We still have 2 months to go so there's still time for dilemmas, decisions and discounts.

We have a few coming out this week including John Lewis, OK and No7. I'm still WAC (without advent calendar) but that may soon change!

@OvaHere I had a grümm set from the Martin Lewis website promotion for a £5 recently. I like the face wash bar very much - my skin looks really good since I've been using it. Also really liked the shower gel. But agree the packaging isn't great.

I've had some awful stuff from Gruum! I'm with Vodafone and they come up quite a lot on the offers, so you can get a bundle of stuff if you only pay P&P. I always get suckered in, but don't really rate them. In the last bundle there was a shower gel bar that didn't foam or do anything other than leave an oily film on the skin. And a roll on SPF lip balm that was white, like something a cricketer would wear!

I very rarely throw out beauty products as I can usually find some use for them but both of those went straight in the bin

I've bought the Lynx one from Boots for a 17 year old. Quite a good mix apart from toiletries. It's huge!

Space NK now showing a 'Notify me when back in stock' message so perhaps there are more coming. It does seem very early to be sold out!

Hello everyone just making it to the new thread

Can anyone advise which fragrance calendar will be the best value, HN or Snk .

Still debating if I should get a calendar - probably LF - or just buy some discovery type kits from brands I'd like to try and make my own using an old box. I was given a French beauty box type gift at the weekend which could be the starting point for making my own. Plus i will be away for the last week if the calendar so only actually need 18 days.

I have found some Eve Lom, Byoma, Sunday Riley and Dermologica sets plus some Ren favourites I could get.

What are the skincare brands that really appeal to you in the calendars you are buying? You might give me more choice of sets to make my own calendar.

Not Skin Rocks 😂 @Choux ones I’m looking forward to are Votary, WildSmith. A brand I really like that doesn’t feature in ACs is Suqqu, and they often do GWP in store. I think Dermalogica, Medik8 and NIOD are really effective. Summer Fridays is a good lower price point brand too. I recently got the Liberty Founder’s Edit and the Reome serum is nice. Cult Beauty advent is out of stock again. I am sure CB was one of the last to sell out last year so wasn’t expecting it to go out of stock by the beginning of October.

I hadn't seen those Selfridges boxes and I have been mooching on the site for the last week as for some strange reason I am a VIP with free delivery so I just have to take them up on that offer 🤣

The first couple of years CB went in about an hour. I remember pouncing on it the moment it went live hiding my phone under the table in a meeting.

@pinkchampagne1 The first year it was released it sold out in under two hours and the website crashed! So many people were disappointed that they didn't get one.

Advents weren't necessarily better back then, but they were a bit of a novelty, there was less competition, and lots more hype!

I don't know whether brands produce more these days to meet demand.
