Yes I think the weight may be a factor, also the print. I have a poplin nightdress in plain navy from quite a few seasons ago and I always feel it looks sort of worn in a way the other things don’t.

Alpacasoft · 01/03/2024 18:21

I love Poplin and have had zero issues washing
If it's plain I iron inside out DH does to avoid iron marks

Alpacasoft · 01/03/2024 18:23

Oh I give up
DH does the ironing!
No idea what happened there

canina · 02/03/2024 14:33

Has anyone bought this cardigan? Is it worth the £££

I’ve ordered the Oil Cloth Barrel Leg Trousers, Olive Linen Stripe Pull On Trousers, and the Wood Ash Waistcoat.

I wondered about the Stripe Linen Shirt that matches the trousers but I’m thinking it may end up looking a bit pyjama-ish.

I also want to order the olive oil shorts but last year I found the sizing dreadful, the M too tight on the waist but the L was too big all round.

neveradullmoment99 · 02/03/2024 16:11

My gorgeous pinafore came. Absolutely perfect fit. Really pleased.

OftenOrange · 02/03/2024 17:01

Utterly disappointed with the latest offerings, I went to my local store and there was nothing to please . Having said that I’m p’d off with them anyway because the Menswear occupies the front and better half of the shop , so the selection of Womensear always seems stingy .
I had high hopes and was in the mood for something colourful t shirt wise , but the general ethos wasn’t at all uplifting .
The hedgerow dress is very pretty , especially in orange, but I don’t wear florals .
So glad to have acquired some great things in the past few Seasons .

OftenOrange · 02/03/2024 17:21

After having moaned about this Season, I’ve remembered that there was one thing that I loved , the patchwork skirt is really lovely . I didn’t try it yet, sometimes the elastic waists can be a bit bunch , so hoping this will be give a good line.

@neveradullmoment99 Which pinafore did you buy , I’d love to know more !

OftenOrange · 02/03/2024 17:41

Here’s the skirt I liked .

I'm not hugely keen on the current drop but am intrigued by this dress. Like the look of the pull tie at the back. Has anyone ordered anything in the 'Wood Ash' colour yet?

I also like the look of the Drawstring Waist Raft Stripe Skirt in Redcurrant/Ecru. It looks light and cheery, perfect for hot summer days ... but not sure we get enough of those in my part of Scotland to justify the purchase ...

@whinsome Just ordered the waistcoat top, but I don’t expect it will arrive before Wednesday.

whinsome · 02/03/2024 18:16

Brilliant - looking forward to your thoughts on the shade :) - the waistcoat looks interesting also.

MsDastardley · 02/03/2024 21:06

Well I’m feeling fed up. Waited in for my delivery today. A couple of minutes past deadline I got an email to say it had just been delivered. Signature is a squiggle and no name. I live in a cul-de-sac and didn’t see a van.

I’ve contacted Toast and they said I need to wait ten days before I can claim it’s lost. In meantime contact local delivery office.

l’ve checked with neighbours, checked bins etc, but no parcel 😥. I’m hoping the delivery person got fed up and decided to take it back to the sorting office as it was near the end of their shift. Not holding out much hope though. The item is oos, and I was looking forward to receiving my first Kindred gift!

I’m double fed up. My Sweaty Betty order arrived later (very quickly with Evri). My favourite bra has been completely revamped and I don’t like it all. Looks like I am wear a breastplate. Now need to find a new sports bra style.

I'd love the sweet little top that is floral under it but unsure of the size. Also, I don't tend to wear blouses like that but I love the look of it under the pinafore.

OftenOrange · 02/03/2024 23:06

@neveradullmoment99 Yourvpinafore is fabulous, I love their denim pinafores and am amazed how they reinvent itt each season , always highly desirable !

If you do go for it I would size down. I ordered it in the 18 and need to go down to a 16. I haven’t reordered yet because I’m waiting to see what else new is coming. I would say though that it is not as bright as the web images and much more 70s irl.

Qweesh · 03/03/2024 08:27

@Alpacasoft re the Steve Mono. The True Fit sizing thing hasn’t kicked in yet and it told me to order 40 in the Fracap Ankle Shoes which was spot on.

I was waiting for it to appear but impatient me spoke to chat yesterday who said if I’m a 6 I should order a 39; so I have but in the sandals not the pumps (I want both but ordered a smaller size in the Marigold dress so they’ll have to wait).

I’ve put them on Express so they should be here Tuesday latest.

Countmeout · 03/03/2024 09:33

That pinafore looks lovely @neveradullmoment99 . It does look nice with the blouse too. Worth a try.

I thought that skirt was beautiful @OftenOrange .I also love the detail on the matching blouse.

@MsDastardley was that Royal Mail? Did they take a photograph? I only saw it when I clicked on something . I got a photograph with a Royal Mail delivery the other day which is unusual for my Royal Mail delivery but they had left it at the front door ( usually I see the usual postman coming and have the door open to take it and make pleasant chit chat to cover the embarrassment of yet another Toast parcel) . That is very annoying. Is there another address similar to yours nearby? That happened to my daughter they left it at the correct number but at another street obviously had signed it themselves ( but it was DHL) as they must have got fed up looking for the right address.

Re the waistcoat, if you look at the lookbook you can see the colour comparison with the cotton linen wide leg trousers which are Parchment. It’s creamier @Theteapotsbrokenspout @whinsome . I can wear Parchment or Chalk but not a creamier shade so the waistcoat is possibly off my list.
I want those olive oil shorts too @Theteapotsbrokenspout but I’ll have to wait until next month. I tried on the spacecheck ones from last year last night and hope they’re similar sizing. Meanwhile ordered the organic cotton tunic dress and the half sleeve lounge tee.

Has anyone got the wee paper leaflet they send out that arrived this week? There’s a linen wrap jacket that looks interesting not yet online that I can see. It’s shown with a dress in the same colour Amber, can’t identify it online either.

@canina

I have one from a couple of years ago when it it was £195 & I picked up one in the sale last year for £125. I love them & they get a lot of wear, so they have been worth the price for me. Very soft, a good shape & manageable bobbling. This year's pale colour wouldn't work as well for me as the charcoal one I have so am holding off. Still on my wishlist though!

MsDastardley · 03/03/2024 10:03

@Countmeout Yes, it was Royal Mail. No photo unfortunately. No address similar. They definitely didn’t come up our road yesterday, I was waiting!

OftenOrange · 03/03/2024 10:05

@Countmeout I did see the waistcoat yesterday but can’t recall the tone of ecru or cream. It looked quite sporty with the pockets across the front , and a relaxed fit .
I also avoid cream but suit chalk and ecru . Yet when I was younger with much darker hair all these light neutrals drained me, I’m amazed that now that everything of me is beige that beigey colours suit me more.
