful. And to be fair to him, it was a LOT of dress!

Caroline is indeed ageing gracefully, and if she's had any work done, it's very good and subtle. Of course it helps that she always was beautiful, with the bone structure you'd expect from a daughter of Grace Kelly!

She's always been beautiful and it must be tempting to have a lot of work done to hang on to that. I agree, though, whatever treatments she's had, if any, have been very subtle.

Wow, Alexandra's Cartier necklace is worth €350k!

(According to RFP who, as predicted, is back with promises of "no more drama". I suspect the drama was mainly of her own making so let's see how long that lasts...)
