Beauty advent calendars 2024

Yes I know, I'm stupidly early, but I love a beauty advent calendar and I've just seen Liberty has stopped a sneak peek at their offering this year...

It seems like Net-A-Porter have given up and aren't doing a calendar this year after their previous two flops.

We will be gua sha stone-less!

Housewife2010 · 27/08/2024 15:34

It looks like the Natasha Denona Love palette in the CB is a trio rather than a full size palette.
Sol de Janeiro scents seem to be the new AB rich cream/ elasticizer.

pinkchampagne1 · 27/08/2024 16:58

I have just had a proper look at Cult Beauty contents on You Tube. Seems to be mainly travel sized items

Roundaboot · 27/08/2024 17:03

IlovePond · 26/08/2024 20:36

As a matter of interest, which a/c products have you all really liked and subsequently rebought?

For me it’s been- so far:

The M&S Formula night cream
The Wet & Dry brush from the H&B calendar
Eyeko mascara
Bum bum cream
Weleda skin cream from H&B calendar
Clarins beauty flash balm

Also Eyeko mascaras
Laura Mercier powder

I will also be re-buying the Bobbi Brown eyeshadow stick and Nars blusher from last year's JL calendar when I use them up. I've used them loads this year.

@IlovePond If you're a Clarins fan, John Lewis did a brilliant box in Jan of this year. I think it was £50 but had decent sized products, including the lip comfort oil, which I'm now obsessed with!

AprilLady · 27/08/2024 17:30

@MidnightMeltdown I actually think the previous NAP calendars were not bad at all - they somehow just didn’t have mass appeal. I bought last year’s calendar of sorts in January when it was significantly reduced.

And somewhat unexpectedly, my favourite product from all last year’s calendars was actually from that NAP set: The Westman Atelier lip suede in nude. Classy packaging, good colours which are easy to blend to get exactly what I want, and lovely texture. Retails for over £70, so not something I would ever buy at RRP.

Addictedtobeauty · 27/08/2024 17:57

Looking under the ‘calendar contains’ tab and this site seems to be listing last years Vogue contents as this years. Do we think they didn’t sell out and are just wheeling out the same one like Body Shop did last year?

AprilLady · 27/08/2024 18:02

@Addictedtobeauty no, that is in my experience a pretty rubbish site that often has the previous year’s calendars shown before the actual current calendar details are released. Best sites for reliable calendars details in my view are beauty detective, beauty advent calendar.net and really ree.

I hope you’re right. On the contents listed , a couple of them have new next to them. I’m hoping g that’s not a sign.

In all fairness, I didn’t get last years and wanted it so maybe I’d buy. It just feels a bit lazy.

It said that last year, see Beauty advent calendar.net. There is absolutely No Way a brand like Vogue would devalue their products like that (by admitting it didn't sell out), they'd have remarketed it into beauty boxes or GWP or something.

I agree with @AprilLady about those three being the best sites. Beauty detective has really upped her game this year? And BAC isn't as on the ball as usual? Which is a shame because I like the way they link all the products, it makes it easy to compare.

Addictedtobeauty · 27/08/2024 18:40

Thanks ladies, feeling calmer.

In other news, my Liberty AC has dispatched!

YesItIsNovemberAndMyChristmasTreeIsUp · 27/08/2024 18:58

Is it worth subscribing to look fantastic for one month to get £12 off the calendar?

supadupapupascupa · 27/08/2024 19:47

My liberty calendar has been dispatched!

GettingStuffed · 27/08/2024 22:15

I've just seen the Benefit advert calendar it's full of tiny products.

supadupapupascupa · 27/08/2024 23:06

Anyone know if body shop are doing one?

AprilLady · 27/08/2024 23:16

@JudgeBurrito yes, beauty detective has definitely upped their game, whereas I think BAC.net now mostly just posts when she gets promotional info, rather than actively scouting for deals. (Agree her site is the best though - I really like the A to Z calendar lists which show both the latest and previous calendars from each brand). A similar thing happened to Really Ree - she also posts much less about GWPs and deals than she used to.

My theory is that scouting for information and deals and posting multiple times a day is a lot of work with little reward. I suspect the income from affiliate links is pennies, so that at some point it just becomes not worth the effort.

I note Really Ree does quite a lot of individual product reviews, I’m guessing that as well as getting the products free this is also a bit better paid.

I subscribed for the August box so get £12 off the LF calendar. The box was £15 so seemed an easy choice for me as I know I will like more than £88 worth of products in the advent calendar now it’s been published. And my tween is suddenly into blush and lip tints so is likely to take the things I won’t use off my hands! In fact the August box has a blush stick which looks like it’s marketed for teens which I’ve hidden away to have as one of her presents…

But committing this early to which box I am buying is making me a bit twitchy… I feel like I will end up with a second one this year once some of the other contents are announced! 😂

MonkeyTennis34 · 28/08/2024 08:30

Have all of the products been revealed for the LookFantastic AC?

If so, where can I find the info?

It’s here

LOOKFANTASTIC Advent Calendar 2024 - Price, Contents

LOOKFANTASTIC advent calendar 2024 is worth over £565 and inside you will find 27 products, from Estee Lauder and Sol de Janeiro.

pinkchampagne1 · 28/08/2024 09:16

I have had an email about the OK calendar. Think it costs £90 and apparently contains £570 worth of products. Sure it had a higher value last year.

MonkeyTennis34 · 28/08/2024 09:21

Thanks loads @Talisin
I'm going to enjoy perusing that list after work 😊

Housewife2010 · 28/08/2024 09:49

Refinery 29 has an article on ACs. They have photos of the contents of the two Next ACs.

virgocatlover · 28/08/2024 11:16

Next has two calendars this year. I like the look of the luxury one but not sure I want to spend £170 on it.

I think Next have upped their game with the luxury one, the brands and sizes do look more on par with the luxury calendars (if maybe a line-up you'd have expected to see a few years ago) so the price might be about right. Will reserve judgement for the full list though. I don't think it's for me, but it could be a good choice for someone who hasn't had a calendar before and doesn't want to pay £250.

BIossomtoes · 28/08/2024 11:40

Of the two Next calendars, the cheaper one looks like better value. At least it isn’t fobbing you off with nasty cheap bracelets.

The pink and black things, bottom left? I'm pretty sure they're Slip silk scrunchies, I use them all the time.
