Do people still bother with eyeshadow?

I have so many eyeshadows from beauty advent calendars, GWPs etc, but they take forever to use up and I hardly ever hit pan.

But when I look around at other women in shops, at work, out and about etc it seems not many bother with eyeshadow anymore. And yet they're always in beauty boxes. Actually it seems people wear less make up than they used to, I feel a bit of an anomaly wearing make up when I go to the office.

Is it just a thing people wear on nights out/special occasions these days? I don't go to many of those so unsure...

I wear it fairly often, but i think the trend is for quite subtle eyeshadow

I wear make up every day but never eyeshadow, it’s never looked right on me as my lips are naturally very red so whatever colour eyeshadow I use I just look like a drag queen.

I think generally now people prefer eyeliner or a winged eyeliner, it’s annoying that they still put them in calendars but it’s probably an inexpensive filler

I do think its kinda on the way out. I used to like it but it always smudges everywhere on me and ends up in the crease of my eye or I end up with bits of glitter all over my face. I also dont like that bits of it seem to end up in my eye. I much prefer a nice winged eyeliner now- it doesnt smudge or end up half way across my cheek!

I wear it but not daily. I usually wear it if I need a confidence boost or need to look a bit more put together. I don't do anything dramatic though. I'm 39

I do have permanent eyeliner that I love though. I'll put some individual lashes on for a night out but that's about it.
Im 59 though.

I only see it discussed on MN. I haven’t worn eyeshadow this century, and don’t see it being worn by anyone around me, either for work or play.

(Very occasionally I might see someone very glamorous with a line of something bright pink or turquoise drawn artfully somewhere around their eyes - but it’s not eyeshadow.)

I do. If I'm going out, I wear eyeshadow and liner. I'm 54

I always do. If I don't, my eyes/eyelids look very red and it looks a bit odd. It's very subtle though.

I always put a very light shade over my eyelid and then smudge a dark colour in the outer corner. Eyeliner too if appropriate.

I think people just wear browns and neutrals now so you don't see it so obviously? Otherwise I'm totally not down with the kids.

I always wear make up but never eye shadow.

I do most days though it's quite subtle and not nessarily obvious. Still takes ages to use it up though.

Oh wow I do for work, it's a very pale brown type shade though so not sure if anyone notices...... suppose that makes me quite old!

My eyelids are so saggy and hooded now I don't know how best to apply it, so I don't bother. :-(

I always wear a light cream shadow every day because otherwise my lids are a bit red. I'll use a slightly stronger colour if I'm going out.

Either very natural, just one shade or dark or just liner. It reminds me of early 2000s makeup! The intricate or colourful eyeshadow look, cut creases etc is pretty dated now (obv people should wear what they like)

I use it most days, but it's very neutral and not glittery or shimmery, it just gives me a bit of definition and stops my face being just all one colour.
I could never get the hang of blusher, but eyeshadow works for me.

I didn't for years but over the past few I've started wearing it, but very subtle - literally a shadow. It does make me look better.

I've never looked to see if other random people are wearing it 😄 My 17 year old daughter wears it though, plus dramatic eyeliner.

God, me too. I think I mainly like them because they look like paint palettes.

There's load on websites/in chemists though so someone apart from me and thee must be buying them.Maybe teens?

I wear eyeshadow because if I catch sight of myself later in the day I like how my eyes look (from behind my glasses) if they have a bit more makeup on. That said, I'm the only woman I know who wears much make up at all.

I do yes but literally I just use one eyeshadow, which is a lovely warm smokey brown colour.

My DD20 wears shed loads when she goes out ..I love it but would not always wear it , sometimes to the office if I can be bothered . If I go out always and some other places I go in the week where I need to look a bit more ' done ' but only subtle colours . I quite like Trinny ones cos they go with my creases!
