Beauty advent calendars 2024

Yes I know, I'm stupidly early, but I love a beauty advent calendar and I've just seen Liberty has stopped a sneak peek at their offering this year...

I am so glad they are marketing the advents so early this year. It has forced me to reflect on my stash and also put a break on my beauty spending until I see the advent contents. I am not buying anything else now just in case I get a duplicate or suitable alternative in an advent. I have a wish list in my mind and will buy the one closest to it I think. So far nothing grabs me in Liberty so that’s a no and not convinced about Fortnums. I am hoping for a good Harrods or SpaceNk as both of those have tempted me in previous years

CorneliaStreet · 21/07/2024 17:56

I really wanted Space NK last year so interested to see what they come up with this time. Need to do some serious work on the current skincare stash first though, as that’s a bit out of control.

Every year I tell myself I’m not getting the M & S calendar and I always seem to end up caving in and getting it, but I definitely want to try something different this year. Do not need yet more Nails Inc polish or Phillip Kingsley Elasticiser!

virgocatlover · 21/07/2024 18:08

The M&S calendar is always a bit samey but it's fantastic value and good if you don't want to spend too much on a calendar. I will
Probably get it unless the contents are really dull/ a lot of stuff I wouldn't use.

Or something else from this company.

SoloCat · 22/07/2024 18:57

Can’t believe we’re already in Christmas beauty advent time!

BakeOffRewatch · 23/07/2024 18:21

The pre-sale for Fortnum and Mason’s is 9th August. Full contents not revealed yet. https://www.fortnumandmason.com/beauty-advent-calendar-sign-up-2024

Liberty pre-order window is until 21st August. https://www.libertylondon.com/uk/liberty-beauty-advent-calendar-2024-000821246.html

Isabelle70 · 23/07/2024 18:52

I have ordered the Liberty calendar through the preorder. I didn't have as much credit as I expected but still went for it.

BlueLimeRun · 23/07/2024 19:41

I am tempted to get it @Isabelle70
wondering if they’ll be a kit before Christmas too

WeAreBorg · 23/07/2024 19:57

Joining. Its definitely proportionate to spend 6 months of the year discussing advent calendars

I had the Vogue calendar last year which was a truly beautiful thing

Isabelle70 · 23/07/2024 19:57

@BlueLimeRun it's a right faff for me as they won't post to Guernsey if it has any sprays in it so I have to use a mail forwarder. The only thing I purchase online from Liberty is the calendar. Even with the beauty drop I had to use a forwarder so it got too expensive.
This might be my last Liberty this year and I try another next time.

wheresmyshoe · 23/07/2024 20:00

I've spent my Beauty Drop credit on Timorous Beasties cushions in the £100 off £300 sale so back to an blank slate for calendar choices.

Isabelle70 · 23/07/2024 21:35

Just checked my bank account and I have been charged £260 even though I applied £110 of vouchers! Hopefully Liberty will sort it out.

Peridot1 · 24/07/2024 08:08

I haven’t figured out how to order the Liberty calendar using BD credit.

Look at your last BD email and use the code in the box which, from memory, is marked “Voucher code”. I intend using my BD credit and two vouchers for mine.

Ohdear7 · 24/07/2024 09:32

I’ve pre-ordered the Liberty calendar, had BD Credit and vouchers to use up so only cost me around £40. It looks much more promising than last years.

I was tempted by Vogue last year but didn’t go for it due to the cost and then regretted it. I think there were hoop earrings and other bits in there I wasn’t 100% on. Did those who had it think it was good value?

The hoop earrings were awful. The teeny necklace broke. The whole thing gave a percentage of profits to some dubious imo charities. My oh bought it. I wouldn't have chose it.

YesItIsNovemberAndMyChristmasTreeIsUp · 24/07/2024 10:59

I had the vogue, I can't remember which username I used at the time. Hoping it was this one.
I purchased it with money I made from vinted so it didn't cost me anything as such. I've also managed to sell a few things from it on vinted, the necklace and the socks for instance.
I was happy I got it and I would have regretted not getting it but it wasn't worth what it was priced at. I also had issues with the voucher they included and it wouldn't work, I didn't even contact them for help with it as it saved me spending more with them, I also haven't used the magazine subscription because I don't like reading online (I used tech enough) and their magazine is basically all ads.
The only item I can think that has been of any use is the card holder. I did really like the candle smell aswell.
It would have to be truly amazing for me to purchase this year and at a good price

mitogoshi · 24/07/2024 11:09

I'll get the liberty one as I have most of the amount as credit from the beauty drop

Peridot1 · 24/07/2024 11:35

Thanks @BIossomtoes. I’ll give that a go.

BIossomtoes · 24/07/2024 12:49

Hope it works. I’m buggered if it doesn’t!

ACAC2023 · 24/07/2024 15:14

I had Vogue and really loved it 🙂. I’ll definitely get it again this year if it’s anything like last years. I gave away the earrings but thought it was great overall.
I’m now a Liberty BD subscriber & may wait for my next top up before ordering

I thought it was great. I used pretty much everything and still wear all the jewellery regularly and have worn the socks loads and they still good as new
I even still use the foreo!

MonkeyTennis34 · 24/07/2024 18:41

Oohh how exciting!!

I'm generally mad on all things Christmas but only discovered beauty ACs last year.

I had Next, LookFantastic, M and S and MacMillan.

I loved them all....no idea which one to get this year!!

Would probably prefer one with more fragrance but not exclusively fragrance.

GentlemanJack · 24/07/2024 19:15

I can't remember what I got last year. I did get the Jurlique one from Bridal Beauty Company and it is lovely. Every single thing was so nice and I've almost used everything. Well impressed.
I may consider the Holland and Barratt one this time, depending. I have enough make up and skincare. I just don't use as much now I'm retired. I do enjoy scents, but it feels such a waste just to wear it at home if it's a really expensive one. I know that's absurd but I do !
