Very excited to be creating this thread to discuss the Pelegrims subscription box - my first one arrived today!

I won't receive my box before I go away for a week but please discuss it before then. I hate surprises and have already tried googling to see if I can find out what the contents are!.😀

Oh bless you @nicnicspicnic 😍

I think mine has arrived. As soon as my current call finishes (just a recorded presentation on our latest quarter results from the Group CEO hence me scanning MN while listening ha), I will pop outside and investigate.

Haha, DH is doing much the same. Whilst silently running the obligatory training update on a third screen 😉

I have my box! @Fedupandstressed have you received yours yet?

OP posts:
Fedupandstressed · 01/08/2025 21:05

Yes. But it has tea! Only 3 bags, but still…… Giving it to my sister. Not a great box for me overall. Are we allowed to discuss yet, or are we still waiting on arrivals?

I think we’re good to go as it’s just you, me and @Cyclingmummy1 as @nicnicspicnic has given us the green light since she’ll be away.

I’m going to keep it for the next 2 boxes and then I think I’m out as that takes it to the New Year. I think it’s a me thing though. I love the face oil, balm, hand cream and cleanser. I would have loved the toner. The candle is so strong, even unlit and I can see it inducing a headache. Haven’t tried the spf yet, but it’s not really a luxe item in my mind as it’s such a basic everyday item to me. And I don’t mask.

I got the travel essential set with balm and face oil when we had the voucher as they are definite favourites, I have them next to my bed and it’s such a lovely soothing ritual. Then the hand cream which has done wonders in preventing my elbows looking like human croissants. 🥐
Candle is going to my mum for a birthday pressie and I will try the mask, but I’m not hugely optimistic as I hate clagginess on my face.
SPF will be used though, but I wish we’d had a conditioner ( we already had the shampoo) or handwashing.
But none of this is their problem, just personal preference.

Lusting after the journalist edit though 😂 and

HundredMilesAnHour · 03/08/2025 09:57

Sitting on my sofa with my coffee relaxing so finally have time to post. I love a slow starting Sunday morning (although I can hear the local boy racers revving in the background so looks like the nice quiet start to the day is about to end).

I’m pretty happy with the box. It’s definitely good value for money! I did chuckle at the tea bags though and immediately thought of this thread as I gave them a sniff and pulled a face.

I love a candle, especially one with a strong throw so @Fedupandstressed ’s feedback on it has got my hopes up. I’m slightly very obsessed with my home smelling nice and have Neom wireless diffusers pumping out essential oils in every room (including a diffuser on both sides of the bedroom) and even my car.

I haven’t used a mud mask in a while (the last one was a Haeckel full size that I bought after we got a sample sent in that box and I liked it) so looking forward to trying this one. I was sad to have missed out on the £10 offer so this makes up for it.

I already have the SPF lotion but haven’t tried it at all as I haven’t left the country this year so not really needed extra SPF (I already have SPF 15 / 30 in my skincare / make-up). I used to travel a lot excessively but I’m going through a ‘home is where the heart is’ nesting phase for some reason. In fact my passport expired last month and I haven’t even bothered renewing it (mainly because I’m too lazy to get a new photo done, or just too lazy full stop). I was on the verge of a passport panic as work looked like they were going to have me commuting to France / Switzerland at short notice for a client project but the client couldn’t afford me 😂so problem solved and still no passport.

I’m really loving Pelegrims so far. I love love love the facial cleanser. Just opened a new one last night actually. And the hand pomade is fantastic. I will be slathering it on my hands and feet this afternoon when I watch F1. I love the facial balm too but only use it at night in colder weather as my skin is quite oily so it’s a bit heavy for me in summer. Facial oil is also good and I gave some to my cousin to try recently. I gave her one of the little summer travel kits when she was down visiting me. We went for lunch at The Sportsman in Seasalter and I got really excited when we saw they had Pelegrims hand wash in the Ladies there.

So I’m a happy camper. Which makes a change. 😂

Great review @HundredMilesAnHour

I thought this month's box was great value, sniggered at the tea (which is fine - if you like herbal teas), and sniffed the air for a couple of hours after unpacking the calendar.

I bought the SPF and haven't used it yet as the Haeckels SPF oil has lasted a lot longer than I thought it would. I like an SPF15 in the winter so am stocked up.

There's one application left in my Espa mud mask so looking forward to this one.

The only product I'm not as keen on is the cleanser, everything else has been fab. Love the lip balm but wouldn't pay the full price.

If you like diffuser oils, FreckleFace are a good one to try.

My plan for the day is to dodge the rain to take two Vinted parcels. The printer wasn't working last night so need to try the other shop. Then, tidy my craft room, finish some slver clay that's drying out at the minute, make a bag from some vintage fabric and half watch the GP. We went to Hungary a couple of years ago; it was cheaper than going to Silverstone!

nicnicspicnic · 10/08/2025 17:31

I've just got back after a week away - leaving the teenage sons behind. And the house smells a bit weird so the candle was really useful. (That's your advert Pelegrims!] I tried the spf today and it smells very chemically. I'll try it again - but not convinced. But I did like the mud mask as it made my skin feel very smooth.

HundredMilesAnHour · 11/08/2025 10:31

@nicnicspicnic your post made me realise that I still haven’t tried any of the products in my box. Honestly I don’t know what’s wrong with me at the moment. I need to get a grip. 🤦‍♀️

Note to self: light the candle tonight. Hopefully it doesn’t smell of teenage boys too strongly.

I’m working from home today so I might stick the mud mask on before I have a shower at lunchtime. Although last time I put a mask on when wfh, it was like work sensed it and I was invited to a Teams video meeting within seconds. 😂

I forgot to add (haven’t had my coffee yet today so even more brain dead than usual), what do you all think of the Pelegrims perfume email? Shame we didn’t get a sample in our box.

OP posts:
Cyclingmummy1 · 11/08/2025 10:41

I'm not a perfume person but would have liked a sample to see what the fuss is all about 🤣

I've not used anything either. Finished my Espa mask last night so will open the new one next week. Might swap to the candle tomorrow as I'm out this evening.

I'm not a perfume person but I feel like I should be so i ordered 10ml of the perfume. I like unisex, fresh scents and hate sweet smells. I'll let you know what it's like when it arrives.

Ooh interesting! Yes please let us know what you think.

You’d hate my taste in perfume as I’m addicted to vanilla so that puts me very much in the sweet camp. Currently using Fugazzi Vanilla Haze. Prior to that it was Saltworks Tabac Soleil but I have a vast collection of perfume from Goldfield & Banks (almost their entire range) that I always go back to. I discovered them in Sephora in Adelaide quite a few years ago and have been overly attached ever since. I guess that makes me a perfume person. 😂

Actually you might like Goldfield & Banks as it’s all unisex (I think!). You can get some of their perfumes in Harrods but I order from their European website. Ships from France but if you email them the receipt for any customs duties you have to pay, they will refund you it all (by direct bank transfer). Which is pretty damn generous of them.

I agree a tiny little sample in the box would have been great

It's my first box - I have only tried the spf which I don't like at all but it wouldn't have been a product I would choose to buy from them

HundredMilesAnHour · 12/08/2025 10:23

I tried the candle last night. It was ok. Not unpleasant but didn’t wow me enough to think I’ll rush out and buy one.

Doesn’t feel like the weather for a mud mask so that’s still waiting to be tried. Instead I’m using a 111 Skin mask which is more gel like so lovely and cooling in this weather.

Welcome to “box land” @BeaLola. 🎉

Back again. I am LOVING the Pelegrims hand cream so much that I’ve relegated my bottle of Gloved hand lotion to the bathroom and the Pelegrims hand cream is now in the priority next to the bed spot. 😂

Thank you HundredMilesAnHour

I'm sitting on my hands and am not using anything else yet as I've loads of other open products to use

So far I've used the hand cleanser - love it, the facial oil- also love it, and the facial spf- really dislike

I am interested to know what you all think of the products that I think I would like to try next ...

Hand cream
Facial balm
Face spray

And had anyone tried the perfume /cologne yet ?

Mine is down to the last dregs. I can't justify buying more when I've at least 3 bottles of other (inferior) hand cream in the cupboard. My only criticism is that the tube on the pump didn't go right to the bottom.

The facial balm is gorgeous. I finished it last week and need to finish all the samples I have before buying anything more.

The spray mist is nice.

The hand cream is, I think, my favourite product so far.

I've still not used the SPF as last year's Haeckels is lasting forever 😳

The mud mask was really tingly.

HundredMilesAnHour · 24/08/2025 17:49

I don’t know if any of you use the Facial Treatment Gel (it’s not been in a subs box) but I really like it and use it every night. It’s usually £65 but for some reason Pelegrims are selling it for £10 at the moment! I found out by accident when I was merrily surfing away this afternoon so I just ordered 4!

I haven’t tried the mist or SPF yet. I liked the mud mask when I tried it. Curious to see if it lasts better than the Haeckels one as their pot dried up fairly quickly so it wasn’t useable for as long as I would have expected.

I love the facial balm and the facial oil but I only use them in winter as my skin is quite oily, especially in summer.

The perfume doesn’t appeal but you never know. I do like to change my mind. 😂

HundredMilesAnHour · 24/08/2025 18:10

40 mins after I ordered the Facial Treatment Gel, Pelegrims have sent an email saying they’re offering 10 of them for £10 each (1 per customer). I guess my timing was unusually on point although obviously I expect they’ll only send me 1, which is fair enough, as I didn’t even see the restriction on quantities. I actually thought maybe they’re discontinuing and that’s why it’s so heavily reduced and stocked up as I love the stuff! 🙄

Thanks @HundredMilesAnHour I've just ordered some of the Facial Treatment Gel and some more hand pomade. Items that I've had in the subscription boxes and have since reordered are - hand pomade, facial cleanser and facial balm. The only item I've used once and probably won't use again is the spf which had a really weird smell. I'm away again and have missed my perfume delivery but I'm looking forward to trying that when I get home.

BeaLola · 24/08/2025 19:57

Those of you like the hand cream is it the pomade or the cream in the glass jar ?

The facial spf definitely too much of a white case on me and is only factor 15
