Wear what suits you and flatters you, whatever weight/age.
You could carry a lot of weight on your hips and still be good in that.

That's a strong colour so make sure it's one that works on you.
I'm 65 and just don't show my knees, but otherwise have the same style I've always had.

It said that they only have it up to size 14 Atm, so unless they are back I stock before the venue any age and size 14.
If it fits and you like it just wear it.

Edited

Exactly. If it fits and I like it, it's for me.

helen32 · 10/06/2024 17:48

I think it’s a lovely dress & would be a flattering fit regardless of size. Amy age too. Go for it, I’m sure you’ll look lovely

Mylifesadrama · 10/06/2024 17:55

Doesn’t matter what size as long as they stock that size of course. As for age, it would suit any age

Sorrynotsorry22 · 10/06/2024 18:17

Lovely, forgiving dress for any age or size !

Jabdeb · 10/06/2024 19:13

You should wear what you feel good in x

Hearts2000 · 10/06/2024 19:41

Great dress, lovely colour. Empire waist and fit and flare are known to be flattering to all figures. Have a lovely time at the wedding. Ooh just saw your update about selling out! Lots of similar designs out there :)

OldPerson · 10/06/2024 19:50

If it's covering shoulders and knees, it's going to be the most flattering for any large lady. If it's a lovely dress, which it is, go for it.

Lifeomars · 10/06/2024 20:30

That is a gorgeous dress and I am sure you are a gorgeous woman who will look gorgeous wearing it. Go for it

I wouldn’t say you can be too old,
but clearly you can’t wear it if you are bigger than an 18 because that’s the biggest size they make.
I never understand they “am I too fat for this?” question because it is obvious if they make it in your size you are not.

Not entirely true

Depends where you carry the fat. I'm very podgy round the middle - a real apple and although I'm a 14 that dress would look awful on me

I have a friend who carries her weight totally differently and still has a relatively flat stomach and defined waist, although she's 18 plus most clothes look good on her

Age is irrelevant here

shehasglasses48 · 10/06/2024 21:51

It’s a lovely dress and is timeless. Great choice and I might get one myself x

SammyScrounge · 11/06/2024 01:21

It's beautiful and what a fabulous colour!

Thank you! I was just worried it might be a little bit "girly". Sadly, it's academic now because while I've spent 24 hours dithering, the bigger sizes have sold out in all colours i I like! Back to the drawing board.

Try Vinted! Search the exact brand, dress, size and colour you need and you may get lucky.

meganorks · 11/06/2024 08:53

I think you could be too young for this dress, but not too old! It's not saying slim twenty-something to me. But anyone else fine.

I actually think I ordered the denim version from M&S. Unfortunately it didn't work for me. I have a long body and a small waist. And the middle bit didn't hit my waist at all and made it feel big a bellowy on me.

blondiepigtails · 11/06/2024 11:20

Any age as long as it fits - especially your boobs. It doesn't look like it has much boob space!

SlenderRations · 11/06/2024 13:21

I have it in denim. V nice but I had to sew up the v a bit as was far too low. If you look, is v low on the model too. Comes sort of under the boobs!

starfleet · 11/06/2024 13:36

You're never to old for this one!

I have the long sleeved version of this dress in cord and also the black seersucker type fabric. It is beautiful on, although my work colleague did say the green cord was a bit 'Maid Marian' due to the billowy sleeves I'm a 10/12 and bought it in the 12 - the 10 was a bit snug under the bust. I wear a camisole underneath as it its very low cut.

Next also sell Nobody's Child online if that helps?

singingintherainrainrain · 11/06/2024 16:17

I wish more clothes sellers will get the idea to use fatter models to show their clothes esp online ones. Just from a practical point of view, it's hard to know if it looks good on someone fatter or shorter. Then they'll save in return costs!

helen32 · 11/06/2024 16:56

M&S sell it, try their website 🤞🏻

Lovesgotme · 11/06/2024 17:28

The biggest size available is size 14 so this is a daft question.

CurlewKate · 11/06/2024 18:08

@Lovesgotme "The biggest size available is size 14 so this is a daft question."

Other sizes were available when I originally posted- so this is a daft comment.

Try Fat Face they had a similar one with more flattering neckline perhaps… the red one was in the sale at 50% off!
(So I bought two!)

Scarletttulips · 12/06/2024 07:24

There’s an -18 in green when I looked this morning!
