Very excited to be creating this thread to discuss the Pelegrims subscription box - my first one arrived today!

40 mins after I ordered the Facial Treatment Gel, Pelegrims have sent an email saying they’re offering 10 of them for £10 each (1 per customer). I guess my timing was unusually on point although obviously I expect they’ll only send me 1, which is fair enough, as I didn’t even see the restriction on quantities. I actually thought maybe they’re discontinuing and that’s why it’s so heavily reduced and stocked up as I love the stuff! 🙄

Was about to say it was a10 for £10 special then read your second message. I've found the gel a bit lightweight for me but I'll persevere.

@BeaLola I love the glass jar/bottle, I've not trotted the pomade long term yet.

HundredMilesAnHour · 27/08/2025 10:18

I just can’t find my work mojo today so here I am on MN when I shouldn’t be. 🙄

Just to update you all that the lovely lovely people at Pelegrims (or rather Jerome specifically) emailed me about my 4 x £10 order. I replied and explained what had happened (i.e. that I’m an idiot) and said it was fine to just send me 1 bottle and I hadn’t intentionally wanted to deprive other people of a bargain. He was so lovely and has sent me 4 bottles anyway!!! I realise that’s a huge saving for me and I’m delighted and embarrassed all at the same time. I’m blown away by both the generosity and the loveliness. And very much by the personal touch. I’m going to write them a fabulous review. If only I could feel this passionate about my work today. 😊

As for hand cream @BeaLola I love it in both forms. The pomade is much heavier and I tend to use it more as a foot cream actually (but my hands get the benefit when applying it to my feet) and the glass jar hand cream is just wonderful. As per my earlier post, I was sold on Gloved hand lotion (and hand wash) and I have a regular subscription to that but the Pelegrims glass bottle has usurped that. I do also really like the Wildsmith hand lotion and hand wash but in order of preference I rank them Pelegrims, Gloved, Wildsmith. Which translates into bedroom, bathroom, kitchen in my flat in terms of where they live. Once I’ve used up my current stash, I’m expecting I will stick to just using the Pelegrims hand cream and probably the Gloved hand wash (unless Pelegrims hand wash takes over as favourite - I haven’t opened it yet).

@Cyclingmummy1 @HundredMilesAnHour

I did receive an email about the gel but by the time I saw it the offer was sold out - however it was a lovely thing to do and makes me like them just even more
One thing that confused me (doesn't take a lot) was it said something about if you had a box subscription you had 15% off the range ????

I'm finding it hard to use up my other goodies /stash of stuff without buying anything more

At the moment I have a Wildsmith handwash in my en-suite which im liking but not enough as the Pelegrín's and I have a Wildsmith facial spray which I like a lot on first time using.

That was incredibly generous of them @HundredMilesAnHour - but you are a good customer 😆

I'd like some more facial balm once I've finished the various samples in my cupboard and I'd love to try the diffuser but it's spendy.

The best handwash IMO was the citrus one in one of the early Haeckels boxes.

I had also forgotten that we got 15% off the range and haven't used it for my orders. I emailed Pelegrims to ask what the code was and now I just have to remember to use it. I tried my Wintreow perfume this morning but I'm so full of cold I can't smell a thing.

BeaLola · 27/08/2025 16:21

Would the code by within my box or my initial email set up ?

It’s on the paper newsletter that comes up with the box but I’ve just PMed it to you.

Thank you HundredMilesAnHour. FlowersFlowers

I hadn't read the bumph yet as the box arrived not long before my holiday so I packed it away somewhere safe.

I think I've joined just as they have lots of new things eg deodorant, bath foam.

Maybe all my difficult to buy from people will get Pelegrims for Christmas (?)

Cyclingmummy1 · 11/09/2025 20:56

Finally opened the SPF today and disaster! Foolishly, I expected it to be a cream as it was in a tube so got a shock when it poured out into the back of my hand, dribbled off and dripped into my bathroom cupboard which is under my sink and was open.

I quite liked the product though it had an odd initial smell.

HundredMilesAnHour · 12/09/2025 09:32

@Cyclingmummy1 I’m just jealous you needed SPF yesterday. I mainly needed an umbrella. 😂

I'd been using the Haeckels SPF oil as a primer @HundredMilesAnHour and was honing the Pelegrims SPF might take its place. It hasn't so far. It's like winter this afternoon, SPF weather has left the building.

I lit the candle last night. It was nice, a bit of rose, and not over powering.

Cactusali · 23/09/2025 15:43

Have tried to love the perfume but I just can’t. It smells somehow ‘hot’ and is very one note. No layering of fragrance or lovely dry down. A huge disappointment.

Fedupandstressed · 25/09/2025 21:43

I bought the journalist box this morning. Had the email,on Monday to say that they were taking it off sale by Tuesday night and I emailed them asking to hold one back as it’s my payday today. Lovely reply from Jerome. And it’s on its way now.

Jerome is a star. Such a lovely man. I wrote a review on their website recently and mentioned him and he sent me such a nice email thanking me. The personal touch counts for a lot.

I really wish I could go to their Fri open evening but getting to Canterbury late on a Fri afternoon would be the drive from hell for me (I’m in central London and where I live will be gridlocked) and because I’d be driving I wouldn’t even be able to have a drink to get over the trauma!😫

I agree their personal touch is lovely and I hope however successful they become it stays that way - I'm definitely looking forward to trying more stuff

  • for those of you who have tried the below what did you think :

Facial serum
Treatment gel

😘

BeaLola · 26/09/2025 11:42

Oops meant to also ask about the sheet mask too , TIA

HundredMilesAnHour · 26/09/2025 11:43

@BeaLola I use the treatment gel before bed every night so I’m definitely a fan! I also like the facial serum but I only use it in the depths of winter as my skin can be quite oily/acne prone so I’m very careful with serums, heavy moisturisers etc.

Thank you

So far I've only tried the standard facial oil which I love but was thinking of getting the other 2 items - I am definitely a fan - wish I had found out about them before - only discovered this summer having used the hand cleanser in a lovely pub and then looking them up when I got home

Were you at The Sportsman by any chance @BeaLola ?

@HundredMilesAnHour

no I wasn't - we keep meaning to go there but have never made it - is it as good as they say ?

  • I was having drinks at The Five Bells in East Brabourne

I really like the treatment gel and use it daily but I find the oil and balm quite heavy for my oily skin. Maybe it would better suit dry skin. I'm not a fan of sheet masks as I don't like the feel of them but I know that some people love them. I wonder what's going to be in the next box?

Ah, interesting to hear of another pub that uses Pelegrims hand cleanser.

The Sportsman is absolutely worth it! Incredible food, and I love that the mark-up on the wine is unusually low so you’re not being ripped off by them. It’s also super relaxed there and the staff of course are lovely. One of my favourite places. I took visiting family there for lunch recently and they were blown away at how good it was but also how comfortable and non-Michelin star snotty (if that makes sense). I also understand from Jerome that they are long time supporters of Pelegrims and it’s one of the owners who makes the ceramics for their candles.

@HundredMilesAnHour that's great to know - will definitely put it on our list to go to soonest.

Looking forward to trying some more Pelegrims .

Cyclingmummy1 · 26/09/2025 19:48

I'm on the fence re the treatment gel. I'm not sure of its purpose.

I love the sheet mask. But I adore a mask ❤️
