General “waifs and strays” beauty advent calendar opening thread

As in previous years, this a thread for those opening Beauty Advent Calendars not covered by specific calendar opening threads (though also happy for contents of those to be shared here too).

As previously, it will also be fun to hear about other calendar openings - food, jam, socks anyone?

Please do not include spoilers before 7am on the relevant day. Please also avoid dropping hints or spoilers about future contents if you have opened the calendar in advance.

I’ll be opening the Vogue and Selfridges calendars this year. Really looking forward to Day 1.

I have the Bonne Maman and a Christmas jigsaw one. Not convinced I will get the 42 pieces of jigsaw made each day mind you! I usually make the edge first….

That's a big jigsaw! For some reason I thought it would have been a piece per day.

I have the bargain WS sock calendar for me, which I am going to open every two days. I also have the men’s one, which I am going to wave at DH and DS x2 at random intervals up to Xmas.

Clarins hasn’t even shipped and no apology from them either when I chased up - not impressed 😟

Clarins 24 day and DD has Glossybox

I have a unique one which is 2021 F&M box (so so pretty I couldn;t sell it as I usually do) filled with various random items from my stash. DD was laughing so much when she watched me do it. Hoping it will focus me on what I have tho and encourage me to use it.

M&S, Degusta and a sustainable natural beauty company called The Bath House based in Cumbria, Oh hubby has a Lego Star Wars! More excited about these calendars than Xmas gifts!

Oh we also have Degustabox. And some chocolate ones. And a Pokemon!

I love the idea of a jigsaw piece per day they would have to fit next to each other tho - also not much of a challenge!

I think I just assumed it was a small kids' one but yeah, it would be a bit crap😁

I have the OK advent this year. Quite excited as haven’t watched a YouTube unboxing for this so no idea what items are in what doors (haven’t even taken it out of the cardboard box yet). I did know the contents overall when I bought it but have forgotten most of it now, so hoping for a few surprises
Normally I have scrutinised the advents to the max and could virtually appear on Mastermind as my chosen subject so can usually remember most of the doors.

Gutted I didn’t get a chocolate one but after us spending nearly £300 on ACs I couldn’t justify another couple of quid 🤦‍♀️ but I’m secretly heartbroken and at 42 my parents have somehow come to this ridiculous conclusion I’m too old for a chocolate one and are refusing to buy me one this year!! Gits!!!

Fab. I have the Boots No 7 Restore and Renew one. Which I'm looking forward to opening and trying out.

I usually get a JL one but I'm happy with my skincare regime atm but still wanted an AC and haven't yet tried the R&R range.

Ah no it would be about all I am fit for in December! Actually I assumed there was a small individual jigsaw in each drawer which is even less exciting!

@SwordBilledHummingbird @viques me too! I’ve had the lid open is it a side aside thing in 2 layers or is there a way you are meant to stand it up?

I’m not sure. Took me a while to figure out how to slide the sides out. I think I will just keep it closed and only open it when I am looking for the next box! Am very excited, did you get a little notebook with yours, I was going to pass it on, but am keeping it as my bedside notebook.
