So most of my sale stuff is going back, a first for me. I don’t know whether it is because i have already bought all of the bits I love or the glass is slightly fading on my Toast love, or a bit of both, probably the latter.
The denim jumpsuit in 10 and 12, both fit but too bulky and cut revealingly at the top for me to be wearing in weather that allows for strappy tops. The cotton linen peacoat in a small was still very oversized. I would have kept it if i had loved it more but it didn’t wow me and perhaps the current cold snap isn’t the best weather for trying it on.
The random rice spoon i bought for my daughter is going back: not great quality and does she really need another rice spoon…?!
I kept the Flora Check Seersucker dress in a 12 after deliberation and having tried a 10 too. Both fitted but I preferred the looser sit of the 12 on top but will probably need to get it altered to remove a bit of the volume in the back. At £55 and a beautiful dress, I think it worth it though.
I also kept the Garment Dyed Pinafore Jumpsuit in bottle green in a large. A preposterously generous size for my neat 12 frame but you really need to size up just to get the bust size in, even with a moderate boobage (and having had a breast reduction): crazy. Again, I may get it slightly altered, pulling up the straps a little so that it is less skimpy on the back and around the arms.
I am also sending the Dip Dye Silk Dress in green back. It is too big and too flimsy for me.
So, an odd sale, not much ‘new’ stuff in it, plenty of rehashing of past sales. Toast, give us loyal customers a sale with impact (and a 20% off as a sweetener for spending literally £1000s with you each year).
In other news I popped into the Margaret Howell sale shop on Margaret Street on Thursday and picked up a couple of cashmere beanie hats (£40 each) and some wool gloves. There were other things to tempt me, including a wonderful wool kilt but it was still £375 and so I passed in the end.
Hope everyone else is enjoying their sale purchases or living vicariously through the joy of good Toast buys on here.
