My first order from the latest additions arrived yesterday.. the stripe organic cotton tunic dress in olive, which is a beautiful poplin in a medium olive colour.
Unfortunately it's much straighter in fit than I realised, the first photo on the website shows a flared shape, but on me it's definitely a tubular fit, I'd look better with it belted as I'm a slight hourglass.
I was recommended a medium but may try a large. I'm 14.

My other order was the swingy linen stripe boxy shirt in medium, which is lovely and soft to wear. Despite the boxy description its slightly flared which I prefer, having hips 😄I will also wear it as a summer jacket over various Toast linen dresses.
The sleeves are cut rather wide, but I folded them up on the cuff and I preferred that look.
I'm still waiting for the rounded linen dress in puck.

I'm very pleased that autocorrect didn't kick in on that colour description.

Has anyone noticed that some of the new items have videos in the description pics?
I really like this, good to see movement and drape.

Those trousers look perfect @faustina . I like them turned up.

@AvaGardens my tunic dress isn’t dispatched yet but I’m surprised about it being so straight, as you say it looks slightly flared in the pictures. Glad to hear the colour and fabric are good.. I’m off to look for the videos.

@AvaGardens thank you for the info on the videos, just had a quick look, can’t believe I hadn’t noticed.

Is that the olive boxy shirt? I’ve ordered the trousers, I did wonder about the shirt as well.

Countmeout · 04/03/2024 09:12

@AvaGardens @Theteapotsbrokenspout can you link me to the videos please, I had a look and can’t see them.

Sorry for rubbish spelling, in car.. not driving, passenger 😅

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 04/03/2024 09:40

Yes, that’s the one I’m thinking of @AvaGardens . I didn’t order it with the trousers as I was worried they would look like pyjamas together, very tempted now as it sounds very useful.

Countmeout · 04/03/2024 10:13

Thanks @AvaGardens @Theteapotsbrokenspout . See a couple now.
The boxy shirt could be worn over a T-shirt to look less pyjamie. I think the shirt and trousers are lovely. I don’t think it looks as much like pyjamas as the floral top and to me that does look like pyjamas.

@AvaGardens - thanks for the video information - I had also missed them. It's a very good idea! Has anyone received the chambray shirt yet? It's on my wishlist and would love to see how it looks in real life

Has anyone bought this cardigan? Is it worth the £££

I take it this is not a popular choice?

@canina I haven't considered it myself, but it looks nice. I don't buy wool items from Toast as I can get high quality locally here (Scandinavia), but in my experience, with wool you get what you pay for, and I think that is not a bad price for the product.

Countmeout · 04/03/2024 15:06

@canina i only have cotton mix cardigans and s very old one that feels like lambs wool to me. I have cashmere mix jumpers which I do like but need regularly deballed.

Love the brown top with your skirt @sonjadog . Lovely outfit. Is the top Toast too?

@Countmeout Thanks! The top is from an Etsy seller. I buy quite a lot on Etsy. They make to measure and often use natural fibres, which I like. Also, there are a lot of women with small businesses on there that they have alongside their family life, and I like to support that. :-)

OftenOrange · 04/03/2024 16:26

@canina I see it’s the wool cashmere boxy cardigan; I don’t have that colour but have the same from a year or so ago in a mustardy melange sort of colour.
It’s turned out to be a really useful piece , I got over my initial disappointment that it pills like mad because the pilling is so easily removed, and also it’s delightfully soft and cuddly warm.

It’s a great shape over dresses as well as with trousers and has more than repaid the price in terms of longevity. If you don’t have that shape or colour in your wardrobe I’d say it’s a good buy.

canina · 04/03/2024 17:59

Have ordered it along with the nasturtium watering can which I'm very much looking forward to. Hope the wool won't be too itchy 😁

OftenOrange · 04/03/2024 20:24

@canina The wool of mine is so soft and a pleasure to wear , do let us know when they arrive !

Dee1224 · 05/03/2024 08:22

Morning all. Just to let you know that there are a lot of events coming up in March. I have just signed up for the free Kindred sewing event.

Kindred members should be getting an email, but details are also listed under Events on the Toast website.

Sooverthemill · 05/03/2024 09:34

Popping on to tell @faustina that I love le bon shoppe and ordered the Arc in Olive at the weekend but not arrived yet. I have their balloon pants and wear them all the time, so comfy and also many pairs of their socks. I use teaandkate usually to make my purchases which is another small concept store in Felixstowe this time with excellent customer service.

Countmeout · 05/03/2024 09:37

Saw that shirt @Theteapotsbrokenspout . Lots of £££££££. But I love the embroidery on it.

I am copying @sonjadog today and wearing my green/brown Maeve sale summer dress with a top over it! I really need a nice fitted jumper or top to make this look work, but the swingy skirt is giving me much joy this morning. I tried putting a tee underneath but the ones I have are too bulky with collars, and look weird.

@Countmeout and @Theteapotsbrokenspout - that shirt is absolutely beautiful!

I have made a couple of disastrous Toast eBay purchases recently and have subsequently banned myself from more buying for the moment as it’s all adding up. (I need to save myself for the next sale😹)

MiracleToast · 05/03/2024 10:31

@Theteapotsbrokenspout oh my goodness it is so so beautiful, but absolutely out of reach 🥲
