I think possibly @AFingerofFudge . Things have moved around on the website. Tonight??

Ooh @Countmeout I hope you're right as I have a day off today and it would suit me perfectly in terms of having time to look.

The last time the sale started I was on a windy mountain trying to look where I was going and look at the sale stuff on my phone - my family thought I was crazy Grin

ScottishMouse · 14/03/2024 14:07

I reckon next Thursday for a small sale, based on last year’s dates.

Qweesh · 14/03/2024 14:26

LightandBreezy · 14/03/2024 09:43

@Qweesh no I've not worn mine yet, still feels too chilly for them. I've got the opposite problem ( bigger left foot!) I'm relying on them being extremely comfortable as I justified them as being for festivals!

@LightandBreezy they are comfy, it just seems to be the stitching at the back of my right heel, otherwise they’re great. I had been wearing with big socks to try and stretch a teensy bit.

faustina · 14/03/2024 20:09

I have the map green gabis in my bag, and it says the model is wearing an 8. Has anyone bought gabis since the new sizing? Are they smaller or the same size? I really like that colour! I also have the indigo shirt with pockets in my bag and am similarly clueless about which size to go for. I think my cotton linen one is an 8. Does anyone have the indigo one?

A sale would be nice too! Maybe this time someone will find the magic back door into it

Stoic123 · 14/03/2024 20:24

If matches last year, then next Thursday (or close) for a sale.

I got some some lovely jumpers last March.

ScottishMouse · 14/03/2024 20:48

@faustina , I tried the indigo shirt and my cotton linen one is also an 8. I found the new M was just slightly smaller than my old shirt in 8, and the L was a bit bigger. Neither size was quite right on me, and the fabric felt a bit insubstantial too, so I didn’t buy it. Hope that might help.

faustina · 14/03/2024 20:49

@ScottishMouse - yes it does- thank you!

Unwitting · 14/03/2024 20:55

I tried the new green gabis - exactly the same size as the old gabis. The colour is lovely but I just couldn't quite make it work with my shy sludgy wardrobe. I did keep the blue chambray shirt which is beautiful & light & loose for summer. I ordered an M & am a hs 12-14.

MiracleToast · 14/03/2024 21:00

@AFingerofFudge this is so relatable 😂

Countmeout · 14/03/2024 21:21

Didn’t they start at 8 am one sale? Sort of caught us out - well me anyhow I was still in bed.

faustina · 15/03/2024 06:16

@Unwitting - thank you very much! I'll check the gabis I have and order the same

sonjadog · 15/03/2024 08:52

I hope there is a sale! I am still pondering the apron dress. I might order it up if it is on sale. Although it doesn't seem likely as it is fairly new...

oddandelsewhere · 15/03/2024 12:01

So I was in the Harrogate shop yesterday, and I think it was probably the only time I didn't find a single thing I liked! I was hopeful about the nasturtium cabin check dress but although I liked the style the fabric is just too thin for me. The last dress I managed to buy and keep was the landscape check linen one, and a couple of crinkle dresses. I wish they would make some dresses out of better quality fabric even if they were more expensive. I would also say that the placement of the stripes was awful, the yellow stripes are by far the most prominent, and they hadn't been centred on the bodice or the skirt which gave it a very lopsided look. I' m going to start dressmaking again, I can definitely do better than that!

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 15/03/2024 13:39

That’s a shame @oddandelsewhere , I can remember my mum carefully pattern matching everything on the clothes she made, unfortunately I haven’t inherited her dress making skills.

I’ve ordered the dark olive stripe dress today, quite a change from my normal style, really hoping it will suit me.

Countmeout · 15/03/2024 14:00

You know I’m going through stuff that might be in the sale and questioning whether I want to buy any winter stuff. It always means putting away for next year . I’m so over winter atm, although it’s only 12 here and so windy I’ve got the Alix out and am dying to get into more summery stuff.

I’ll be interested to see how you get on with the olive stipe dress @Theteapotsbrokenspout . I’ve tried mine with a few things and am happy how it slots into my wardrobe.

I’m slightly surprised the waistcoat seems to have sold so well as we all seemed to want to alter it.

Countmeout · 15/03/2024 14:28

Oh just noticed it’s now on preorder again due May. May seems very far away.

OP posts:
ScottishMouse · 15/03/2024 14:41

I hear you @countmeout. It is cold and miserable here today, but I can’t bear the thought of winter stuff anymore. I can’t wait for it to feel ok to go out with a lighter coat and some trainers instead of boots. I am also thinking about what I might order in a sale, bearing in mind that I have learned that buying out of season leaves me with things I no longer like/fit when the right weather comes around.

Nanasueathome · 15/03/2024 15:16

It was 23rd March last year when I ordered sale items
not sure if the sale started just before that date

on another note, I had several items in my basket as I’m still debating with myself and have gift cards to use
they’ve removed everything from my basket…it’s now empty

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 15/03/2024 17:14

The dark olive dress has been despatched straight away @Countmeout , I'm hoping it will arrive Monday.

I didn't buy anything in the March sale last year , and I don't really want to buy any more winter stuff this year, I think it would have to be really special to tempt me.

This week I wore a Toast dress that I bought in the sale and made into a pinafore, as the original shape didn’t work for me and I liked the material too much to want to return. I am pleased with how it turned out.

That’s a really great alteration @sonjadog .

I like it too @sonjadog - well done!
