Yes I know, I'm stupidly early, but I love a beauty advent calendar and I've just seen Liberty has stopped a sneak peek at their offering this year...

Look Fantastic are opening their email list with the tagline of something ‘iconic.’ Hope that’s not a nod to it being filled with products from that brand as last years big item in their calendar was an iconic eye shadow palette.

I noticed that the Flannels fragrance cracker is available for pre order. I had this last year - delivery is expensive but I thought it was good value.

Thanks @Growlybear83 looks quite good. I find the flannels delivery charge pretty annoying though.

I see there is also a festive beauty cracker too - not that exciting though.

I had Flannels last year, the fragrance cracker and the bigger one. The packaging wasn’t great on the big one as a lot of people had broken candles. Mine was chipped but useable and they gave a partial refund. The items were great though, so I was happy overall. I’m not going to get one this year, I still have a lot of Moncler etc. left from last time.

Harrods perfume appears sold out already

Wow that is crazy. The annoying thing is you know loads of resellers will have bought them up and they will be on EBay/Vinted/Facebook Marketplace at massively inflated prices in two months time but I guess that is market forces.
I hesitated getting it as it seems too early but I made that mistake last year and missed out (and I refused to pay the inflated prices on eBay) so I bought it yesterday
I must admit I am tempted by the beauty one as well but I will hang on and if it sells out so be it

@MiaN just seen on Harrods Insta that the perfume has sold out on preorder and it will be available again on 1st September.

So far F&M and Liberty look the best. I missed having them last year....I got Harrods and was so disappointed with it. It looks better this year but am still giving it a miss. I got the fragrance one too last year, and it was lovely, but it looks quite similar this year.

It's between F&M and Harrods for me so far.

F&M has 3 serums and Harrods has 3 moisturisers. I prefer 3 serums, but F&M also has more duds, and 2 mini candles, while Harrods doesn't have any candles.

Not an easy decision! Looking forward to seeing Space NK, CB and Selfridges offerings.

Looks like Space NK have hiked the price to £250 this year so now on par with Harrods. F&M are pushing it a bit at £260 as I seem to remember that they also charge for postage.

When does sephora release their calendar info? Was it any good last year?
Also I've just received a degusta email, does anyone know when they release the content details? It was recommended last year but I can't remember if it was this group/thread/chat or if it was the countdown to christmas one.

Really looking forward to seeing what’s in Vogue and Selfridges. As the prices of the mid layer calendars (JL, Space NK etc) creep up, I’m more likely to leave them. I prefer less make up and more skincare. The Harrods and F&M both look good but I’m hoping there’s one with no DOD (unlikely, I know). Scrunchies and sleep masks do nothing for me.

@AprilLady Orveda is silly pricing even on eBay. I first saw it advertised ages ago in monthly The Sunday Times supplement, the one where they only present super expensive clothes/interiors/jewellery/beauty treatments/yacht holidays that sort of thing. I can't remember what they call it but it's essentially one huge advertising edition for expensive and exclusive stuff. Naturally I googled and explored the brand when I first saw the first advert. The trouble is, even if it really is amazing skincare, I wouldn't be able to justify buying their products on a very regular basis. So as curious as I am to try anything Orveda, I know I would'd become a loyal customer because of their prices.
If anyone is ever bored, have a look on Embassy of Beauty website for a handful of expensive premium skincare porn. I think the most expensive is a serum at £995 for 50ml! I order Biologique Recherche from there but I've never been to their salon - good thing too as they'd see me coming and sell me everything in under 5 minutes.

Yes I missed out on it last year too. I went to Harrods on the day it went on sale in store and was really surprised by how little stock they had. I think it sold out within 24 hours.

I got liberty 2023 and was so disappointed. A lot of the products smelt like they were very old stock. That foostie smell like you get from old sun cream. I don't think I would buy a lot of the products, I think I'll be looking at space nk or look fantastic this year

I was disappointed by liberty too. Space NK have good cosmetics and new products, at prices that I would consider purchasing myself if I enjoy them. I didn't buy it last year and regretted it.

I ordered to two Flannel perfume crackers for me and my husband, but still disappointed how quickly Harrods Perfume was sold out. I will check again on 1st but somehow I doubt they will have many

Last year they took the Avios back off me. Nothing in the t &c s to say why. I put in a ticket but they never gave them back

@MiaN cult beauty are doing a fragrance calander this year for the first time and SpaceNk did one last year , not sure if they have plans to repeat this year Probably not as niche as Harrods but worth checking out and may be a good alternative if you miss out on the 1st.
The flannels crackers are great though too (if you ignore the delivery charge!) I bought a couple last year for gifts

Space NK last year was very good. I will have a look to see if I can find info on Cult Beauty, they have some fantastic brands too

@Fedupandstressed fingers crossed I get the points as it was 1,420 :) I normally use top cash back but they don't have Harrods!

Yes I think Harrods did this last years as well - they had a second drop on release day. I actually thought that the pre-release sold out more slowly than usual.

In previous this years I seem to remember it selling out within a couple of hours, whereas this year it didn't sell out until the following day. I wonder whether it was the timing of the release, or whether they produced more this year. Or perhaps people getting advent calendar fatigue!

I still haven't gotten over the trauma of the year they messed them up really badly and mine didn't arrive until December 15th. Mind you, they did refund it eventually after a concerted twitter campaign so it was free. Their customer service was so bad that I haven't bought anything from them since.

Look fantastic did sell out so quickly last year…can’t blame them if they do broadly the same. I love cult51 so f&m has edge. @MidnightMeltdown I hate pillow sprays, but they make ok ironing water/clothes refreshers, that helps get rid of them!

Wildsmith is another great brand too - their creams smell lovely.
