@faustina have you tried Le Bon Shoppe city shorts yet? (I think you said you were tempted before?) I’m picking some up today, I fear I may have ordered the sizing a bit optimistically!

@Snowyowl78 - yes they are on my list, but I haven't done anything about it yet as I want to go through my shorts collection (mainly Cos) first. Which colour did you get and would you show when you try them on? I'd love to know how long they are in the leg (hate short shorts on me)

I have recently discovered Toast (and this thread). I was wondering what their usual sale structure is, if any?

Oh, and any staple piece recommendations?

Not sure what you mean by 'sale structure' - do you mean discount sales or something else?

@Stoic123 Apologies, what I meant was.. do they regularly have sales, or is it more structured that they only have sales twice a year in spring and winter?

Same goes for discounts, is it worth holding out for? Do they ever offer 10% if you subscribe?

@JammyDodger101 small sales March and possibly September/October. Occasionally an archive sale. Discount like hens teeth. Definitely don’t hold your breath for one.

@JammyDodger101 - expanding a bit on @Countmeout's post. Yes, two main sales a year - in June and in December (after last Christmas mailing). These last several weeks (feels like several months) as additional stock then returns are added to site. Usually short sales in March ('end of Winter') and September ('end of Summer'). Sales are online only. If you miss something in a sale, then worth checking next time for returns.

There may be a specific promotion (e.g. 20% off Fair Isle jumpers) but this seems to be random and rare. Toast no longer does regular new season discount offers but a few customers (hens' teeth indeed) might get a 20% off offer (never had one myself).

There are occasional sample sales in shops (seems to be limited to Shepton Mallet and the odd London store), sometimes done for charity. No idea if there is a pattern to this but doesn't appear so.

The more 'seasonally themed' an item is, the more likely it is to end up in a sale though most things end up there. If you are a size XXS or XS, you have a better chance of getting what you want in a sale as larger sizes seem to go first.

@JammyDodger101 also to add to the excellent sales info already given by @Stoic123 and @Countmeout …. We do love a bit of analysis of past years’ sales dates and timings on this thread. So, near sales time you can expect us to be exchanging our predictions for when the next sale might go live. We usually spot it before the Toast email goes out announcing the sale. In the old days we often found a sneaky way into the sale before it went live but they’ve got wise to us and I think ‘locked up’ the sales part of the website a bit more securely so that’s rare now. We do love a sale and the thread gets very lively when there’s one on!

And last year's summer sale started Tues 13th June. Barely 10 weeks away!

@faustina oh I think I missed that! Good to know. I stumbled on it accidentally this time. I just randomly logged on and it was live. Glad we’ve still got the sleuths among us 👍

Thank you all for the info, I’ll definitely be keeping an eye on this thread in future! Perhaps I’ll hold out for a few weeks and see if a sale comes up in June.

All this talk is making me think wistfully about when TOAST did sales in their stores.

i bought things 5th and 7th July last year
there was a sale around that time

Last summer was a long one - my first sale order was 13th June and my last was 18th July. Crumbs.

Also embarassed to see that I've already sold on 3 of the items I bought in that sale.nThat was my last stupidly wild splurge (apart from Christmas decorations/bubles 😬).My buying rate has dropped off (and I wear everything bought since a lot).

@JammyDodger101 - this a dangerous place at sale time. We are all dreadful enablers and abetters.

@Stoic123 Haha, love it! To be honest I find the prices eye watering😬 but over the last few years I’ve been happy to spend/invest in clothes that I can throw on and feel good in. It makes life feel so much less complicated when trying to wrangle DC and get ready for work in the morning (or that’s what I tell myself!).

Might anyone know how often Toast do Reworn uploads? I’ve not been keeping an eye on it…

@FitzLea not sure but there hasn't been much on there for a few weeks now.

@FitzLea I bought reworn in October and February. I think there was a drop in between that I missed/ hadn’t my size in anything I wanted, so maybe every couple of months. It seems to disappear very fast with the odd item reappearing constantly.

Thanks @mizu and @Countmeout I got a lovely linen dress in the last upload so I’m hopeful of another one quite soon.
