Has anyone purchased/ tried on this one? Similar to the pond which I did try on at the sample sale and liked but already had my other 3 things and didn't want to buy summer stuff.

Love the colours.

Aaaah found you!
Had a phone detox and did a massive house and clothes tidy up,also plenty of socialising in the pre,pre Christmas madness.
Time to wind down a bit now.

I've lost a good couple of stone also and now some of my much loved clothes don't fit.
Decided selling sooner while I can get a good price was better than later when they are no longer in stylegulp
Have made a small fortune selling so very happy.
Sale wise I ordered the Organic denim dress in clay in a 10 and a 12.
Kept the 12 as I wanted a loose oversized look, very simple, soft denim and will get lots of wear either in summer or layered in spring/ autumn.
If you liked the denim drawstring dress or the drawstring collar dress you will like this.
I'm thinking Jackie O huge sunglasses, sandals and a straw bag.
I also ordered and kept the bitter chocolate shorts, perfect style and length .
Oh dear the clown collar shirt was a complete disaster !
Just awful.
Back it went.
Other than that am going to tackle Latvian Braid in the knitting stakes and wait for the Christmas sale.

@Alpacasoft I love the Clay utility dress too , so happy I took the chance . I tried it with a scarf in the neck which looks good .
Also agree on the Pierrot collar being horrid , such a bad all round design .
I have a huge pile to return to store tomorrow , considering dividing between two stores to reduce embarrassment !

TerrierOrTerror · 03/12/2023 20:47

No purchases for me this sale. I was tempted by a pair of shorts but then realised I wasn't tempted by them in a previous sale so likely just scratching an itch.

I have a list of items I'd like in a "proper" sale so fingers crossed that materialises.

I really wanted to like the Walnut dress but unfortunately the colour was just too yellow toned for me.
This is a similar style so I'm very pleased, I call the colour milky tea 😂

@Alpacasoft please can I ask what you did to lose weight so successfully? I need to shift a stone - I feel so stodgy, lacking motivation and my Toast clothes don’t fit. I exercise regularly but something more drastic is required. Thinking of the 16:8 fast.

Noodle421 · 03/12/2023 22:42

@Countmeout thanks for the new thread. There was very little that appealed to me in this sale ( thank goodness) except for the navy boy T which has been on my list for some time - a useful addition to my wardrobe. Thanks @Saurus ( I think) for alerting us so swiftly - I managed to nab one before it sold out in my size.

Redandblue11 · 04/12/2023 07:54

Good morning! I occasionally have a peak here but don’t post (regular somewhere else).
Can anyone advise on the toast swimwear? Specially on the fit of the swimsuit? Most swimsuits are a bit qshort on the torso for me (size 10, straight up and down). Are they true to size?
Also tempted about the bikini but that should be easier on the fit.
any other opinions on them also welcome 😀
thanks toasteis

OftenOrange · 04/12/2023 09:46

@Redandblue11 I just got a couple of bikinis ( high waist bottoms, cross back top) in the sale and the fit is perfect if you know your ‘Toast’ size .

Redandblue11 · 04/12/2023 10:06

Thank you @OftenOrange , that is my issue I do not know my toast size, I have the feeling it runs a bit big in general? I only own a floaty top size s from toast.
I am quite flat chested too so trying to work out if they will suit me.

No1Mousie · 04/12/2023 11:40

TOAST parcel arrived on Friday, and thanks to being grounded by horrendous weather I was able to spend some time trying things on. I’ve kept the Firth dress which I will shorten, and a couple of jersey tank tops for next summer. I’ve also kept the colour block poplin dress which I didn’t expect to, as I thought it would totally overwhelm
me, but it was just really nice on.

Sadly the ink/stone trews went back, I looked as tho I was wearing an enormous nappy 🤷‍♀️ and also the sweatshirt with the collar - what is going on with TOAST collars at the mo?! It was just so large and exaggerated. Perhaps if I had a longer neck and less square shoulders it might work, it’s a pity as the fabric was lovely.

Bit of a meh sale to be honest - here’s to the Christmas one!

OftenOrange · 04/12/2023 11:41

Just packing the sale rejects and have decided to keep a few more things. The citrus dress is really flattering and a great price,I haven’t worn a bikini for 20 yrs so give it a go, the shorts will be useful in hot French Summers .

The reject pile is now off to the store ?

Keeping the Sun Dress Black Coffee as it's flattering and I don't have anything similar. Will need to shorten straps a bit.

Two other linen dresses are going back - Tangerine Boat Neck is the wrong shade for me and the Easy Dress in Black Coffee is nice but not special enough to earn a place in the wardrobe.

That's the sale done for me.

microbius · 04/12/2023 12:32

@Redandblue11 Hello red! Also not a regular here, but I have an insight for you. I bought the cross-back bikini bra last summer, it is perfect! I got a 10. [you saw me, I am small-chested but tall with a wide-ish back]. I can fit in tops in 10, but not always across the back. So you probably could get away with an 8. [don't have the bottoms]

Redandblue11 · 04/12/2023 14:42

Thank you @microbius micro 😀

Dee1224 · 04/12/2023 17:15

Hi -@mizu I tried the green check trapeze dress in the summer sale in medium and it was far too big. Tried the small last week and it was far too small. Really hoping it’s wonky sizing, rather than my having put on loads of weight, (although I know I need to diet🙃)

Countmeout · 04/12/2023 18:02

Well I am in a very damp London. I am over the grey Donegal sweater, the neck is too high for me and the grey doesn’t suit me - knew it wouldn’t but still sad about it. I have amended my wish list . The crinkle pinafore is on it, this is lovely in person. The woollen Alix remain on it, just trying to strategically guess when to buy them and the pinafore. I don’t think they’ll be in the Christmas sale but who knows.
There wasn’t a green coat in either of the shops I visited.
The cream silk sleeveless tie neck top is definitely not my shade of cream.
I have put the velvet jacket and skirt on my wish list, one of the girls was wearing this and it’s tdf. I managed to buy a blouse, normally I can’t decide if I should or use Mail order but it will go with lots of my existing wardrobe so I think I’m safe enough.
My only sale success is a pair of Veja trainers that I am saving until summer as they are very white.

Well my final archive sale parcel arrived today and is going straight back. It was the mole coloured cashmere jumper - the colour was beautiful- I really struggle to find a neutral which doesn't drain me, but the shape was pretty unflattering with silly high side slits. Oh well. I have a nice new pair of clogs to wear when the weather becomes less arctic, and several excuses to buy something nice in the proper sale!

I also managed to find a brand new cashmere dressing gown (from Johnstons of Elgin) for only £125 which I am so so pleased with - it's made my early mornings much less freezing. Not quite as pretty as the old cotton velvet Toast gowns, but warmer, and not dry clean only!

HoldingOnForAHeron · 04/12/2023 19:46

Need to tell someone. I was watching a pair of Toast Jade boots on ebay and I won. So excited! Never thought I'd win.

Stoic123 · 04/12/2023 20:05

@HoldingOnForAHeron - hope you love them when they arrive

HoldingOnForAHeron · 04/12/2023 20:08

Thanks. They look new. I bidded more than I can afford but got them for £30 less than my bid so am thrilled.

Stoic123 · 04/12/2023 20:09

I put all my Toast decorations up today (the Kindred freebie garland last year triggered some Winter Sale purchases). They were even lovelier than I remembered. The mini bauble set is especially nice.

HoldingOnForAHeron · 04/12/2023 20:11

It sounds lovely @Stoic123 .

Dee1224 · 04/12/2023 20:33

@Stoic123 - sounds lovely!

I put my tree up on the 1st in a fit of Xmas enthusiasm. I then remembered to add my SM bargain baubles, plus my pop up purchased metal ones from last year! I wish I had got a paper garland whilst I was at SM last time.

Stravaig · 04/12/2023 20:36

Has anyone watched the Live with Nikki and Penny? Ostensibly about gifts, but lots of choosing clothes for each other. They're both so natural in front of the camera, and they have such a lovely, cosy dynamic together, just delightful to watch. 😍🤗 Please invite them back!

My only note would be to translate all the generic 'lovely' and 'gorgeous' commentary into more specific descriptors for those of us at home :D
