Anyone not bother to get nails done for holidays?

Does anyone else not bother with nails etc for their holidays?
It's usually a standard thing but costs are up!

@Magyk i agree - painted nails really do look tacky.

I've only done it once, s friend was setting up a business so zi get her to do them. Haven't done it since and I hate the idea of acrylics, gels etc

I just do my own sometimes I don't bother with colour just tidy them up

I've only ever had my toes done once and that was because someone else was paying.

I CBA with it. Mine look fine with a bit of glitter in clear varnish. Or as a PP mentioned, Dior Glow is really good.

No. I have had two pedicures in my life and really enjoyed them but in general it's not worth the money to me. I have quite big fingernails and I don't think my hands look nice with nails done.

However. I do pay for lots of things MN doesn't necessarily approve of - waxing, facials, dying my hair, because I like those things. If you like getting your nails done, do. Aren't there nail bars at Gatwick and Heathrow now?

It's a waste of time. Save your money for a couple of cocktails by the pool!

I do love to get my toes done - mainly because my feet are a nightmare and I have the titchiest toe nails known to a mankind so - if was left up to me and my clippers I would have stumps!

I always have mine done, but I bought my own gel kit so I can do it when I have time. Also saves quite a bit of money.

I have one of those electric foot sanders, I love a good go on that then some foot cream and socks overnight. I quite often see people with 'done nails' but the skin on hands/feet is in poor condition. I'd rather look after that than put gels etc on

Only had my nails 'done' by another person 3 times in my entire life (now 45) Twice just polish, once gels. Never for a holiday. I know it's normal maintenance for some people but it just wouldn't cross my mind. I do my own from time to time, always toes if summer, fingernails less so as can't be bothered with the maintenance.

So if you're trying to budget I am sure you can DIY a decent job and no one will even notice, let alone judge.

I don't get my nails done at all because I prefer the way they look naturally.

If I did though, I'd probably be more inclined to get them done while I was at home and could show them off! Who cares what a bunch of randomers think on holiday!

Never bothered. I hate having the feel of anything stuck onto my nails, so I do it myself if I can be bothered. Bit of clear polish on the fingers and some colour on the toes.

No, I'll get my lashes done though so I don't have to bother with them.

Lol, no! I had them done for my wedding and one other time in my whole life! I don't really like it, or care about my nails.

I have my toes done for holiday I like the way they look in sandals, but I never get my fingernails done.
I have had gel on my hands before and they look nice but I end up wrecking them and they are so much hassle to take off and I don't like having long nails

Why does getting lashes done mean you don’t have to bother with them?

what is getting lashes done anyway? Dyed? Extensions? I always get a mental image if someone strapped to a tree getting their 20 lashes as punishment…

My nails are always done so not especially for holiday. If its a beach one I would have a wax and a spray tan as I don't sunbathe

Only had my nails done once for our honeymoon. I paint my own before I go & top up if necessary.

OP I’m equally as shocked by the responses. Everyone I know gets theirs “done” for holidays.

Interestingly, I’ve just been thinking today about what to do with my hands (toes will definitely be painted by a professional). I’m leaning towards the more natural look. I always go for a very natural colour anyway and I do like the look of my nails when they’re done but gel always makes them so weak - I’m thinking I might go and get them filed, cuticles trimmed but no colour/gels
