That's very interesting @lovehatesummer

I will visit but in terms of personal consultation it would take a lot to live up to Les Senteurs. My visits there have consistently provided some of the best customer service I've ever experienced. The staff are perfume obsessives who are incredibly knowledgeable about the art, science and intrigue of scent.

TheMurderousGoose · 14/03/2024 19:35

I noticed my £20 leave my account today, double checked to see when the hike to £25 would be and noticed the email said 'As you are still within your first three months of subscription, we are honouring your existing price for the next three months. So this change will be effective for you from 16th May 2024.'. Which is odd as I've been a BD member for well over a year. I'm not going to argue with them obv, but it further demonstrates how higgledy piggledy their databases are.

kenyaswhiterefrigerator · 14/03/2024 19:40

@TheMurderousGoose I think they sent a blanket e mail when it was first announced. It also said as I was a new customer it wouldn't set in until later. I've been there for a few tears so thought it odd.

They then sent an apology saying that I would be included in the price hike so who knows what's going on.

Well I’m on my own with not caring about the packaging then! I just don’t care about it, I have bought what’s inside and the external packaging is just clutter in my eyes. I’m not keeping it to store and have boxes etc hanging around with no purpose, pretty paper or whatever, I recycle it all straight away. If I buy a present for someone from somewhere I’m not going to put it in packaging from somewhere else!
However it does need to be functional and protective - things arriving unwrapped/damaged is not acceptable.

I also don’t mind, I’ve quite a few boxes/bags abd don’t need any more.

Yes, this, and the clarification email said the £5 increase would be effective 16 March.

So @TheMurderousGoose you've just squeaked in with a final £20 before the increase kicks in.

Thanks for the new thread.

I actually went into the store today, and bought a handbag. The bag was not shown as available on the website, but was in stock in the store. Service in store was excellent, and I was able to use my BD credit without issue. The bag was beautifully packaged, including tissue paper and an extra plastic covering as it was raining lightly outside.

It does seem a weird decision on Liberty’s part to have such a divergence between the in store and online shopping experience.

AprilLady · 14/03/2024 21:39

The new perfume area is interesting - obviously trying to compete with the Harrods perfume hall at the top of their store (which can be a quite intimidating, but I’ve had a really good experience when I’ve braved it in the past - much better than the overcrowded perfume area on the ground floor).

I had never heard of Les Senteurs before but have just Googled and will have to make a visit now! It sounds amazing.

@OooScotland 😂I'm not convinced the Liberty perfumes are worth the price truly.

Mm. I’m a ‘packaging’ person and really tempted to save up a really decent amount of money for a trip to London (from Aberdeen) to spend my Beauty Drop vouchers and then some in the physical store.

I haven’t been proper shopping in about five years and really miss it. Ordering treats online does nothing for me when they arrive looking as rubbish as the offerings from Liberty via Amazon do.

I think you’re right. There’s also a Floris London one I really want that is so, so lovely, still luxury at half the price of LbTy and their postal packaging is outstanding. 😎

Branster · 15/03/2024 07:02

Interesting about Liberty's Fragrance Lounge as I saw a notice from Beauty Bible about this yesterday and I've only just looked at their article (although, as it is the case with new launches, the information would be scripted somewhat for all press releases)

I've only had £20 taken out too, so looks like we got away with that one!

brogueish · 15/03/2024 08:03

@Branster thanks for that link, that’s interesting. I’m actually feeling more hopeful about Liberty now - I would love a niche perfume sample subscription. I was given one for Christmas a few years ago and it was brilliant. Unfortunately the more recent boxes seem to have lots of repeats so I’ve not resubscribed. If anyone’s interested, here’s the info though: https://bloomperfume.co.uk/pages/samples-subscription. I highly recommend it if you enjoy fragrance.

viques · 15/03/2024 09:16

Tagging on, I am sticking with BD until the April box then I might cash out.

AverageDuck · 15/03/2024 10:58

I unsubscribed last month as I don't agree with the monthly price hike. If the next box is amazing, I'm sure I'll be able to pick it up on Vinted!

My problem is, is that I've built up £385 in credit and no idea what to spend it on - any ideas? I'm happy to add a few extra hundred if it was something really nice. I loved the Vilhelm moon carnival perfume but was always out of stock!

ferretface · 15/03/2024 11:05

I'm going to go along to their fragrance lounge launch event - might use my beauty drop credit and I think I have a loyalty voucher too. Some nice gwps on offer.

Jellycats4life · 15/03/2024 14:05

Wow @AverageDuck how have you managed to save so much? I must be a total spendthrift because I could never have that much burning a hole in my pocket 😅

I’ve been in the scheme a few years, I have spent but had to return a few bits too. I was hoping last years advent was going to be worth it. Nothing has caught my eye for ages 😢

OooScotland · 15/03/2024 14:14

I’ve only been in for five months so I have £100 saved. Like others I’d be willing to put another couple of hundred towards something I really wanted, but the online selection is abysmal.

Its my birthday today (53 - how the hell did that happen??) and DH gave me a Liberty voucher - one of the physical ones with a necklace attached! “To top up that box thing you do”.

I’ve decided to save it and book a trip to London in a couple of months and just go to the store. Living in Scotland I haven’t been in for years.

brogueish · 17/03/2024 11:01

Hmm, I've just had a spammy looking email from "[email protected]" saying Whoops! They couldn't take my payment today due to failure of my card. The payment failure details say that they tried to take £20 too, I thought it was going up this month? There's nothing wrong with the card. Has anyone else had this? I hadn't got round to cancelling and today is my due payment day so the content looks authentic but it's a bit odd.

Growlybear83 · 17/03/2024 11:09

Yes I've just had the same message too. It doesn't look dodgy but I agree it's very odd.

listsandbudgets · 18/03/2024 11:10

I would contact Liberty to check especially if there is any request for your card details. From what people were saying a couple of weeks ago it sounded as if they'd had some kind of security breach so you can't be certain it's them.

I've just checked and its slightly different address from all emails I've had about beauty drop before which came from [email protected]

They could have changed it of course

TreesinthePark · 19/03/2024 12:13

Thanks @Jellycats4life I just ordered that from SpaceNK as it looks a good deal and plenty of new things for me to try.

CocoMascara · 19/03/2024 12:28

Thanks @Jellycats4life I’ve just ordered too, great value and double points on fragrance the moment!
