Thank you for the new thread @Housewife2010

You’ve put that so well @LemonJuiceFromConcentrate

Bimblesalong · 12/03/2024 21:26

@LemonJuiceFromConcentrate please take yourself into Dior Bond Street. Scarf packaging is divine (unless you get the lovely but inexperienced SA I had for my recent purchase who was clearly not trained in silks!). I usually buy Hermes scarves but after a trying time in Selfridges, the only place with one I wanted recently in stock, I decided on a diversion.

Sounds like a beautiful gift to yourself is due for your special birthday. Are you able to share which one you like?

Babysharkdoodoodood · 12/03/2024 22:34

I always keep the boxes and use them to make curated Xmas hampers for all the women in the family with lots of samples and full size beauty items. I was going to stop one year but my SDs (adults now) kicked off as they've been getting them for over 10 years now and it's the highlight of Xmas apparently.

Getting trickier though as they are vegan now so I have to google everything!

So yes I appreciate lovely packaging as it all gets re-used.

LittleBearPad · 12/03/2024 22:38

When spending a decent amount of cash it is nice to feel the retailer cares a smidge to package it well.

WeAreBorg · 12/03/2024 22:40

Thank you for the new thread!
I can confirm that my maxmara coat was wrapped in brown paper and chucked in a box. I just accepted it at the time, so resigned I am to everything just being shit

Can anyone remember when the loyalty vouchers are next issued?

I think it’s normally fairly early April

LemonJuiceFromConcentrate · 12/03/2024 23:48

ah thank you, @Bimblesalong. I’m sure Dior is amazing! I live in Scotland though, so won’t get there for a while.

This is the scarf I’ve been looking at. I’m after something very large, but light and soft — so it can be folded and wrapped to be just bulky enough, but not too bulky.

I have a few vintage Liberty shawls in Varuna wool with similar dimensions, which I’ve worn for years and years. They’ve been perfect but lately I’m starting to find they irritate my skin (probably something to do with getting older, sigh) so it’s an attempt to upgrade.

@LemonJuiceFromConcentrate I ordered a Paul Smith scarf at Christmas and can confirm it came nicely presented in a purple Liberty box

CassandraWebb · 13/03/2024 00:51

Hopping on.. I haven't cancelled yet as am curious to see what April's box is like and also because I can't find any other subscriptions that appeal!

Just ordered a few bits and pieces from liberty but it is frustrating how often stuff I bought before isn't in stock

Bimblesalong · 13/03/2024 07:07

@LemonJuiceFromConcentrate thar is truly lovely, thankyou for sharing.

WeAreBorg · 13/03/2024 07:33

@LemonJuiceFromConcentrate that’s gorgeous!

HellsBells67 · 13/03/2024 08:21

Love that scarf!

The more I think about it, the more the packaging tees me off. I ordered a very expensive silk robe that was also soaked and was scrunched up into a tiny brown paper bag in a million wrinkles. Even Amazon don't usually use such crap wrapping for their own items! A max mara coat should be sent in a carriage befitting it's gorgeousness!

Jellycats4life · 13/03/2024 08:22

I hope Liberty have been lurking on this thread and taking advantage of this feedback. Doubt it though!

I have a suspicion that the April box is going to be in exactly the same vein as all the others, in which case I’ll be cancelling.

RedSwans · 13/03/2024 08:36

No GWP full of BD leftovers so far this week. Here’s hoping they’re working on a better GWP that will be out soon.

PurpleWhirple · 13/03/2024 09:15

I'm with you TheChosenTwo, couldn't care less about packaging!

Moonlightsonatas · 13/03/2024 12:19

Liberty is selling a premium product, but doesn’t always feel like it’s a premium service. I think they really need to focus on making customers feel good or they’ll just purchase elsewhere. I’ve bought candles direct from Diptyque and they come in a lovely box with samples of perfume and skincare.

periodiclabel · 13/03/2024 12:57

The whole point of BD was to stop people like me buying products cheaper and with added frills elsewhere but as was much discussed on the last thread perhaps they don't care about someone like me spending £240 a year with them and are pursuing bigger fish. I also think the FT article indicating a push into own brands says it all ... most boutique-type stores and websites try to go harder and harder into own brands and they make a way bigger profit there.

Thisisallabitshit · 13/03/2024 14:18

PurpleWhirple · 13/03/2024 09:15

I agree, I like beautiful packaging for a gift but if I’m buying for myself I’d rather not have a ton to throw away and feel guilty about. But I do expect things sent through the post to be protected so that they arrive in good condition and it doesn’t sound like that’s happening here.

Peridot1 · 13/03/2024 14:31

Thanks for the new thread.

I haven’t decided whether to carry on with the BD. Like others will see how the next box is.

TheChosenTwo · 13/03/2024 14:33

Ahh I’m not quite so alone @PurpleWhirple 😂

OooScotland · 14/03/2024 00:12

I haven’t cancelled…yet. I’m another one who is very disappointed by Liberty’s downmarket postal packaging. I spent about £100 at Murad’s website last week and got a beautiful Murad branded sturdy box, lots of carefully arranged tissue paper and three travel sized samples. Absolutely made my day.

Parcels from Liberty come from Amazon. That says it all really.

seathewayahead · 14/03/2024 00:18

Another one who is waiting to see what April’s box is like. I did spend all my credit the other day and got a GWP too which was basically all old stuff from previous boxes including things they no longer stock like the space masks (which I really like when I’ve got a headache)

OooScotland · 14/03/2024 15:10

lovehatesummer · 14/03/2024 14:25

I thought this was really interesting, especially v their approach for online deliveries!

https://theindustry.beauty/heres-everything-you-need-to-know-about-libertys-new-luxury-fragrance-lounge/

Honestly, I feel slightly panicked just thinking about receiving that kind of attention in a shop. Luckily the amount expected to be spent by clients in there (I’m assuming it would start in the high thousands per visit?) rules out the possibility of me ever seeing it). I’m still dithering about buying a single bottle of LbTy from the last beauty drop for £200.

WhoaJayShettybambalam · 14/03/2024 15:21

Ooh new thread. Thank you @Housewife2010

Next box is April isn’t it?
