A question or 2 about "Knickers" to the mature women amongst us!!

  1. Do women in their mid fifties still wear thongs??
  2. For those of us who dont anymore, do you still wear knickers that still look a bit sexy so to speak? Or has that gone out the window now?

I have a few thongs knocking about, I only wear them occasionally if I’m wearing something quite tight.
I only buy either plain white, nude or black knickers and only from M&S. I bought 3 new bras this summer again from M&S and they were white, nude and black. I can’t do with the hassle of trying to match things up. I find ‘fancy’ knickers show too much under clothes, unless I’m wearing something very baggy and layered. Or they give me thrush.
I completely agree about men’s underwear too. Unless dh is wearing scratchy, nylon, bits of lace which ride up his arse crack then neither am I.

I like cotton midi shape but M&S stopped doing them. I've got some nice microfibre no vpl for under tight things. I'm quite skinny so not much bum coverage needed. I'm 60+ and have never worn a cheese wire thong, I don't like the idea of it up my bum all day.

M&S midis are still available. They have been rebranded as high rise shorts. Exactly the same and still very comfy.

Oh thanks! I just thought they'd discontinued them. I'll investigate.

I don't like the thought of a thong. Let's be honest here - it's a small strip of material which is pulled tight into your arse. They can't be very clean 🤮

IDontHateRainbows · 23/10/2024 03:42

They're known as germ slides aren't they?

willowstar · 23/10/2024 05:06

I am 50 and have just started wearing thongs again after significant weight loss and separation from my husband. I feel good in them. Hadn't worn them for 15 years since I had my daughter.

MabelMora · 23/10/2024 07:43

I'd never heard of Wirapa until this thread but the reviews are great on Amazon. Just wondering, I'm a 16 - what size would be best for me? XL? (I don't like snug knickers!)

Barney16 · 23/10/2024 07:50

I wear boy shorts. I really love them. I bought a multi pack off Amazon and then another. I'm a convert. Originally bought them to wear under running shorts but now wear them all the time.

KirstenBlest · 23/10/2024 08:07

The advantage of shorts is that they don't end up in your bum-crack. I have some from Primark and they are fine apart from they are not brilliant quality and my local store only seems to stock larger sizes

This.. and your lady bits. The cleanest person would reek at the end of the day.

rainfallpurevividcat · 23/10/2024 11:37

So what? You change your pants every day. It's not an issue.

Papyrophile · 23/10/2024 16:28

Nearer 70 than 60, and I like thongs... always have done.

It is to most on this thread 😆

wiesowarum · 23/10/2024 18:17

I've never really got on with thongs tbh and I also hate anything remotely slippery or lacy against my skin - it's always been comfort as first priority for me. 😬

Agreed, even if you change them at least once a day. Pants are also supposed to provide a barrier layer between your body parts/secretions etc and your next layer of clothes. Thongs don't really do that. 🤢

Exactly. A thong is nothing like a pair of pants.

rainfallpurevividcat · 23/10/2024 19:14

The ones I wear do provide enough cover. Brazilian, not a g string.

Ottobeak · 23/10/2024 19:22

I do wear thongs, but to avoid vpl, not to look sexy, which imo they don't...on anyone, no matter how young and beautiful.

itisafuckinggoat · 23/10/2024 19:43

Thongs? You mean giving yourself a wedgie voluntarily?

Hard no here

KirstenBlest · 23/10/2024 19:53

I change my knickers every time I have a shower, which is before I get dressed in the morning, after I've been to the gym, when I come home from work, before I have sex, and after sex, and before bed. Doesn't everyone?

UnimaginableWindBird · 23/10/2024 19:56

I don't think I've ever worn a thong! I'be been a sensible underwear person my whole life.

No. Why change your knickers before sex? Isn’t it easier with them off?

Up to 6 pairs a day? Erm no!

KirstenBlest · 23/10/2024 20:04

@User1836484645R , I don't know, never tried. Would taking my tights off help too?

@BitOutOfPractice , more than 6. I sometimes go to the gym more than once...

BitOutOfPractice · 23/10/2024 20:06

In that case no, everyone doesn’t @KirstenBlest because that’s massive overkill.
