Longline ‘fitted’ puffer coat quest

Whosmakingdinner · 10/12/2024 16:06

Advice needed please for a ladies longline puffer coat which doesn’t make me look like Michelin man. Needs to be good guality to last for years, so I don’t mind paying more for this purchase. Ideally I’m looking for a navy colour with silver trimmings (zip and fasteners). The best ‘fitted’ one I’ve found so far is Joules Cherington but the fasteners etc are a shiny brass colour. I’m 5’8 and size 14/16 Many thanks !!

I think you'll struggle, they are out of style now.
Try outdoor shops?

Oh they are very much in style, not so much fitted, puffer, yes.

Have a look at the Rab deep cover down parka in Navy.

I tried it on and it has a lovely shape, the website photos actually don't do justice.

Rab ones are great

I would recommend the Uniqlo seamless down, long coat. Very warm, flattering and mine is now on its 4th winter and looks good as new.

I have a Superdry one. It's like wearing a sleeping bag - absolutely love it

A fitted one? Do you have a link, please?

Have you looked at Phase Eight? It’s not a shop I go to for anything else, but I am the same in that I like a puffer but with some shape. I’ve had a few from there over the years - currently have this one: https://www.phase-eight.com/product/dixie-long-fur-hood-puffer-950852050.html#cgid=coats&is=false&sz=60&start=0&isSecondPage=false&prefn1=styleType&prefv1=Puffer%20Coat&pid=950852050&pos=0 and it gets lots of compliments

I was going to say Phase 8. I have one from there and chose it due to the fitted shape.

I’ve had my Uniqlo puffer for going on 10 years and it’s only now starting to show signs of wear after a LOT of use, so would always recommend.

Navy Blue Puffer Coat - TK Maxx UK this looks nice.

NeedToKnow101 · 13/12/2024 14:11

Sorry wrong size.

Lowkey28 · 13/12/2024 15:30

Karen Millen have so many lovely coats like this, I typed Puffer into the search bar and some beautiful ones came up

GripeOfTheDay · 13/12/2024 19:55

Am a comfortable size 16 myself but found this one in Tk maxx recently. Incredibly warm and very slimming for a puffer coat...

I bought one at half the RRP in the Tog 24 sale.
The Tog 24 jackets I’ve had before have been good quality, great value and lasted years. I just throw them into the washing machine and they come out looking like new.
You’ll find them online, and they’re a British company in the north of England.

I wanted a fitted puffer this year. I bought a Hobbs one which was ok. Wish I had read this thread before, as there are far nicer ones posted here!

This is the one I recommended - it’s really a nice coat i agree

Are these Tresspass Audrey coats true to size? I am usually an 8.

chalkyc2 · 13/12/2024 22:50

Late to this one but on the high street today and looking for similar the best I saw was the good move one in M&S (none of the other m&S versions were fitted) - really nice slim fit but for £140 I wasn't that sure it would be very warm - and only in black - and the Uniqlo seamless down one that does come in navy/ dark green and is more substantial.

I'm tempted by Uniqlo!

I'm not into anything belted or embellished with accessories...

Same question - Trespass Audrey - fit to size? Or should I get size up?

This coat seems to have had more votes than any other!

Wiselass · 14/12/2024 19:23

I have the Canada Goose Marlow coat. I can't remember how much it cost, it wasn't cheap somewhere around £1300, but it's been worth every penny.

True to size I would say. I wore mine when pregnant and it did stretch enough to zip up though!
Im an 8, it fits nicely.

I had been thinking of this one too, is it really warm? Needing one for football

Sziasztok · 15/12/2024 13:40

@Marszu7 I have that Lands End one and it’s really warm! I think they say it’s good for temperatures down to -20. They have 25% off at the moment, so quite a reasonable price. It also seems to be quite water resistant. It was snowing slushy wet snow the other day and it just shook off when I went indoors.

Devilsmommy · 11/12/2024 14:39

Trespass Audrina in navy blue. Look on the m&m website, you'll get it cheaper than retail price. I've got the navy one and it's the best coat I've ever owned and it's fitted like you want

Trespass coats are well cut and shapely. I’ve got the Phyllis - it’s very flattering.
Feather and down, warm and water resistant.

doodleschnoodle · 15/12/2024 17:21

@Marszu7 Yes, very warm. I bought it during that freezing spell we had a few weeks ago when my current coat wasn't cutting it!

NanLyn · 21/12/2024 18:24

Roman have one in midnight blue on their website.
