what have you got and what are you replacing? Anything on your wishlist?
I'm looking for casual dresses

Oh, so I don't think I've ever bought anything from White Stuff before because their aesthetic and style just isn't me, but this plain black dress seems to tick almost all boxes (no idea how lightweight it is). I could dress it up for evenings or wear it to work. Thoughts?

Marianne Linen Blend Dress in PURE BLACK

Shop the Marianne Linen Blend Dress in PURE BLACK. We love this linen blend dress so much, we decided to give you two options. Classic black or riot of colour. Pick your favourite. Or take both. (We couldn’t choose either.)

@Justkoko are they pods? I had a pink pair in my teens.

stardust777 · 15/04/2024 11:09

Yes!

I bought this:

I'm not entirely sure it suits me, but I'm keeping it. I was swayed by the price!

CormorantStrikesBack · 15/04/2024 11:24

@Pigtailsandall really nice dress, they do it in an orange/grey colour as well which is nice.

CormorantStrikesBack · 15/04/2024 11:30

God, I've just ordered that WS dress, I really need to hide this thread!

ThrillhouseVanHouten · 15/04/2024 11:40

I'm actually buying nothing this year. I surpassed myself with last summer's purchases. At a push, I need a new pair of cycling shorts.

RampantIvy · 15/04/2024 11:52

Next dress is going back. I'm 5'7" and it is too long.

That White Stuff dress is very elegant.

This is lovely, but is anyone else tired of black? The print version is not to my taste either.

I love the style of that dress, b ut the colours are dreadful. I often see something I like in White Stuff, but the muted colours just wash me out, and I dislike orange.

Lemonademoney · 15/04/2024 16:50

Next have some really nice bits. I bought a denim midi dress and some taupe linen trousers the other day then went back for a simple linen strappy play suit as I thought it would be perfect with a tshirt underneath for mornings at the beach in the U.K.

Justkoko · 15/04/2024 17:06

@Pigtailsandall @CormorantStrikesBack @Cyclingmummy1
Yes they are pods. Never had any but they look comfortable. Still trying to work out what my style is. I feel most at home in jeans and gazelles or similar and love retro styles but not quite sure how to pitch office shoes. It's not very corporate but striking a balance of smart and casual is quite tricky in the summer. I struggle to find flattering trousers.

Justkoko · 15/04/2024 08:27

@CormorantStrikesBack that dress is nice, I'd try it in the blue but no petite in my size.

Do these look a little...kiddy? With jeans. I love retro shoes like thus but not sure if I'd get double glances!

I ordered a few dresses from Next Petite as preparing for summer holidays already while I’m still wearing warm clothes with the heaters on lol! Following your thread for some inspiration!

Whoops.

Could you tell me where these shoes are from? I love them.

I love that and agree it ticks boxes

I’ve been trying to stock up on staples so have gone for the Reiss tereza t shirts which are thick and last years with careful washing. I’ve also got their wide leg linen blend trousers in navy and some white linen trousers from there. All expensive but I find Reiss can last years

Ah I thought of another thing I need ("need"). I'd like some sweatshirt-material shorts. I think they are just sweatshorts? For wearing in the garden and light exercise. Lot of the ones I've seen have a bulky waistband, and sometimes I find the material scratchy. Might one of those that I neex to hunt down from the store

CheeseSandwichRiskAssessment · 16/04/2024 13:58

I like this but wonder how practical it is 🤔

I bought these a bit ago, just noticed they say linen blend which surprised me, they're like a light jersey material. Buy Khaki Green Summer Knee Length Shorts With Linen from the Next UK online shop

I just had an absolute bargain! I was looking at buying some Nike AF1 trainers…£110 on ASOS which seemed to be standard. I wasn’t sure of sizing so thought I’d nip into town to actually try them on…I found the ones I’d been looking at in Office, tried them on-perfect!

They were only in the sale for £70! Then it got better….10% Blue Light discount so I got them for £63! I’m away to buy a lottery ticket 😂

I saw some "sweatshirt" shorts in Primark and New Look today.

I'm really enjoying this thread - it's the complete antithesis to the no buy threads 😆

CormorantStrikesBack · 16/04/2024 20:11

Yes tan sandals would be good and a lot nicer than the brown shoes they’ve styled it with.
