Yes I know, I'm stupidly early, but I love a beauty advent calendar and I've just seen Liberty has stopped a sneak peek at their offering this year...

I have ordered this one along with using my Beauty Drop for Liberty.
I have a birthday this one and have hinted for Harrods so hopefully he took the hint 😀

I've ordered the LF one which I got a £12 discount on. I think I will use a lot of the items. I did get the H@B one a couple of years back which I thought was pretty good value although there were a couple of bits I never used. I always remember a gold face mask that was in it though - can't remember the brand now but it smelt divine.

@MidnightMeltdown I don't think I believe that the Harrods beauty advent calendar has sold out. From what I could see this morning, the vast vast majority of people were queueing for the fragrance calendar and I only saw a few people with both. Once we got inside and close to the pay point, there were at least six members of staff opening boxes of fragrance calendars which were sitting on a huge trolley and putting them into bags for people in the queue. There was a very small pile of beauty calendars next to them, and almost everyone I saw in the queue was clutching a pink ticket to denote thst they wanted a fragrance calendar. I suspect that you're right and they've just taken it off sale for a bit while they sort out the fragrance calendar mess.

I notice that their hair calendar is also 'out of stock' online. Their staff are probably too busy having to pack up double the number of fragrance calendars that they originally planned to send out!

Honestly, it stresses me out thinking out about it, and I'm not even the one having to deal with this mess!

I've ordered it, for me I'll use enough of the items to justify it (several are stuff I use anyway and interested in trying some of the travel size ones), none of the others have really impressed me.

@MidnightMeltdown I'd love to see the video too! Did it show the fights?

I found a couple of vids on TikTok by searching 'Harrods fragrance advent calendar' then clicking on videos, filters and sorting by date posted. None of the fights, but you can see people scrambling queuing and scrambling to get the boxes.

No I didn't see the fights unfortunately 😂. Just hoards of people scrambling for calendars, and the queue!

I imagine that the regular shoppers, who aren't concerned with advent calendars, must have been baffled by the chaos 😂

They didn't capture the worst of it by any means - when I got into the area where the calendars were, I would think it was a minute or two later than when the video showed the big crowd, and the main fight was in full swing 😆😆. The two women in the video were standing in the queue in front of me. I didn't realise there was a branch of Harrods at lakeside!

There are already some interestingly priced ones on Vinted. One @ £650.

annoys me when people are buying to sell on when people who genuinely want the item can’t get it.

I’ve been following with interest. I was 99% sure I was going to go for the Harrods beauty calendar, but Space NK was a very close second for me.
It’s my first time splurging on an AC.
I held of the Harrods one due to the issues you all had with the fragrance calendar. Now I’m not sure whether to joint the Space NK waitlist or hold out to see if Harrods put theirs back as available online.

No, joining the waitlist usually just means you will get an email with the option to buy before it goes on general sale.

Yes I agree. It's really greedy. You're not allowed to sell advent calendars on Vinted so they usually get deleted quite quickly.

That is interesting. I put my empty vogue box on there, I got a prohibited listing email and it was removed. They didn't say why it was prohibited and I never bothered asking them. It did take a few days though

The Harrods beauty advent (not the perfume) is back online now.

I used to watch cosmetopia diagest but honestly she gets views for her rants about advents only, is her party trick and it gets old quick.

I don't know @MiaN I can see that but she's a good devil's advocate for me as we've got similar profiles of having had beauty advents probably since the 2017 LF and being a certain age and perhaps reconsidering value.

I find it makes a change from a lot of the other reviews which are positive.

She's right about the increase in nonsense products like scrunchie, sweat bands, powder puffs, mirrors etc.

A full-sized puff is no one’s idea of good value!
