@Countmeout @Stoic123 can you tell if the jacket has pockets? I’m thinking it doesn’t?

Stoic123 · 23/03/2024 08:08

@Snowyowl78 - I'm not expecting pockets. I have another wrap jacket from Toast - a lovely red embroidered one (see pic). It looks a similar material weight and style (Wrap to side, deep side splits etc) and there are no pockets in that one.

It was looking at the red jacket in my wardrobe, and wondering if I'd wear it a bit more if it was plainer, that prompted me to relook at the blanket stitch one.

Countmeout · 23/03/2024 08:20

No I don’t think so @Stoic123 . I’ve a feeling it might be warmer/ heavier than that red jacket - which is lovely btw.

@Countmeout - I'm looking for more of a winter jacket so that's good.

I'm excited about its arrival now. Thanks for the info 😀

Countmeout · 23/03/2024 08:40

Sorry just saw it was @Snowyowl78 who asked - too early for me , brain not arrived yet.

Morning everyone, hope all having a lovely weekend and enjoying the sale. Do we anticipate more to be added today or is it likely that this is it as it’s due to end Monday?

AmethystMoonShine · 23/03/2024 11:11

@MiracleToast I’d say that’s probably it. From memory they only keep adding in their longer sales in June and December.

AmethystMoonShine · 23/03/2024 11:11

Which drives me potty as I keep checking to see what I might have missed 😂

MiracleToast · 23/03/2024 11:14

Yes I’ve been optimistically checking frequently too @AmethystMoonShine

OftenOrange · 23/03/2024 12:49

First order due to arrive Monday , and like @AmethystMoonShine and @MiracleToast I’m checking for new additions.
Just taken a gamble on the Chambray blouse with gathered front and full sleeves, one of the reviews said it has an Arts and Crafts vibe .
Hoping it will work as a pale blue shirt under my tank tops if it’s not too bulky .
I nearly bought a pale blue shirt in Zara for the same price, but am glad I didn’t as I don’t admire the company.

Stoic123 · 25/03/2024 12:11

1st sale order received. Very nice pair of cosy Chup socks that are staying. Hope your sales orders are successful. too.

Nice socks!

Is the sale over already?! That was short!

Trinitybean · 25/03/2024 13:08

Completely forgot sale ends at noon!

Trinitybean · 25/03/2024 13:10

Can I please ask, has anyone bought the Digoin oil pourer? The two they've sent have a different stopper to the one on the webpage, it's really lovely but would prefer the one with the rubber topped stopper.

OftenOrange · 25/03/2024 13:34

First parcel arrived , the Annie Slate cords I thought would be a winner aren’t staying . They seem totally unlike my beloved denim Annies and although they fit perfectly I’m not loving the look of them nor the fact that they pick up every tiny fluff around.
On the other hand I love the Ikat Polka stripe Trousers , they’re so damned comfortable and soft on the skin and the despite initially thinking they were ugly they’ve grown on me , very Japanese looking with a long white shirt and great with the navy Alpaca waistcoat from Winter.
Love the lime boatneck jumper , great buy.
Biggest success surprise is this patterned yoke jumper which is a lovely neat shape and a really illuminating colour with the touches of yellow and white.
All in all very happy 😃

sonjadog · 25/03/2024 13:37

That is a lovely jumper. I really like the colour combination.

faustina · 25/03/2024 13:44

oh I love the patterned yoke @OftenOrange - that is very pretty!

I'm not sure about most of my things yet. The padded jacket is going straight back because it looks awful on me, and also the loopback navy sweatshirt top. the neck is quite tight and it feels sort of rigid, not soft and stretchy like a sweatshirt should be

The wool cashmere cardigan is so soft and warm but it's not 100% the right colour. The walnut workwear jacket is also quite rigid and the sleeves are only ok with a tshirt - too tight to get a jumper under them - it is a really nice colour though and would fill a hole in my wardrobe. the mariner jumper is fine if not a little big sidewise, but I'm not sure it's nice enough to keep. I'm going to have a think.

faustina · 25/03/2024 13:45

Forgot to say - love the splendid socks @Stoic123 !

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 25/03/2024 13:50

My solitary sale buy arrived - the carbon black emma. I’m glad I sized up to a L as it seems to be a very similar size to all my previous medium emmas.
Not very exciting but I know it will be useful.

whinsome · 25/03/2024 14:09

Arghh, just lost a long post.

Two package arrived, two more to come but I've not had despatch notices for them.

Not sure I'll be keeping anything so far.

The lime boatneck sweater is a beautiful colour and shape but it just catches my neck, which I hate, and the area where the main body joins to the boat neck has gaps (going from single to double thickness, I guess, not a knitter!) and I just know I'd end up with a hole there before long. Such a shame as the colour is absolutely gorgeous - nothing like how its come out in that photo!

@OftenOrange did you find similar around the neck on yours? I've been eyeing up those ikat trousers - glad to hear they are lovely and soft.

Tassel hat is beautiful colour but shape doesn't suit me so going back.

Navy boat neck - nice shape and material but was hoping for a more interesting navy. I have plenty of cotton long sleeve tops, so that's going back.

Now, the toffee cord skirt. This is a maybe. Beautiful soft cord, a good length on me and a lovely warm colour, but not sure I like the elastic as it's a bit bunchy around the waist. Would go with plenty in my wardrobe.

Will wait and see for the green cord skirt to arrive before I make a decision. I also have the orange cord sleeveless dress coming which could be fun!

Hope everyone finds something gorgeous in the sale.

Bit jealous of the socks, I went back in for some but the one's I'd been eyeing up and had sold out. They look lovely and warm @Stoic123 - could do with a pair like that today!

Countmeout · 25/03/2024 15:11

Mine arrived a day before I expected.
Emma T - keeper I bought the chalk and like @Theteapotsbrokenspout szed up.
Alix trousers , not tried on yet.
The brown coat. This is a lovely quality. But it’s a tad too small despite being a size I have in other coats. I will probably buy in the next sale .

FitzLea · 25/03/2024 16:04

@faustina did you find the neck of the mariner very pointy, like standing up on your shoulders?

faustina · 25/03/2024 16:10

@FitzLea I don't think it was? Will go and try it on again. I know we were all a bit worried about the sizing but I think it's quite generous. Does yours stick up?

Stoic123 · 25/03/2024 16:14

@OftenOrange - lovely jumper on you.

OftenOrange · 25/03/2024 16:20

@faustina What a pain that the Walnut workwear jacket can’t be worn over anything thicker than a t shirt , craziness from Toast design team .
@Stoic123 Lovely socks , I got the browny ones and am thrilled as they seem to have sold out in the Winter
@whinsome Just took a look at the lime boat neck jumper and at the back I can see there are a couple of places when the yarn looks v thin and there is a tiny gap. I’ll be keeping it though, I don’t think it’s going to be a problem as there isn’t going to be tension there and even if a hole develops….well that can be fixed free by Toast . The price is brilliant and I love the jumper , it will go to France with me to be worn if it’s ever chilly ( I wish , our area is near Spain and coolness would be v welcome)
