We still have 2 months to go so there's still time for dilemmas, decisions and discounts.

We have a few coming out this week including John Lewis, OK and No7. I'm still WAC (without advent calendar) but that may soon change!

I think it's probably meant to be Sol de Janeiro

Is that the standard AC? It's saying dispatch on 15th Nov on the website - maybe that is for orders placed today and ones placed previously are ahead in the queue?
Very confusing all this staggered despatching and puts me off ordering if I have to wait.

I had an instagram video on my feed offering the SpaceNK calendar for £30 through a company called Factory Outlet. On the basis that it looks too good to be true I didn’t complete the purchase - has anyone else come across this?

I was disappointed in the CB edits, although I suspect that's just because I've got so many beauty products and have tried so many of the contents already.

I am extremely proud of myself for managing to go to CB site, go as far as putting an edit in my basket, trying code which worked and almost converting my £5 credit which has taken an age to build up hence almost getting one for £22 before having a Very Stern Word With Myself that I have enough stuff right now to open a bloody shop.

And I resisted

I’m resisting the CB Edits as well. Hard though! I deleted the email pretty quickly. Still went and had a look!

I was not as restrained as either of you and picked up the Chic one, if I don’t like the lipstick colour I will sell it on and looking forward to trying the cleansers in the edit. The other two did not grab my attention.

I didn't think they were particularly very good. The sizes of most products were very small.

I'm getting more savvy now about sample sizes and what 5, 10 or 15 ml's actually look like it reality.

It's been fine mostly this year because I'm new to upping my mature skincare game and trying out stuff is part of that but I think by next year a lot of the calendars and edits will hold less appeal. Finding 25ml of Sol De Janeiro body cream interesting is a one time deal.

Talking of ubiquitous products I tried my sample of AB The Rich Cream last night. I've been saving it until the central heating went on and my skin gets very dehydrated. Never have I been so disappointed in a product - the word rich is extremely misleading. I'll use it until it's gone but I found an hour after applying I needed to layer a different moisturiser to not feel dry. So no longer will I look at AC's, Edits or GWP's that have Augustius Bader in them and think oooh. Officially de-influenced! 😂

On that note I think it could be fun to have a continuation of these threads from January where we report back what's actually been good and what the disappointments were.

Please don't buy anything through Instagram.
A few posters ordered through there last year or beginning-of this year, I can't remember when, from what looked exactly like Space nK website, heavily discounted AC. Instagram didn't do anything about stopping the fake adverts and I don't think Space NK could do anything to remove these either.

To add my Shisheido AC arrived. I'm planning to save this one for December. I can report the GWP did arrive with it. It's much smaller than the photo seems on the website and not as nice. It was free though so can't complain too much. Those of you who couldn't get the GWP to work haven't missed out on anything amazing.

I’ve never had a fancy advent calendar before, and I’ve been trying to use up all my toiletries etc and only rebuy the ones I love. But I’ve somehow bought myself a rituals advent calendar 😳. I don’t think it was the best value calendar out there but at least I know I like it all!

Disappointed that Fenwicks took my Clinique GWP out of the basket when I checked out - still I managed to get the estee lauder blockbuster plus the festive beauty bag along with some clinique and estee products. Not quite as good value as at first, but I had my heart set on the fenwicks goodie bag and the AC wasn't doing it for me. I have especially got my eye on the escentric molecules black tea.

Just joined this topic so I’ve only read thread 4. I’m loving the excitement!
I’ve just received my LF calendar, and was planning to open it traditionally one per day in December. Should I check it’s all present and correct? Has anyone had a problem with bits missing? I’ve read a few scary stories about them elsewhere.

I was asking about this before as I think a few people had received. I have advent calendar but no Gruum free gift. Customer services are driving me demented constantly saying they have e mailed me a voucher when they haven't so I'm going round in circles. They say there is a code or voucher and then you have to contact Gruum and pay p and p! Strange Free gift and I don't remember this being said!

Ooo is it lovely? Mines been delivered but I’m still at work, very much looking forward to seeing it. Am going to be restrained and save mine until December too. I’ve also got the Harrods 12 day hair and body, I might crack and ‘have’ to open that early…

I've not looked closely. Just had a sneak peak in the box to see if the GWP was included. This and Rituals are the only ones I'm going to open as a proper advent so trying to stay away from it. 😄

Regarding the glossy box free gift. I received an email with a code for the grunm free gift. I'm not keen on their products so I deleted the email as you had to pay p & p.

My Flannels fragrance cracker has just arrived. It's a bit squished but I don't suppose it really matters. I've just got to make myself out it away until Christmas Day now ☺️

@Twinsandsome - I meant Sol de Janeiro, (which, apparently, I always call Rio de Janeiro 🙈

@Growlybear83 - I would complain to Flannels - damaged packaging at that price point isn’t acceptable. They may give you a small refund on the price you paid.

Sephora is here and it's huge and heavy: am resisting opening it

I think it was ASOS that were having problems with items being packed upside down/open/squeezed - clearly some problems in packing there.

I’ve not heard of any issues with LF but it’s not a bad idea to check.

I had things missing from H&B and M&S once that I only discovered on the day. H&B CS were great, M&S were a nightmare!
