Beauty advent calendars 2024

Yes I know, I'm stupidly early, but I love a beauty advent calendar and I've just seen Liberty has stopped a sneak peek at their offering this year...

I'm up for an early start, thank you @virgocatlover

rubyslippers · 30/06/2024 18:43

I’ll be getting the SpaceNK again unless Liberty have really upped their game

Puravida23 · 30/06/2024 18:51

It’s crazy how early they are marketing these now . Thank you @virgocatlover for starting a thread though as I love beauty advent calanders
Sad to see AB is still doing the circuits . The La mer item looks interesting though I am hoping for some new products this year to try I hope they all don’t just roll at the same old favourites

virgocatlover · 30/06/2024 18:56

It just gets earlier and earlier doesn't it! Maybe it's because they didn't sell as well last year (many of the big names still had stock in November), so they're trying to get ahead of the competition? And I agree about AB, I wonder if anyone buys it full price?

They certainly are quick off the mark! But probably are trying to get ahead of the competition. I remember our local Home Bargains having their Christmas aisles all set up early August last year, but after the initial shock lots of people seemed happy to start shopping months before the other supermarkets set up their displays.

mynewusername2023 · 30/06/2024 20:44

I'm up for an early start too. Probably going to get spacenk and cult beauty again this year. I only got one last year as I'd been made redundant but I've been saving for them since January this year.

ACAC2023 · 30/06/2024 21:05

I got Vogue last year & loved it!
Hope they do one this year too.
i joined the Liberty Beauty Drop, so already have £140 towards the Calendar 🙂

TreesinthePark · 30/06/2024 22:55

I'm in even though I'll need to grow a other face to use what I have never mind new calendars!

AprilLady · 30/06/2024 23:19

I’m in too - spreadsheets and all.

OchonAgusOchonOh · 30/06/2024 23:44

My spreadsheet is in too @AprilLady

mrsjg · 01/07/2024 05:48

I've been saving for the Elemis one since I saw last years calendar. I've had beauty advent calendars before (No. 7, smallest L'occitane) but they were around £40-50 so this will be the most expensive one I've bought.

AstonMartha · 01/07/2024 06:03

It’s looks very similar to last year’s but I will definitely get the liberty one.

Isabelle70 · 01/07/2024 07:03

I have signed up to the waitlist as I have about £140 in credit left.
I did really enjoy the calendar last year and sold on a couple of bits I didn't like. I also sold the empty box for £20!

Wishimaywishimight · 01/07/2024 07:11

Just wondering if anyone gets the Jo Malone advent calendar? I was tempted last year but it's so expensive! Is it worth it I wonder?

SwordBilledHummingbird · 01/07/2024 07:52

@Wishimaywishimight I haven't yet but I'm probably going to get either Jo Malone or Jo Loves this year. Last year I had Diptyque and I find I prefer perfume/candles to lots of skincare.

Stowickthevast · 01/07/2024 07:56

Place marking. I had a year off last year and have been using my product stash instead. This has made me feel very angelic! So I'm probably going to get another one this year but want to be pretty targeted. I never use certain bits e.g hair products so tend to go through all the offerings first.

I've had the Jo Malone calendar twice now and I've loved it both times. I think it's very good value for money, although not the same value as the Harrods fragrance calendar. Because there isn't quite as much variation in the contents each year, I've been alternating Jo Malone with Jo Loves.

Can anyone remember when the Harrods fragrance calendar was available to buy online last year? I missed the email and had to go to the store to buy it when it went on general release.

CountryCob · 01/07/2024 09:24

Hello everyone!

Puravida23 · 01/07/2024 09:45

@Growlybear83 I have just checked on the Harrods fragrance advent as I dithered last year as it was so early and missed it and I then lived with the regret as nothing else really took my fancy as much.
It actually went on pre order from 3rd August for rewards members with general release from September 1st so incredibly early. I am quite shocked it was so early actually

VibeOnWithMyGalPals · 01/07/2024 09:47

I’m so tempted to splash out and get the Liberty one this year

Peridot1 · 01/07/2024 09:49

Love these threads so signing in!

I was a member of the Liberty Beauty Drop to save for last year’s calendar but didn’t get it in the end. Got a jam one and jigsaw one instead. Cancelled my BD membership a couple of months ago and have £259 credit in my account. So can buy the Liberty for £1.

Am going to try to resist looking at the contents other than what I’ve seen so far and just order it as soon as it’s available.

Growlybear83 · 01/07/2024 10:13

@Puravida23 Thanks so much. I remembered that it went on sale really early last year but didn't realise it was quite that early! I'll keep an eye on my emails so I don't miss it again.

JudgeBurrito · 01/07/2024 10:19

I'm in! I wasn't massively impressed with the calendars last year. Ended up with F&M which was fine, but in previous years I've had 3 or 4. However, in all my years of getting calendars I've never had Liberty, and that initial list is tempting. I'm not a beauty drop member so will have to wait for general sale, but tbh half the fun is comparing the different calendars anyway so I wouldn't want to choose so early.

Addictedtobeauty · 01/07/2024 20:32

Excellent, thank you. Have BD credit so will get Liberty and at least one other- possibly Vogue, Harrods or F&M. Can’t wait! I like the build up more than the opening!

wheresmyshoe · 01/07/2024 20:38

I'm planning the same @Addictedtobeauty
I am in my use up phase so went mid range last year and missed having something very exciting.
I appreciate our spreadsheet queens and love all the excited chatter around which one to get.
