So I’ve finally updated my spreadsheet - includes all the luxury multi-brand calendars that have been announced. I looked at LF, but none of the other sub £100 calendars.
My methodology isn’t at all perfect (@BakeOffRewatch was right to say that the counts of products can be misleading as they don’t take size into account) but it has been helpful.
Conclusion is that most offer “value” in the sense that if you bought the calendar, disaggregated and sold it all on Vinted/Ebay you’d probably get between 1.5 and 2 times what you paid. But the value to me - looking at what I really like and will use - does vary a lot.
Having now worked through the lot, one observation is that the contents of the calendars are actually a lot more diverse than in previous years. There are very few products that appear in multiple calendars - some still have AB rich cream, quite a few have AA bath oils and Neom candles, and quite a few have one of the Sol de Janeiro perfume mists, but other than that they are (mostly) different. And different content to last year - for example, not a single CT eyeshadow palette, whereas in the past there have been quite a few.
As expected, Harrods and Space NK are good for me. Sephora and Next are also decent. I was surprised that Niche beauty came out well - I think if I was paying the euro price (299 euros, so roughly £250) I’d be very tempted.
