Beauty advent calendars 2024

Yes I know, I'm stupidly early, but I love a beauty advent calendar and I've just seen Liberty has stopped a sneak peek at their offering this year...

The pink and black things, bottom left? I'm pretty sure they're Slip silk scrunchies, I use them all the time.

OK. I have no use for them, my hair’s not long enough.

virgocatlover · 28/08/2024 13:22

Yes they're Slip scrunchies, usually quite pricey and very kind on hair.

Thanks so much for all of the info, super impressed at some of the analysis! I’m in the market for my first luxury advent calendar and wonder if you could give me some advice. I’m really looking for skincare and make up as a second, I’m quite fussy with perfumes ( gutted no le labo product in the Liberty AC this year). I’ve not heard of a few of the brands on the Fortnum calendar and not interested in a candle, lipstick, scrunchie, make up bag etc so leaning towards Liberty, does this sound like it’s about right? Also does anybody know if I join the Liberty BC now would I be able to use the credit and voucher towards the AC? Thank you!

JudgeBurrito · 28/08/2024 14:49

@Waffles21 Have you considered Harrods? I think it's better than Liberty. There are still a few to be announced, although I think all the main names have released their lists now. Who are we waiting on? Vogue, Sephora, Selfridges, Beauty Bay. Anyone else?

YfenniChristie · 28/08/2024 14:59

I'm waiting on the Boots Premium to be announced. I think Beauty Bay have released theirs? I'm sure I've seen it mentioned on the Beauty Detective website.

Growlybear83 · 28/08/2024 15:01

I've not see Fenwick yet, or Jo Malone, Sephora, or Asos.

MidnightMeltdown · 28/08/2024 15:33

Selfridges have released theirs.

I think that the main ones still to release are Sephora, Vogue and John Lewis but these are all usually announced a bit later.

I agree that Harrods is much better than Liberty, but it comes down to personal preference and which products you will use/want to try.

Housewife2010 · 28/08/2024 16:02

The OK/Hannah Martin AC is £90 for about £585 of products. Looking in my 🔮 though, I bet there's an £85 Avant product in there.

JudgeBurrito · 28/08/2024 16:02

@MidnightMeltdown You're right, I thought I hadn't seen Selfridges but just looked it up and they have indeed announced their contents, and I did see it weeks ago. That's how much of an impression it must have made on me...

John Lewis, good shout. That's usually a good one (if a bit samey) so looking forward to seeing what's in that.

MiaN · 28/08/2024 16:33

Nothing from niche beauty still either

virgocatlover · 28/08/2024 16:47

We're also waiting for M&S (though that's a cheaper option). But one of the most popular.

My Liberty calendar has been dispatched! Now how many days to December 1st??

BakeOffRewatch · 28/08/2024 19:06

I just did a Google search to see if there’s any press releases about the vogue advent calendar. Last year’s one is on resale sites for £500!!!

A wait list for the Vogue advent Calendar opened on 24th July. Perhaps I should start a beauty advent calendar blog? @AprilLady you can do the spreadsheets 😜 https://www.vogue.co.uk/article/vogue-festive-calendar-2024 @WeAreBorg i know you’ve been waiting too

Embarrassingly I’ve just realised @AprilLady shared it on the first page of this thread and I just totally forgot 😂😂😂. I’ll let my mistake stand rather than ask MN to edit 🙈

Puravida23 · 28/08/2024 20:16

And no sooner do I post this and Boots have announced they are doing 3!!! Calendars this year

Boots Advent Calendars 2024: Sneak peek

Boots has announced 3 Boots Advent Calendars 2024. Launch date: 12/09.

VibeOnWithMyGalPals · 28/08/2024 20:24

Will someone post the contents of Boots calendars please if they see them anywhere?

Squishmymallow · 28/08/2024 20:26

Boots have put a sneak peak of their calendars on insta - they look good so far and the full reveal looks to be 12 September! No idea on price but I remember the premium one seemed good value last year (albeit I didn’t actually buy it!)

YfenniChristie · 28/08/2024 22:25

Looking at the Boots photos on Instagram, it looks like there's a Premium, a 12 Days and possibly a skincare focused advent calendar?

I'm conflicted already because one of the pictures features two items that were in last year's Premium calendar (The Drunk Elephant Jelly Cleanser and the Bum Bum Cream). If there's going to be multiples that appeared last year, I may end up skipping this one.

We could announce it every few weeks until eventually @AprilLady forgets she shared it first?

BakeOffRewatch · 28/08/2024 23:03

Well at the risk of repeating previous posts again, I just saw this on Instagram. Very sneak preview of vogue AC

Edited

I got the Boots premium one last year and thought it was very good. Although like @YfenniChristie, if this year's has a lot of repeats, I'll pass.

OchonAgusOchonOh · 28/08/2024 23:57

On the Boots Irish site they have listed the No. 7 calendar and the No 7 Ultimate, which has 25 full size products. That is €230, which is probably around £200. The No 7 one is €80 so probably about £60/65. Hopefully the third one is a premium one that is totally different to last year.

MidnightMeltdown · 29/08/2024 00:16

I was sooo tempted to get Boots premium last year. It's looked great, but I think they announced it quite late, and I already had too many calendars! 😂
