what have you got and what are you replacing? Anything on your wishlist?
I'm looking for casual dresses

Got these from Hush. Reduced to £13 I think.

CormorantStrikesBack They are great. Would look nice with a black linen dress or combat trousers, depending on your style.

CormorantStrikesBack · 16/04/2024 20:33

Yeah I think they’ll be quite versatile

DGPP · 16/04/2024 21:23

Tan sandals or if you want to splash out, Russell and Bromley have some lovely neutral flat sandals

I think I must be the only mumsnetter who won't wear tan anything. It just doesn't suit me. My sandals are blue or black.

Saurus72 · 16/04/2024 23:35

@CommeIlFaut Ah, I’ve been looking at that dress too. How is the sizing, I find White Company pretty generous with random exceptions, I’m thinking order one size down?

CommeIlFaut · 17/04/2024 06:11

Saurus72 It hasn’t arrived yet but I will let you know. I’m a large 12 or small 14 and ordered a 12.

Loving this thread, so much summer buy inspo and much more trustworthy than any influencer pages! I may have missed previous season's threads but hoping there is a repeat for every season!

I agree, it’s real people having a chit chat about what they like, not necessarily what’s on trend (because I’m very much NOT on trend😂)

This season I’ve probably bought the most clothes I’ve ever bought in a short space of time. I spent 25 years grossly overweight and had to panic buy something for every occasion, there was no pleasure in it. Now that I’m a “normal” size (12-14) I’m very much getting the enjoyment from clothes that I couldn’t understand others having!

charityshoppingstar · 17/04/2024 22:43

We’re going on holiday in 12 days so I spent a couple of weeks going to charity shops and (and a couple of clothes swaps) and I’ve now got loads of dresses (day and night), a playsuit, 2 jumpsuits, shorts, skirts, tops and a swimsuit and most of the day time stuff should work as my summer wardrobe after the holiday too 😋

I love this but I’m too short and they don’t sell it in petite 😭, also I never go anywhere nice to wear it.

This is lovely!
I'm at the airport now just about to go somewhere very hot for the week and just had a browse round Accessorize - they actually have some really lovely things in, perfect holiday dresses, jumpsuits and kaftans.

EllaPaella · 18/04/2024 04:39

The only summer item I've bought so far is a lovely pair of cropped white jeans from H&M. I have two trips to Spain coming up so planning on visiting Spanish Zara - it's much nicer than the UK store.

CommeIlFaut · 18/04/2024 06:15

EllaPaella some of the best summer are buys are at 4.30 at the airport!

Spanish shops make me like a Celtic giantess- the sizes are tiny. But Zara is lovely there (and a total gunfight at Westfield)

I’m after a pair of off white slim cropped jeans but really need to try them on as I have a strangely shaped lower half. I also want some super comfy tan or gold leather pumps. Hoping to persuade my greatest critic- DD15 to accompany me into London for a gallery, lunch and a mooch around the shops on May Bank Holiday.

CommeIlFaut · 18/04/2024 06:16

On that note, I don’t suppose anyone has a source of super soft leather pumps? Ones I can wear with no socks, with dresses, cropped jeans etc.

Monkeybutt1 · 18/04/2024 07:59

I desperately need some nice new t shirts and vests but I want good quality, any ideas where to go?

Reiss Tereza t shirts are pricey but nice quality and hold their shape if you wash on delicates in the machine

I have Sam Endelman which are soft or try Russell and Bromley

I got this one plus a black one for summer holidays. I struggle as very petite 🥲 so ordered in size 4 and 6 due to breasts dissapearing after stressful divorce!

I have that dress in blue saved in my 'favourites' at the moment . I do like the black one too. I'm thinking I should probably get it before it goes out of stock, even though I'm not really expecting to wear it until September .

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 18/04/2024 11:54

No, and I don’t really need anything, but will probably buy yet another striped ‘sailor’ top from Seasalt - pure cotton, elbow length sleeves. I must have about 6 already but there’s always room for another colour - I live in them in summer.

I tried these wide leg trousers on in Sainsburys today, but at 5'7" they were just a tad too short for me Sad

I was on the verge of buying them but my local store is out of my size. I put weight on about 2 years ago and bought a very similar pair. I have worn them to death but now I've lost the weight again they are too big.

Comefromaway · 18/04/2024 12:04

I have lost some weight so all the clothes I bought last year are too big plus I've realised that a lot of my other clothes are getting on for 10-15 years old and are rather worn.

I am on the hunt for a white ribbed vest top. I tried on in Uniqglo but it was too big on the shoulders.

I bought some new black jeans from M & S a couple of weeks ago but I have my eye on a blue pair that are very soft and light from Levi. Paige also have some gorgeous ones but they are so expensive and too long for me at 5ft 3.

I need some new sandals in either gold or natural colour and I quite fancy a neutral colour either denim jacket or cardigan type jacket (I quite like the M& S one linked above).

Comefromaway · 18/04/2024 12:06

I also think I would like to replace a long white flowy skirt that I bought from a Tenerife market stall about 12 years ago. The broderie anglaise has torn on it. or maybe a dress instead.

Comefromaway · 18/04/2024 12:08

I am also on the hunt for white trainers having not worn them for 30 years. I was thinking Veja or ????
