Camilla toured Charles Dickens’ home, and Fred and Mary posed for new portraits.

Aren't those their coronation portraits from last year?

KiIIingMeDeftly · 26/03/2025 21:45

Not that they really had a "coronation" but I thought those were the photos released soon after he became king.

Maireas · 26/03/2025 21:45

Camilla looks nice, at home with books. Fred and Mary look very regal, I think Deftly is right about the portraits.

Oops, yes, sorry, they were.
They’re in the news again because they’ve decided to break with tradition with a joint portrait, apparently to illustrate their stance as joint leaders, rather than King and consort.

Camilla marking ITV’s 70th birthday by visiting the set of Trigger Point.

Fred and Mary being ‘joint leaders’ isn’t quite how a hereditary monarchy works! But in my opinion Fred is a bit of a waste of space as a monarch - no work ethic or gravitas - and Mary works far more than he does although I’m not sure if that’s real service or loving the attention and the clothes budget a little too much. But regardless of the reason she is the only one keeping the show on the road so she deserves recognition for that.

I think Camilla found a simplicity dress pattern that works and sticks to it. Tis a bit difficult to comment now because it's like a uniform.

Thank goodness for our European royals who do have pizazz still 😄

Choux · 28/03/2025 08:48

Singapore state visit to Luxembourg and Maria Teresa has gone with a daytime look of sequins! Odd choice as it seems more fun than regal.

Interesting! I don't mind a bit of daytime bling, but the dark jacket thing doesn't really go.

It’s a similar uniform to the Queen who had lookalike coats in a variety of colours. But she had some hats to mix it up as well as the brooches and necklaces.

Camilla occasionally wears an interesting colour or pattern in the style but mostly it’s quite dull. And wearing a similar shade of blue in a similar cut on two consecutive days of engagements is not what we want to see! Without hats and frequently no bag there is nothing to comment on. But perhaps by mid 70s I will also have a uniform I stick to most of the time.

I wonder if MT wore that skirt to Claire’s 40th as her son (Claire’s DH) had a silver sequin suit on in the photo they released. It looked to be themed party. Perhaps MT loved how she felt in the skirt and just had to wear it again!

KiIIingMeDeftly · 28/03/2025 09:24

Apparently Claire's husband bought his sequinned suit from Shein!

That’s an absolutely stupendous necklace she has on as well. Ginormous. I agree it’s an odd look for daytime.

deeahgwitch · 28/03/2025 14:11

Not too keen on the ST’s sequin outfit for daytime in Singapore.

Francois is 2. I'm not one for gushing over other people's kids, but he is really cute. His wee dungarees 😍

It took them a while to get them. Such happy parents and lovely children. It's a joy to see.
