Yes I know, I'm stupidly early, but I love a beauty advent calendar and I've just seen Liberty has stopped a sneak peek at their offering this year...

My favourite thread of the year ❤ In the past Ive had LiB, CB & H&B. Ideally I want an indulgent skin/bath/hair calendar and a scent calendar. Sadly missed out on the Harrods one but the hair looks interesting. So far none of the others are really doing it for me.

Was the SpaceNK video one of those drinking game ones where you take a shot each time they say gorgeous or stunning?!

Jo Malone 2023 advent I bought with good discount form Sephora.fr and here are my detailed thoughts on it

15 perfumes in it, 1 30m and 14 were 9ml and I think this is really good vs some other brands offer way more fillers, way less scents.
1 30ml I love
3 9ml also love and kept for myself
5 9ml of their darker bottle, intense collection I gave to my son
3 9ml I used up in the bathroom
3 9ml end up in the bin, I could not stand the smell even for bathroom

2 candles - both lovely. I wish at least one was little bigger but happy with the choice

1 30ml body mist I did not like at all and end up in the bin

7 items were bit of a filler - like 30ml hand cream or 50ml body wash. Some of them I enjoyed more than others but they were not really focus of the advent.

I wouldn't buy it again as I feel this introduced me to the brand and I will get more out of going in store, trying few things and buying things I actually like. I think I paid nearly 40% off and that was good price and I am really left with one 30ml perfume, 3 9ml and 2 small candles I honestly care for.

I would say this is good if you
Know the brand and you know you will like most of the perfumes
Don't know the brand and you don't have a store nearby, and you really want to get to know it
Have someone to share with, or don't mind selling what you don't like
Get a good deal
It was 350gbp full price

Else I feel there is more value in mixed brand, or just going in store and smelling some and spending this for items you really want. I wouldn't buy it again even on 50% off but I am glad that I experienced it once. For the record, I like Jo Malone and I purchased 100ml bottle last month, I just think perfume is so personal it will be hard for any brand to have more then 5 perfumes you actually love

Does anyone know when Cult Beauty will be doing a full reveal?

I had Penhaligons and Jo Malone last year. Loved both. I have had Jo Malone a few times before but my first Penhaligons one. If I had to choose I would go for Penhaligons.

Was the Penhaligon calendar more perfume heavy than candles and other things? I don't know many of their scents but I like the ones I've tried.

I’ve spent the morning watching unboxing videos 🙀I had hoped we’d seen the end of the brow gel, setting powder and primers that were everywhere last year. Sadly, there were quite a few of these in the reveals I watched today. These, together with brushes, make up sponges and anything by Revolution are real DoD for me!

I quite fancy LF based on the previews, but it will depend on what else is in it. I also like the look of Space NK and Harrods but I am not inclined to spend that much on one calendar, (I like a selection of cheaper ones - bargains if possible!) One day I will crack and buy a ‘big one’ - maybe Liberty’s or Harrods as they seem so lovely.

I have a bargain Rituals calendar that I put away last year for this Xmas, and will probably get the M&S one again because it’s such good value.

I got the 12 day Clarins last year, but was unimpressed by the tiny sizes.

Tbh, I shouldn’t really get anything as I am still working my way through stuff from last year. In my defence, I have been quite good at using it up. For example, I finally cracked and opened the Christophe Robin salt scalp scrub I got in a calendar last year. I had consigned it to a DoD but finally gave it a go. I actually quite like it!

@IlovePond Beauty Detective has just posted the full Look Fantastic reveal on Instagram.

It looks very good value for money, but far too much makeup and masks for me. I've got a growing drawer full of masks that I've collected for different calendars and boxes over the last couple of years and which I'll never use 😆

LF does look really good.

I haven't been tempted by LF before, but it does look very good. Good value too, although I'd take £85 off its content price as it contains that dodgy Avant brand.

Having said that, I have just looked through my existing stash/horde and am appalled at how many products I have that I still need to get through 🙀. There are certain things that I always use quite quickly in an a/c - shower gels, shampoo/conditioner, moisturiser/eye cream, perfume, mascara occasionally. The rest often disappears into the black hole that is my wardrobe.

I am quite annoyed with myself- I really thought I had been good at using stuff up. Please tell me I am not the only one!

@Housewife2010 I'm glad I'm not the only one sceptical about Avant and their price markups. Someone on reddit did a thread about them and their dodgy details.

I did an eye mask of theirs recently and swear I looked worse! Should have stuck with a cold teaspoon or cucumber.

Look Fantastic looks great, but I’m still so tempted to splash out on Space NK.

Just wondering if anyone can help me with this.. in the picture of the LF advent, is that a mascara on the top back left hand side? It looks like a black tube of mascara, but I don’t see mascara listed in the contents

I think it’s the The Nue Co Supa Thick and not a mascara
