Yes I know, I'm stupidly early, but I love a beauty advent calendar and I've just seen Liberty has stopped a sneak peek at their offering this year...

Actually tempted by Beauty Bay! Does anyone know if they usually sell out?

@Flexibubble I think this is Beauty Bay’s first calendar.

I had ruled it out but I saw an unboxing on YouTube and now I’m tempted too.

The calendars last year took a long time to sell out compared to a few years prior. I think this is why they're all bringing releasing them earlier, or at least the contents. But as this is Beauty Bay's first calendar it's hard to say on how it will go.

Ah thank you didn't realise it was their first! I'm going to go for it, a fair few products I've really wanted to try!

This is an extremely dangerous habit. I usually decide which ones I'm going to buy - then I watch the unboxings on YouTube and invariably end up with an extra one that I had no intention of buying! 😄

I think beauty bay looks good too. Decent price point too.

I'm on the wait list and praying there is no Avant!

Autumnismyfavouritetimeofyear · 02/09/2024 21:47

I saw the Beauty Bay unboxing and am really tempted too! Not as high value as some of the others (but also cheaper), but I think I would actually use all the products, whereas all the others have a few things not for me. Maybe they are doing a really good one as it is their first?

Housewife2010 · 02/09/2024 22:14

I definitely think there will be Avant in the OK AC. The brand has been in recent OK beauty boxes.
Infamous Avant has infiltrated Hearst magazine beauty boxes too.

I agree and last years ok ac contained an avant product, it's in my dod

I watched a Space NK unboxing today. I think if I was going to spend almost £250 on an a/c it would be this one as there are a lot of full size products and not as many - for me - DoD. I thought the contents were - mostly - better than Harrods - certainly in terms of product size.

By contrast, Cult Beauty left me cold.

I already have a last year’s a/c from Rituals that I got at a bargain price as well as loads of products from previous calendars that I am working my way through. I am trying to resist buying more. However, unless the M&S offering is full of brow gel, brushes, face powder, cleanser and suchlike, I will probably get that one too.

IlovePond · 02/09/2024 22:55

Re: Rituals - the Rituals shop at Clark’s village often has previous years’ calendars at much reduced prices. They have been selling their old 3D Xmas tree one for about £62 recently.

MidnightMeltdown · 02/09/2024 23:33

I definitely plan to pick up Space NK.

I'm still undecided between Harrods and F&M and keep changing my mind. I also want to see Vogue!

I think that Space NK and F&M are my most frequently purchased calendars. I've had Space NK 4 years out of the past 5. Same with F&M!

Liberty and Harrods I've only bought twice before.

MidnightMeltdown · 02/09/2024 23:42

It bugs me that F&M haven't pictured all the items. You can't see what the makeup bag looks like for example. I wonder whether this is because it is the same makeup bag that they put in the calendar last year (i.e. a design that they can't sell)!

There's a pic on Really Ree with the make-up bag (I like a make-up bag actually as I always need them for my stash but I don't like this one so much.

Edited: ignore me, I think this is last year's, sorry!

clary · 03/09/2024 01:39

Do people like the Harvey Nicks one btw?

I am really hesitating as I wanted to avoid spending £££ but last year I got Next as a cheap last-minute extra and was actually underwhelmed (I also had Liberty). Looked at LF but again I don't want Avant crap.

HN looks nice as it has a Le Labo fragrance - is it better than Space NK? And shall I just save my money and then be all sad in December?

(I told DD I might not get one (have refilled my F&M box) and she said noooo, you always get loads of them tho!)

None of them are doing it for me, I may be over beauty advent calendars and just purchase 3 - 4 products that I really like instead. But I get a complete FOMO at that thought.. My fourteen year old is an Everything Shower Devotee, so Im putting a calendar together dedicated to complement her favourite ritual. Just ordered a CB hair beauty box and will split this up into some of her windows, are there any beauty boxes out there that are more body product focused ?

MonkeyTennis34 · 03/09/2024 07:34

@Witchinawell
If you mean your DD lives all shower-related products, has she tried shower steamers? Next do some nice sets.

I wasn't sure if Everything Shower is a brand??

I believe an 'everything shower' is when you literally clean your whole body/hair using all sorts of products
