Please help me find a wow dress for a destination wedding

I am going to a wedding In Cyprus in June and looking for some suggestions on a dress. I have over the past 8 months lost 6 stone and hoping to lose another stone by the time the wedding comes around. I'm looking for a wow dress! There will be people there that I haven't seen since the weight loss and I want to make a great impression.
I'm open to all suggestions, however I need to have sleeves to cover the top of my arms. I don't want to wear any cover up so would definitely need a dress with sleeves.
Budget around £100. Cant be yellow as this is the bridesmaids colour. I'm not keen on all the floral prints that are around at the moment. Would like it slightly fitted on the top as I am a pear shape with a small waist and wider hips. Blonde hair and in my early 40s.
Thanks

Stunned at the clothes people are recommending , particularly the frumpy romans stuff.

i have this, it’s lovely on, works for a pair as the skirt is a line and would be good in the heat and work for a wedding.

I am so glad I have read this comment... I am 38 so not far from 40's... some of these clothes are so frumpy and old fashioned.

Every one's different. I'm almost 65 and I wouldn't wear Roman. I wouldn't wear that Adriana Papell dress either- not because I'm almost 65 but because I find that type of dress really dull.

PrimalLass · 20/04/2024 08:21

I wouldn't wear it as the neckline is so high. I've liked almost nothing on here, and it's interesting how subjective taste in dresses is!

Sallyingon · 20/04/2024 09:35

I this would be cool to wear

Have you looked at Roman Originals ?

https://www.roman.co.uk/dresses

They are for 40+ so you get a lot of sleeves, half sleeves and cape style and the prices are very good as well

Was just going to suggest Roman originals.

But to be honest @maz82 if you wore a bin bag with a 7 stone weight loss people would be saying wow.

Nice to see someone recommend Roman as they get a bashing on here for some reason. In my experience they’ve been fine!

Thank you. The pink monsoon one may be a contender!

Or how about this?

@MyOtherCarisAVauxhallZafira

Some of the very expensive fashion forward suggestions are ghastly, or rather look terrible if you are over size 6, not 5'10 minimum and over 25. I sometimes wonder if people post them for a joke. Take the very first suggestions, which with sleeves on older women look like we've joined some religious sect.

The mainstream perfectly nice suggestions get knocked for being not out there enough

Thank you for the reccomendations so far. Not really seen anything that stands out to me except maybe the monsoon dress. For reference I usually like shops such as Zara, river island and AX paris. I'm now a size 10/12 with my bottom half being wider.
The wedding will be quite laid back and on the beach.

Hi, have a look at Silk Fred website, I've just bought a lovely dress from there.

We're going to a wedding in Cyprus too! 😊 and I'd been really struggling to find something to wear until I stumbled across their website.

Mayanatalia · 21/04/2024 20:25

I was thinking monsoon but they are over your budget so you could have a look on eBay
A lot of the clothes at Roman may look a bit frumpy but if you have a good look you do get the odd nice jumper or dress

Twisted Wunder make some gorgeous vibrant maxi dresses. I bought the Grace Marble one from Simply Be and it's just beautiful, a lovely mix of red, lilac, purple jade and yellow. Flutter sleeves, 2 side pockets too.Soft silky material and lined. Ankle length on me ( I'm 5ft 4.) A definite 'wow' dress and really doesn't look cheap despite only costing £36. 15% discount on top at the mo. Gonna wear to a wedding in a few weeks.

maz82 · 22/04/2024 08:06

This is one of my favourites so far. I have been looking on lavish Alice and they have quite a few amazing dresses. Thank you

None of these are "statement dresses". They look like awful cheap summer frocks.

maz82 · 22/04/2024 08:12

I am tempted by this one on Lavish Alice. However I am unsure if the material will be suitable?

Or this one? Again not sure if I should be trying to find a more flowy dress however I haven't seen any I like.
