General “waifs and strays” beauty advent calendar opening thread

As in previous years, this a thread for those opening Beauty Advent Calendars not covered by specific calendar opening threads (though also happy for contents of those to be shared here too).

As previously, it will also be fun to hear about other calendar openings - food, jam, socks anyone?

Please do not include spoilers before 7am on the relevant day. Please also avoid dropping hints or spoilers about future contents if you have opened the calendar in advance.

I’ll be opening the Vogue and Selfridges calendars this year. Really looking forward to Day 1.

Day 10 Harrods fragrance

Xerjoff Starlight (15ml)

Overslept this morning so didn't get to open

Les Eaux Primordiales Superose (30ml)

Very very rosey. Bit chemical on first spritz but dries down nicely into rose, plum and vanilla. Like a fluffy blanket.

Retails for £225 for 100 mls

That sounds lovely.

Disappointing last day

Maison Francis Kurkdjian Gentle Fluidity Gold and Gentle Fluidity Silver (2 x 11ml)

Had samples of these previously and not keen. Retail for £175 each full size.

This is a scam - there was a thread about this site about a week ago. The calendar sold out a long time ago.

This is a Trust Pilot review of that site:

I saw that SpaceNK site on Facebook and was pretty sure it was a scam!

@Babysharkdoodoodood I love MFK Gentle Fluidity Gold - it’s actually the only MFK perfume I like.

I'm really pleased with the final two fragrances in the Harrods calendar today, particular the silver one. I was disappointed with the Superose yesterday and the Thameen Oud in day 10, but otherwise am really pleased with the other fragrances. I think the calendar is brilliant value for money and I really hope that they continue with it this year. I missed the email to say that it was going on sale online and by the time I realised it was available, it had sold out so I ended up having to go to the store to buy it. I was there mid morning on the day it went on sale and there were only a few left by that time. I hadn't been to Harrod's for years and used to love the shop, particularly the food hall and Christmas shop, but I couldn't believe how much it had changed and was so disappointed with my visit.

I'm definitely going to keep an eye out for it this year. Lovely calendar and I will repurpose the box without all the little boxes.
Probably for more fragrance.

😆😆 yes me too. I also had the Flannels fragrance cracker, which was another bargain.

Bummer! Looked fine at first glance. Hope no one's been caught out.
