@Snowyowl78 - oh dear! Which size do you have? They had quite a few sizes at the shop @Sooverthemill mentioned - Tea and Kate

Snowyowl78 · 07/03/2024 16:15

@faustina i got a large, so I think I need a medium. Strange because I tried a skirt from them in a large and it was tiny! Which shop is yours from?

ScottishMouse · 07/03/2024 16:24

@Snowyowl78 i tried the vneck one and that didn’t work for me either sadly.

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 07/03/2024 16:32

I do like that green stripe dress @Countmeout , although the length is surprising. And the pinafore is lovely, that tee works really well under it.

Snowyowl78 · 07/03/2024 16:58

@faustina thank you! Sounds like a good shopping experience!

Snowyowl78 · 07/03/2024 17:02

@faustina im having second thoughts actually, I’ve tried them on with a neater top and I think perhaps they do work. I suffer dreadfully with bloating so they could be just the ticket! I think your second link might be a different version?

faustina · 07/03/2024 17:11

@Snowyowl78 that's odd - I just tried the tea and Kate link and it takes me to the denim arc pants in a medium? They are fabulous for days when you have bloating, but they also haven't stretched out at all - have worn mine every day except today

Snowyowl78 · 07/03/2024 17:24

@faustina you are correct! Sorry, I was being silly.
now I’m tempted to get the medium for when I’m not bloated haha

Countmeout · 07/03/2024 18:56

Thanks all.

I’ll look forward to hearing how the dress goes when you get the other size @AvaGardens .
I’ve watched the video now. I think my dress is taken up to some extent by my generous bust 😳. I thought it was poor when someone in chat asked to see it without the cardigan they didn’t respond to that. It looked a bit weird with the cardigan imo. At first I thought it was a cross body bag. Obvs need an eye test.

@ScottishMouse this T-shirt is straight. It’s quite long but then I got a big size because I have a bust. It’s quite thin. You’d nearly think there was a touch of Lycra in it but I checked the label and it says 100% cotton. I only want it for under the pinafore so the thinness is ok. It’ll be interesting to see how it washes.

@faustina I think that pinafore will go into sale possibly. It is so comfortable to wear.

Thanks @Theteapotsbrokenspout . The length thing is a bit weird. I thought from the post on Instagram this morning it would be far too long on me. Where is it in length on you @AvaGardens ?

OP posts:
AvaGardens · 07/03/2024 19:14

I'm 5'4'' same as you I think? @Countmeout
It's the same length as your photo.

I do wonder sometimes if the tall models in the website pics, or even presenters, are given sample sizes that are that little bit longer?!

I also have the crinkle pinafore and one from an earlier collection. We seem to have a similar style!
The pinafores are SO versatile and I do tend to live in them 😁

Countmeout · 07/03/2024 19:17

I wondered that too @AvaGardens .
I forgot to say the pockets are amazing for mushrooms!!! Secateurs!!! Bulbs!!! Whatever 🤣

I love that dress on you @Countmeout . I will be interested in hearing how that tee washes/wears as it’s on my wish list. Glad to hear it’s straight- A line makes me look like I am about to set sail!

ScottishMouse · 07/03/2024 19:22

Definitely interested in that tee now I know it is straight and longer, thanks @Countmeout . Did you say you got a L, how does that compare to other Toast tees you have? No idea what size to order in jersey tops anymore.

Countmeout · 07/03/2024 19:36

Thanks @Dee1224 Im sure it’ll need washed before long.

@ScottishMouse Im finding the new sizing in jersey things really small. I used to buy S or M .
my Francis ls tees are S and M. I have a boat neck T in what I think is old sizing in an L and considered it too big ( bought because of the colour and that’s all was left). But I bought one at Christmas when I was over and had to take the L. So I looked at the measurements and knew then it would take L in this one. I don’t have any of the ones you talked about - was it Emma- this one is definitely thinner than the boat neck tops. The neckline is good on it for putting under things. I find the boat necks very wide in the neck.

Thanks @Countmeout.

D20 · 08/03/2024 07:15

That dress looks great with and without the waistcoat @Countmeout

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 08/03/2024 10:13

Just been to send back my returns and the local post office, that is only open 3 mornings a week anyway, is not opening today. So I’ve either got to wait until Monday or make a 12 mile trip into town. So annoying.

canina · 08/03/2024 11:20

Sending back the beautiful soft (non itchy) putty cardigan as the pockets sat too high on my boobs. it's shorter than I expected and did me no favours.

The very expensive miniature watering can is staying as it is delightful 😀

ScottishMouse · 08/03/2024 12:53

Went to my local store today to try the new half sleeve tshirt. Unfortunately, not for me. The cream colour was too see-through and the navy was not dark enough for what I wanted. It is a good shape though, would work well for layering.
I spied, but did not try, this cardigan. I tried it in other colours a few seasons back, but ultimately ended up sending back because it wasn’t perfect. But this colour is so good. I’m tempted. I feel like it has gone up a lot in price from previous seasons though.

I also tried what they are now calling the Alda tee in Breen. Lovely colour. I have the old version, which was called the easy tee, and happened to be wearing it. Mine is a xs, I tried a M in the new version and it was considerably smaller than my old XS! Crazy sizing yet again.

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 08/03/2024 13:15

I received the garden bloom bandana today in blue, really pleased with the new shape, and lovely colour.

Also the Olive stripe boxy shirt in a M which fits really well. I loved everything about it and think it will be very versatile, I’ve yet to try it with the matching trousers as it’s so cold here today I couldn’t bear the thought of getting undressed again.
I see what you mean about the sleeves being wide @AvaGardens , but I think they will soften and hang better over time.

AvaGardens · 08/03/2024 13:21

@Theteapotsbrokenspout I'm pleased you like it! Yes, thought the same, as it softens, but I also tried it with the cuffs turned back and I quite like it that way too.

Countmeout · 08/03/2024 14:07

Thanks @D20 .

@ScottishMouse yes quite see through in cream, good under things though. Weird washing instructions I noticed to as I put it on, it says wash inside out also do not put in a pile , like what. ? I will report back.

Freezing here too @Theteapotsbrokenspout . Annoying about the post office. Ours shut unexpectedly a couple of months ago but the other which is nearest for me is only 2/3 miles and I can go to M&S on the same run, not a hardship. Look forward if you feel you can post a photo of both top and trousers together.

Disappointing about your cardigan @canina , very cute wateringcan.
