Yes I know, I'm stupidly early, but I love a beauty advent calendar and I've just seen Liberty has stopped a sneak peek at their offering this year...

I quite like the sound of a tomato candle!

Neom used to do one that was called something like blackberry and bucho (not the correct spelling!) and it smelt exactly like on the vine tomatoes! I loved it! And then it was discontinued… I wonder why! 😂

I loved the tomato candle. I’ve been sniffing the tomato vines in the garden this summer and wondering if I should get a replacement 😂

My Liberty Advent Calendar arrives today too. Thanks for sharing your experience @Addictedtobeauty . I’d be so upset if the box is damaged, as it’s my first AC ever, is a new mum treat to myself and I plan to keep the box and reuse. Anyway I’ll be optimistic!

@BakeOffRewatch CS were really good. They offered me a 10% discount first but I declined and asked for a new box as I also intend to keep the box - it’s really beautiful. would never have picked up one in store with a crushed corner if there were perfect ones available. The crumpled corner would have bothered me daily and taken the shine off the experience. I am very grateful they proposed an acceptable resolution. Good CS is always a joy.

I've just had a Harrods email telling me I'm getting a refund on my pre-order of the 12 day fragrance advent. Booooooooooooooooooooooooooo

Oh that's not good @wheresmyshoe , not good customer service from a brand like Harrods.

Are you able to get to the store? There will apparently be stock available on 1 September. I went on launch day last year and they had a small quantity available. They sold out quickly but I think there was stock for most of the day.

Unfortunately not @Growlybear83 I've got commitments elsewhere this weekend and tbh I'd resent schlepping to the store (£75 train) for a product they claim is out of stock on pre-order. Poor form Harrods!

Yes I'd resent it too if it would cost me thst much to get there. It's very disappointing for you. Have you tried to ring customer service? Surely if they've got stock to sell in store, they should be able to fulfill your order.

Urgh, they will be in store, they won't send one from the store. Harrods have gone right down in my estimation. I'm reminded of the Mumsnetter who had an awful time with her calendar.

Me too, get on Twitter! Or whatever it's called now..! This reflects really badly on them.

Harrods haven't been the same since it was taken over by the new owners. There's no customer care. They prioritise the big spenders

@wheresmyshoe Maybe try via twitter/whatever SM they're on? It is poor behaviour especially as they've been sitting on your money for a good few weeks. From memory it was @OchonAgusOchonOh who has good experience of battling a calendar problem.

I have had the same cancellation email from Harrods and I'm gutted! It was such a great bargain, almost too good to be true.

I live up North so no option to buy in person. Not sure I can be bothered complaining, would rather get over the disappointment now and not drag it out.

Not an advent calendar but if anyone wants to start limbering up for the glorious fun that is the Sparks virtual advent, they've launched a mini beauty five day version. It's let me open the first two days this morning, two 25% beauty related discounts and no sign of Gary.

Probably a stupid thing to do but the fragrance advent is still showing on the Harrods website so I've ordered it again. Why would they have it still available if they are refunding people?!

Let's see if I end up with anything!

So there is no hope for having some more availability online tomorrow! I would be annoyed if it happened to me

I did however look through the content and so much oud, oud and leather, honey and rose, rose and gardenia, leather that my interest in it really went down after looking at the perfume description. I am sure it will appeal to many who prefer stronger scents, but not for me a regular Jo Malone/Byredo crowd pleasing scents fan.

I probably would have bought it to be fair, as it is opportunity to try very high end perfumes for not so high price but don't feel too badly for missing out either.
