General “waifs and strays” beauty advent calendar opening thread

As in previous years, this a thread for those opening Beauty Advent Calendars not covered by specific calendar opening threads (though also happy for contents of those to be shared here too).

As previously, it will also be fun to hear about other calendar openings - food, jam, socks anyone?

Please do not include spoilers before 7am on the relevant day. Please also avoid dropping hints or spoilers about future contents if you have opened the calendar in advance.

I’ll be opening the Vogue and Selfridges calendars this year. Really looking forward to Day 1.

Will be opening day 2's present at 7! Can't wait.

Was puzzled by people's Degustabox offer yesterday - turns out DH opened 12 not 1! 2 today is Baileys chocs mmm.

My home made is the gorge Liberty candle from last years rebought AC, lovely.

Not sure if anyone else is doing Jo Malone? Yesterday was Ginger biscuit Cologne, todays is White Moss & Snowdrop - very happy so far

My Bonne Maman offering this morning is a teabag of some description. Not sure what flavour. I’ll use it later.

I opened my jigsaw one yesterday not really knowing what to expect. I kind of thought it would be random pieces in each day’s box but it seems to be a section a day. So I got first section done. Busy today so probably won’t get to do it but will hopefully manage two tomorrow.

Day 2 of Harrods AC: Gison shampoo and conditioner. Hair products are my Drawers of Doom but I suppose I’ll give them a go!

Day 2 of Elle and a bit of a DoD as I don't get on with liquid eyeliner. DD will be happy to find it in her stocking though.

FB has just reminded me of my first ever beauty calendar. No7 9 years ago!

Day 2 of Vogue is Olaplex No 3. I use this, so not a DoD but not particularly exciting either.

Day 2 of Selfridges is a full size BS Clarifying serum. Quite excited to try this actually.

Here are the Harrods hair products. I agree @pepperaunt hair products are usually my DOD too but the brand gets good reviews and these are good sizes for a few days away so will definitely get used.

@lookingforMolly that was lovely of your sister. Sorry to hear you’ve had such a tough year.

Loving all the different calendar reveals. It does make me realise we are pretty fortunate in the U.K. to have such a fantastic range of calendars to choose from.

Day 2 of Boots premium is a Fenty lip balm. It’s nice but it’s a pity to get two lip products in two consecutive days. Aware that that’s a first world problem!

Today's mystery gift from my sister is: a tiny cloisonné black cat!!

I collect some cloisonné plus I love cats so it's perfect!!

Liking the things pps have found in their advent calendars.

H&B this morning is a little bottle of rosemary essential oil. I love rosemary but have to admit I don’t know what to do with this.

SpaceNK this morning is olaplex shampoo and conditioner (100ml each) which is good for me as I use them anyway and it’s an expensive habit! 🤣

By Terry Day 2 is a mini of their Hyaluronic Global face cream.Already have HGs for face - but I'll use it on my decolletage to try. Normal size is 50 ml and this is 15ml - worth about £15 (LF price). A bit of a DoD for me.

Happy with my M&S one so far.

Day 1 was a Clinique lipstick in a shade I would actually wear (result!).

Day 2 is a Percy & Reed hair volumising spray which looks promising.

Today in my refilled AC was olaplex no3 and some wine gums.

I was quite excited to get the olaplex in vogue today, I've not tried it before!

@lookingforMolly what a lovely thing for your sister to do!!! I have Next and LF, can't find a separate thread for these so hope it's ok to join in here. Opened doors 1&2 this morning as was poorly yesterday, v happy so far - Next was Aromatherapy Ass shower oil yesterday and an Inkey moisturiser today and LF was Elemis marine essence yesterday and a lovely Espa shower gel today. I'm actually not that much of a make-up/beauty person but treat myself to calendars as a one-off to find new things......the Elemis product is one I've kept using since last year's JL calendar and shower things are always welcome 😍

That is a beautiful gift I agree. Cowshed was a nice shower gel yesterday and candle today. We are in the middle of a rennovation and have limited space and I am working through a reduced stash still so clearing the decks for a more glam option next year. The Cowshed box is beautiful and I am enjoying that. Really interesting to see what everyone is getting. My daughter has a baby annabel doll advent and she got the second half of some doll christmas PJs that was very cute. Also a paper one for her and choc ones from M&S all round. Starting to feel Christmassy now
