Saw this on Instagram and did a double take as at first I though it the Toast coords . But it’s Plumo. However it gives the idea of the stripe trousers and top together. I don’t think it looks too pyjama like.

My order arrived this morning.

The Wood Ash waistcoat is a definite return, even in a L it gapes on me between the first and second button. It’s also too low cut for me to wear on its own. I can’t think how to describe the colour, it has an almost green tinge, it reminds me of when I washed a cream top with a pair of green Ashley trousers. I did try to take a photo but the colour doesn’t really show correctly.

The Oil Cloth barrel leg trousers in a M are quite big, and I agree there is a lot of excess material at the front. They arrived very crumpled, I’m going to iron them and try them again. Possibly something I would buy in the sale.

The Linen stripe trousers in a M reach my ankles, so I’m not sure if they look right. They also have a crease at the front which I need to iron out to see if they hang better.

I shall wait for the matching shirt, which hasn’t been despatched yet, before I make a definite decision on the trousers.

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 06/03/2024 10:27

@Countmeout But she is young and slim, not old and misshapen like me 😁. She can easily carry off the 'pyjama' look.

whinsome · 06/03/2024 10:53

@Theteapotsbrokenspout Thanks for the feedback on the Wood Ash colour. That's probably going to be a no from me then. Shame about the waistcoat sizing - sounds as though the largest size would be unlikely to fit me anyway.

Countmeout · 06/03/2024 11:21

Thanks for the info on the waistcoat @Theteapotsbrokenspout . That is a no from me too then.
What height are you? Why on earth have they put a crease at the front?

OP posts:
Theteapotsbrokenspout · 06/03/2024 11:42

I'm 5' 4" @Countmeout - I don't think the crease is intentional , hopefully just the way they were folded.

I see there is a review on the waistcoat making the same comments. Although the reviewer says they will move the buttons and dye the waistcoat a different colour. I'm afraid I'm not that dedicated.

Countmeout · 06/03/2024 11:59

i saw that review @Theteapotsbrokenspout . Sounds like too much effort. In any case I would want it to be cream , but a parchment or chalk. You couldn’t get it to that colour.
I'm 5”4 , I looked up the measurements a few minutes ago. They do seem awfully long.

AvaGardens · 06/03/2024 17:50

That's a pretty scarf @Theteapotsbrokenspout

I had a final delivery from my small foray into the new Spring collection.
The Cotton Gathered Patchwork Skirt is a no for me, I love the mix of the different blues, but it's an odd material, thin, without the heft to anchor all that material.
But what decided it was the stiff elasticated waist, unlike previous stretch waists this is in two separate sections, front and back, quite wide and very stiff on me.

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 06/03/2024 19:03

I’m not sure if I like that shape of tee @Countmeout £85 seems quite a lot as well.

The Oil Cloth barrel leg trousers are definitely being returned, they looked even bigger after an iron. Not even one for the sale I don’t think.

I do like the linen stripe though, they look better for being ironed.

oddandelsewhere · 06/03/2024 19:43

I have been looking at that dress@Theteapotsbrokenspout , in fact it's one of the few things I think might suit me from the new drop. I've got very dark hair and as someone else said all of the very pale greens and cream would look awful on me. The dress is called Franca, and the navy twill Franca dress was my favourite last summer. I will be in Harrogate next week and hope to try it on. I'll report back!

Anyone else feel that Toast are just taking absolutely ages for parcels to reach Royal Mail /Evri? I got a refund on my Toast delivery because I booked it to come in 1/2 days. I paid the £6.00 although I am kindred but Toast took absolutely ages for it to reach Evri in the system. Think I waited about 4 days. I have now ordered the linen dress with the tiers. Ordered it really early Monday morning.
I got a dispatch notice yesterday morning for it but it still says on the tracking just now that they RM are 'expecting it' What on earth is going on? Seems like a go slow right now. Its really annoying me. Wish they would re- introduce RM24 deliveries. I used to love having things delivered on a Saturday. Now Evri doesn't if you order before the weekend and neither do DHL. It is really a rubbish choice of postal options. Oh and the Royal Mail standard delivery takes absolutely ages.

sonjadog · 06/03/2024 20:47

@AvaGardens Thanks for that report on the skirt. I have been looking at it too, but it sounds like it is definitely not to me from your description.

MiracleToast · 06/03/2024 20:57

@neveradullmoment99 not sure if related but a lot of delivery companies near me have gone bust.

We live in lincolnshire and post here is very slow, Amazon post is awful here! Rural lots of lanes and farms down dirt tracks, awful amounts go missing (we’ve had post dumped in a hedge, found by a local business). But surprisingly the toast Royal Mail is here within 2 days much of the time.

I’ve just had my kindred gift delivered, I’d ordered Monday afternoon, shipped same day and arrived with me Wednesday last week.

the patch skirt is stunning, I wore it with tights yesterday and the square collar cardigan (amazingly soft for cotton). Will also pair well with lighter summer tops.

the kindred gift was a little basket … very sweet, but not sure how I’d use it.

what's everyone wearing in this increasingly varied weather ??

Countmeout · 07/03/2024 08:01

Royal Mail is quite slow, it’s the time it takes for it to actually get to them from Toast that holds it up. Mind you I don’t think many places are that quick. I ordered last Saturday and it’s coming today (hopefully). I’ve never used Evri for Toast @neveradullmoment99 I think £6 delivery is dear for them. I’ve used DHL once or twice if I wanted something quicker but DHL has for some reason become a bit unreliable at times around my area.

@Firesideknitting this week I’ve worn the crinkle pinafore with an old cotton not quite a polo type neck top, indigo Alix with long sleeve cotton top and Mira sweater, yesterday was the bud check dress with a Seasalt cardigan. However I’ve put a pair of leggings ( turned up to be invisible) underneath the dresses and have not given up my long puffa. It’s still quite cold here. How about everyone else?

I don’t think I like that T-shirt shape either @Theteapotsbrokenspout . Are the striped linen trousers thick linen or very thin ?

Looking at the green stripe dress on an instagram post by style in the stix it’s going to be down to my toes . Will report back later

@Firesideknitting So glad to hear the success of the beautiful blue patchwork skirt,it was the standout piece for me when I had a quick scoot around my local store . I love the top as well but not worn together.
I think I’ll order it as I’m not enjoying said store at the moment.
Is the waist very tight ? I like the waist to be on the loose side to avoid bunching .

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 07/03/2024 09:43

@Countmeout It's quite a thin linen, but I think structured enough to hold its shape (if that makes any sense). The matching boxy shirt is coming tomorrow.

I’m a 14 and normally with toast I could size down, this skirt not a chance, it’s not snug but I couldn’t put any weight on with it, the 14 I bought is fine, but it’s a little tighter than I expected. Hope that helps of some sort

yes I liked the too too, but not sure if I’d get much wear from it, so I just went for skirt and a cardigan…

LightandBreezy · 07/03/2024 10:28

Hello, I hope you don't mind me popping in for some advice - I've never actually bought from Toast before, I just covet things, wait for a sale and then miss them 😅I've become slightly obsessed with this jumper - has anyone seen it in real life? Thoughts? https://www.toa.st/collections/womens-knitwear/products/space-dyed-hand-framed-sweater-green-multi
I'm not sure about how pronounced the yellowish element is IRL - I'm fairer than both models with a pinker undertone to my skin - I can wear some greens and turquoise, but not really yellows and browns . Plus it's very expensive and I really shouldn't, so any advice on when the next sale might be too would be helpful! Also fallen in love with these https://www.toa.st/products/steve-mono-artisanal-pumps-tan but there are no pictures of them on feet and I'm terrible at judging what shoes look like on. I probably just need to go into a store really.

This is exactly it! It's not the time to go through post, it's Toast getting it to the courier! The Evi £6 usually comes next day for me. Not lst time. 4 days!
I wore my denim pinafore yesterday! Delighted with that. Looking forward yo my linen tiered dresscoming tomorrow!

TosstTastic · 07/03/2024 12:22

What am I wearing? I'm bloody loving these trousers. Yes, it's a little bit inner clown, yes I look like a chef on split shifts but the material is amazing. Seems to transcend the seasons

Waves at @LightandBreezy I love that jumper but haven't seen it in real life yet.
There was some discussion awhile back about the price tag which is the only thing holding me back. A few posters helpfully explained what hand framed meant.

Not sure with the brambles and mud it would last long iny garden.
