I spent £300+ this week and sold about £118, which will be less after fees.

Just done a search on 'gorgeous' on ebay and found all sorts of things that do not look remotely gorgeous. Matalan or Primark dress? New Look t-shirt. There's a Margaret Howell dress but the gorgeous puts me off bidding because it isn't gorgeous.

There are also 'Gorgeous flattering' clothes listed for 99p.

Melin Tregwynt is one of my favourite shops, it has a great cafe and the beach down the road is glorious. Well worth a visit @applecatchers36 . I went to a talk on the history of the mill recently and they said they like collaborating with Toast because they credit them. And it seems it has worked in spreading the word. Sadly, @Brackenfield the outlet side in Llandeilo closed about a year ago, replaced by menswear.

Ah that's a shame re the outlet!

HoldingOnForAHeron · 10/12/2023 16:14

I think you might as well pay the £80 if you really love it because you won't get the same cut in that fabric elsewhere, but it does seem £££ for a t-shirt.

This one doesn't have the same neckline

MiracleToast · 10/12/2023 16:28

@HoldingOnForAHeron any advice on sizing for these?

AmethystMoonShine · 10/12/2023 16:30

@Snowyowl78 I have about 4 of those tops and have picked them all up in sales. Usually around £50. I’ve never found anything that matches them and they wash and wear so well.

AmethystMoonShine · 10/12/2023 16:32

@Snowyowl78 forgot to say I got a jigsaw version which was cheaper but the quality isn’t so good. I say that because it’s gone all fluffy and bally inside when I washed it 🤨

MiracleToast · 10/12/2023 16:45

@AmethystMoonShine what is the sizing like for these, please?

HoldingOnForAHeron · 10/12/2023 17:19

@MiracleToast , no idea, I only found the site because I did a search on wool-blend t-shirts

MiracleToast · 10/12/2023 17:20

@HoldingOnForAHeron oh sorry I meant the toast ones!

HoldingOnForAHeron · 10/12/2023 17:36

Never mind. My links support my 'get the toast one' post.
I can't abide tencel and similar, so a merino one would suit me better.

AmethystMoonShine · 10/12/2023 19:06

I have a M and am a high street 12

MiracleToast · 10/12/2023 20:12

Thanks @AmethystMoonShine

Snowyowl78 · 10/12/2023 22:32

Eep! Maybe I’ll have to bite the bullet and get the real ones

Snowyowl78 · 11/12/2023 09:18

@MiracleToast ive tried them before, they are small and tight, they’re meant to be as under layers. So as a 14 I would have Large. Unless the sizing has changed! I hope not.

Snowyowl78 · 11/12/2023 09:19

Thanks @HoldingOnForAHeron and @AmethystMoonShine i have the stripy one from Vinted. I want a navy or black. I’m not sure I’ve seen them in sale, maybe this time!

Countmeout · 11/12/2023 09:28

Just watch the sizing if they are the new sizing. I recently bought a boat neck tee. The sizing has definitely changed. The same size as my previous one is much smaller.

How many of you live and shop in London?
i just visited my son at the weekend as he’s just moved back there
He lives in Battersea and reckoned the shop in Chelsea, Kings Road, was the nearest so we went there
Ive never been so disappointed
Ive been to Toast shops in Cheltenham and Bath and loved both of those
The Chelsea shop had hardly anything in and there were none of the dresses and tops I wanted to try …..just so that I can plan for what I need in the next big sale
Which are the best Toast shops in London

I think Mayfair is your best bet in London, very near Bond Street Tube. The assistants are lovely and it seems well stocked. And there’s a Toast in Marylebone High St just a 10 minute walk away.

alliscalm · 11/12/2023 12:49

Islington is good, too. And Ottolenghi is almost opposite. The takeaway salads and pastries are amazing.

Countmeout · 11/12/2023 13:47

I don’t live in London, butI know what you mean @Nanasueathome as I was there recently , but I think if you ask for something they may often have it in the stockroom .

applecatchers36 · 11/12/2023 14:11

Notting hill is also good, large and well stocked

OftenOrange · 11/12/2023 14:25

@Nanasueathome Shoreditch has more stock than Islington and is more spacious , you can whizz between the two on the Overground line from Highbury and Islington.

yesbutnobut · 11/12/2023 14:36

Notting Hill is the largest and best stocked Toast branch I've been in. Marylebone High St is tiny and doesn't have a great deal of stock. It's similar to Hampstead and Islington.

Nanasueathome · 11/12/2023 14:40

Thank you all for your help
my son last lived in London around 7 years ago so I’ve got a lot of catching up to do re the shops
Im back home now and won’t visit him again until February
i do know that I’ve got Toast gift cards again for Christmas so will wait for the online sale now
The toast shops recommended seem much better than the Chelsea one. Maybe I was just unlucky
