As in previous years, this a thread for those opening Beauty Advent Calendars not covered by specific calendar opening threads (though also happy for contents of those to be shared here too).

As previously, it will also be fun to hear about other calendar openings - food, jam, socks anyone?

Please do not include spoilers before 7am on the relevant day. Please also avoid dropping hints or spoilers about future contents if you have opened the calendar in advance.

I’ll be opening the Vogue and Selfridges calendars this year. Really looking forward to Day 1.

@viques no notebook . It was a gift, I will check again tomorrow. I would like to make notes of which scents I like. I burn Diptyque candles but stick with the same fragrances on repeat. Where was the notebook?

TheUnRed · 01/12/2023 01:10

SpaceNK was an excellent calendar one year as it introduced me to so many new products. So have fun with that one if you have it.

I think it came in the package, but my daughter was the one who bought it so I am not sure, it was in a (nice but useless ) little cloth bag,

I have Boots premium. Nobody else seems to have it so I'll be here

I have that one too. Pleased with box number 1

Meanoldlady · 01/12/2023 07:25

Picking up my Vogue one from post office this morning. Honestly, I feel a bit sick about the cost but I was obsessed with it. I made a deal with myself to list stuff for sale to make up the value.

I'm SO excited!

TragicMuse · 01/12/2023 07:26

I have Look Fantastic and Ciate.

Really pleased with the first Ciate colour!
And the LF one is a brand I have explored much so I'm happy with that.

My mum got me a Pukka tea bags one. I'm on that next!

Strawberryshortcake90 · 01/12/2023 07:48

Box 1 of Soap and Glory is a vitamin c sheet mask

TheDuchessOfMN · 01/12/2023 07:50

I also have Boots premium @OchonAgusOchonOh

Happy with the size of the huda beauty lip gloss (not sure if it’s called lipgloss these days) Grin Shade looks ok.

Excited to see what others get.

diamondsandrose · 01/12/2023 07:56

Clarins is a 50ml beauty flash balm. Big size ! Delighted. Not had this in years . It smells soothing and it's straight on my tired face

48wheaties · 01/12/2023 07:57

I have a jigsaw one too. It has 42 pieces per day, so you get a 1008 piece picture by the end of it! The pieces are number on the back, so in theory I can sort them back into their respective days and gift it to a friend next year (She has a different one, so we will swap)

The ubiquitous Augustinus Bader The Rich Cream in Harrods Day 1. I’m very happy with it as I really like it but it’s too spendy for me to buy regularly. Off to a good start.

Full size Dr Sturm enzyme cleanser in Space NK, really happy with that going in the queue to use. I really love the rich cream and the hyaluronic acid (when I’ve had samples of the latter as so expensive) so excited to try this.

Chickenwing2 · 01/12/2023 08:13

M&S has a clinique lipstick- lovely colour. Very happy!!

Baylis and Harding was bath soak crystals- meh!

Peridot1 · 01/12/2023 08:16

@OchonAgusOchonOh and @clary - one piece a day wouldn’t be very exciting!

My Bonne Maman calender gave me a mini pot of apricot jam which will be useful to use icing my Christmas cake.

Won’t open the jigsaw one till later but this is the picture. Reminds me of the lovely Georgian houses in Dublin. (And elsewhere obviously but I’m a Dub!)

Morning. After thinking till late last night that it was my first non-beauty advent for years, I was surprised with Anthropologie last night. Red nail polish this morning which will be donated to DD I think. It’s a cheery calendar although I broke the spine opening it.

I also have the most beautiful chocolate calendar from a European brand I discovered on holiday that you can buy through a chocolate website. It’s a small bar every day and this morning got caramelised nuts and nougat.

Enjoy, Diptyque people! I had it in lockdown when we could spend money on fun stuff to cheer us up more. 😃 It’s a gorgeous calendar.

mumonthehill · 01/12/2023 08:19

Ted baker was a small body moisturiser. Nice smell.

CordeliaNaismithVorkosigan · 01/12/2023 08:19

H&B was bath foam this morning - smells nice and I'll probably use it.

Stokey · 01/12/2023 08:25

Hello, I'm joining to live vicariously through you lot. Just Degusta for me this year. Got a tin of instant coffee which I won't drink but DH may.

snowfootsteps · 01/12/2023 08:26

Morning All.

By Terry Day 1 - a hyaluronic (8 types!) eye serum. Not particularly interested in eye serums but undereyes get dry in winter. 15ml is full size and normally retails at £52. Reviews on various sites are good. I'll start using this today and report results back in 24 days.

Peridot1 · 01/12/2023 08:41

@snowfootsteps - I don’t know about the By Terry serum you have but often people find hylauronic acid products drying as they need moisture - so if I am using a hylauronic facial serum I use with a mist to give it some moisture otherwise it just grabs whatever moisture it can so it can make your foundation feel and look flaky and dry. I mist, apply the HA and mist again. You might need a hydrating eye cream also if you find it drying. As I said I don’t know about that particular product but thought I’d warn you.

Can’t wait for 25; it is a huge box, hope it’s not all padding!

AprilLady · 01/12/2023 08:50

Day 1 Vogue is a very pretty delicate necklace.

Day 1 Selfridges is the Refy brow sculpt. Very happy with this as I’ve used it before and liked it.

That Diptyque calendar is lovely, enjoy!

@bigdecisionstomake I’m also a fan of the AB Rich cream, though I know many aren’t.

Looks like most calendars for off to a good start today.
