Please help me find a wow dress for a destination wedding

I am going to a wedding In Cyprus in June and looking for some suggestions on a dress. I have over the past 8 months lost 6 stone and hoping to lose another stone by the time the wedding comes around. I'm looking for a wow dress! There will be people there that I haven't seen since the weight loss and I want to make a great impression.
I'm open to all suggestions, however I need to have sleeves to cover the top of my arms. I don't want to wear any cover up so would definitely need a dress with sleeves.
Budget around £100. Cant be yellow as this is the bridesmaids colour. I'm not keen on all the floral prints that are around at the moment. Would like it slightly fitted on the top as I am a pear shape with a small waist and wider hips. Blonde hair and in my early 40s.
Thanks

OP wants a "statement dress". This looks like a beach dress.

Op I think your choices are going to be too light in colour and the material too sweaty for Cyprus. Rayon ( that light green one ) will melt you in the heat.

Maybe something like this? https://www.asos.com/asos-design/asos-design-corset-drape-back-maxi-dress-in-deep-green/prd/205332371?_gl=1eowa61_up*MQ..&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIq4bI3arVhQMV5pxQBh1ThwYyEAQYHSABEgKFzPD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds#colourWayId-205332372

Light, has sleeves. Nothing to show sweat under your arms.

The colour is a bit miserable but maybe a similar style. Also well done on losing weight. Also to put it out there that many women get the tightest thing they can to show it off. It's not necessary as people can see you have lost a considerable amount.
It's better to look great in a fabulous dress than to be in something tight because you can. If people can see every lump and bump you haven't lost it could take away from your achievement.

I was thinking monsoon but they are over your budget so you could have a look on eBay
A lot of the clothes at Roman may look a bit frumpy but if you have a good look you do get the odd nice jumper or dress

They’re not frumpy at all!

Agreed, not suitable

Bignanna · 22/04/2024 14:35

Try Roman, lots of choice in many sizes. Well made and good occasionwear.

NeedAFuturePlan · 22/04/2024 16:49

Green, Bardot…

only left in 10 and under

This is cute and would show off your weight loss:

This is about the only dress so far that isn’t frumpy.

I am tempted by this one on Lavish Alice. However I am unsure if the material will be suitable?

It's reminiscent of the Lady Di 'revenge' dress. This & the next one would put you in danger of upstaging the bride.

Have you tried Style Cheat? They have some lovely dresses on there.

They are for 40+

Absolutemasterclassin making me furious before the day has properly begun.
I had no bloody idea there were age labels on grown women’s clothes.

Well you wouldn't see many teenagers wearing Roman. 🤷‍♀️

There’s a reason for that, they’re bloody awful. I’m in my 50s and if I ever get to the point of wearing something as bland and sensible as that I think I’ll take it as a sign that have given up.

Wheret0n0w · 24/04/2024 13:47

@maz82 you must come back with the wedding pictures in June 😀

I think you must be looking at the wrong site! Roman clothes are on a par with all the other famous firms!

NonPlayerCharacter · 24/04/2024 15:37

Roman is less dowdy than it used to be but the material is still just awful. I thought at one point they might work for basics like black trousers but I've completely given up.

I disagree. Then you are not looking properly . The OP may well find something she likes on there.

I hadn't ever looked at Roman and had only ever heard of it on here. I just looked and can see why it's divisive! Who's designing that, and who for?!

I’d say for women 30 plus. Why do you think it’s divisive? . It’s a range of clothes for everyday, and special occasions too.

Janetime · 17/04/2024 11:04

Stunned at the clothes people are recommending , particularly the frumpy romans stuff.

i have this, it’s lovely on, works for a pair as the skirt is a line and would be good in the heat and work for a wedding.

Seriously ? If we are insulting other people's fashion choices then I would say that the dress you've linked to is the definition of frumpy. And who wants to wear high necked polyester in the heat?

canyouletthedogoutplease · 24/04/2024 16:06

@Bignanna without wanting to offend I'm surprised it ever gets suggested, it looks like stuff you'd see hanging on rail on a market stall. I'm fiftyish and I don't know anyone my age or even my mum's age that dresses like that never mind anyone that's 30!

Horses for courses though, but that website is giving me static shocks from here! Its got major BHS vibes, and that was never known for it's style credentials but if you're after function over form maybe it's handy for basics? Who knows.
