Beauty advent calendars 2024

Yes I know, I'm stupidly early, but I love a beauty advent calendar and I've just seen Liberty has stopped a sneak peek at their offering this year...

I had a look at Jo Loves, less number of perfumes compared to Jo Malone but voucher for full bottle makes it more substantial. I probably wouldn't unless I get very good deal but I think it looks good

My Liberty calendar has arrived.

The top corner of the box is damaged (a bit crumpled) and I’m disappointed. I’d never pick up a damaged box in store. Would you complain? I feel very entitled complaining but it’s an expensive purchase.

@Addictedtobeauty I'd contact them - if it was an in store purchase like you say you wouldn't have picked it. They might offer a partial refund?

That's a hefty markup on the Irish calendars. Exchange rate is 1.18 at the moment and has been around that for a long time. They're using 1.31 and 1.33.

@Addictedtobeauty I'm sorry to hear your calendar is damaged. I would definitely complain - I think part of the attraction with the Liberty calendar is the beautiful box.

I think the Jo Loves calendar looks much much better than the information I read a week or two ago and I love the box. I would be very tempted if I hadn't got my bargain Penhaligon's calendar on the way. I agree that it's good value. I've not seen the contents of Jo Malone yet - have I missed something?

I compared it to the last years Jo Malone as that's the one I had. I have not seen 2024 yet

I agree the Jo Loves looks great this year, very tempting. I’m waiting for this years Penhaligon’s, I loved the look of last years but didn’t like any of the candles and I’m not a huge fan of halfeti. Hoping for some Solaris in the calendar and the new linen and rose candles, but I might splurge on one of their Christmas sets and get LF. Also still taken with the harrods hair and body, so might ask for that for Xmas…. But then Jo loves does look v good…. So much choice this year!

Liberty are sending me a replacement outer shell.,I’ll have to get my OH to transfer all the products. I really hope the new box is pristine!

That's brilliant. Good customer service makes such a difference, particularly when it is a luxury item.

@CocoMascara My 2023 Penhaligon's calendar arrived this morning and they included a sample of Solaris - I think it's really lovely. My Liberty calendar has been despatched today, so with my Harrod's fragrance calendar, I think I'm sorted now. Unless I give in to temptation 😆

Random Lifestyle Blog on YouTube was contacted by cult Beauty and they asked her to take down her full reveal video saying the contents had been 'leaked' early. I strongly suspect that they have seen the response and are changing some of the contents.

I got a sneak peak email just after I saw this I think one of the products shown wasn't on the first full reveal.

I was excited to get this email about the Cult Beauty fragrance calendar… except the link takes you to info about the regular calendar 🤦‍♀️

Anyone else get this?

I’m a bit confused about what Cult Beauty are doing - are the two calendars completely separate (like Harrods) or are they two versions of the same standard calendar, with one having some of the other items replaced with some fragrances? Their promotional wording reads a bit like the second option - and agree the sneak peek email was completely unenlightening.

Release date is 4 September, so they must surely do a full reveal very soon?

Oh that’s interesting @AprilLady - it hadn’t occurred to me that it was anything other than a separate calendar. But that must be commercially risky so maybe you’re right and it’s a variant of the normal one?!

@AprilLady l think you are right I think there are two beauty calendars but with slight variations on products with one with more perfume. This would explain the slightly different listings we have seen. I know the CB calendar that Em Sheldon unboxed had a few different days to a blog I saw which would explain this. I guess it is possibly linked to international shipping and also quite a few people don’t like perfume in an advent (not me I love it!)
Shame though I would love to see them do a fragrance Calendar
I just wish CB would put their full lists out and stop with all these sneak reveals it’s getting quite tiresome

Interesting about the CB calendar. The Really Ree link has been updated and the EGF serum is no longer on it. It's not the full list though.

I wonder if Cult beauty themselves really know what there doing? At first glance I thought it was a really decent line up of products… then I looked closer and realised that the vast majority of products in the calendar were travel sized. Not good enough for a calendar costing £235.

I use Hourglass veil setting powder so I had a look at the full size I had. Over 10g, the one in the calendar was 2g! That’s stingy even for a travel size! If they don’t change it before launch I can’t imagine there’s going to be many takers, Space NK are probably laughing though!

I’d like John Lewis to release theirs soon and Boots premium. John Lewis gets it nearly right for me apart from the amount of perfume. I don’t like receiving perfume in calendars. I’m picky!

My Liberty Calendar is due in the next half hour. I’m excited. I only bought it because I had BD vouchers but looking forward to its arrival 🙂. Will get Vogue again too if the contents are varied like last year

I'm sure Liberty had a tomato candle a few years ago but it was better than it sounded!
