New thread, thanks for the brilliant title suggestion, as ever!

Is teal / petrol one of those colours that suits every skin tone? I’m a summer and my best friend is autumn and it suits us both so well.

love Sophie’s look!

I suppose that if the Wales children end up boarding then the school run won’t be an issue sooner than if they continued as day pupils.

Brazilianadventure · 30/11/2023 17:24

I thought the move to Windsor meant George could be a day pupil at Eaton.

Looking forward to seeing tonight’s dresses for the Royal Variety Performance.

SenecaFallsRedux · 30/11/2023 17:34

I thought Eton was boarding only, no day students.

LadyEloise1 · 30/11/2023 18:10

Oh my @justasking111
They are lovely

CliffsofMohair · 30/11/2023 18:28

CPV is just one furry hat away from this ensemble

KillingMeDeftly · 30/11/2023 18:32

I thought the same @CliffsofMohair. Or a Yeoman of the Guard!

gluenotsoup · 30/11/2023 18:35

So that’s what it reminds me of..

EmpressSisi · 30/11/2023 18:55

Catherine at the Royal Variety Show.

Gorgeous colour, gorgeous hair 🥰

this is all I can find of Victoria & Daniel at the Royal Variety at the moment.

DisforDarkChocolate · 30/11/2023 19:05

Gorgeous colour, gorgeous hair, shoulder pads that are like Spock's ears. WTF!!

Makemydaypunk · 30/11/2023 19:05

I don’t think the hair suits the dress, it looks all to busy and cluttered, big hair, high neck, earrings, necklace, (or a trim on the dress I can’t tell) her fringe is too heavy around the eye area, I think it would have looked better in a relaxed up do. Would have been nice to see a bit of sparkle on the shoes, they look like her normal boring day shoes.

Sidebeforeself · 30/11/2023 19:07

Oh I so disappointed. Agree completely re the shoes and the whole shape is just odd. Plus I am surprised she chose something in a shade next to the one her simple dress was

Sidebeforeself · 30/11/2023 19:10

However I love her hair . I also think that its not a necklace but embellishment on the dress? Is that right? She does look very happy though

mikado1 · 30/11/2023 19:10

A no to the shoes but otherwise I think it's fab! Much prefer that to the gold James Bond, which was so popular but not her at all IMHO.

Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstotheyard · 30/11/2023 19:11

She's had a tough couple of days. Maybe she wants her hair down to shield her face a bit. The press will be scrutinising her every expression extra carefully this evening. Possibly she's also trying not to dress too flashily, to avoid being told she is being a bit Marie Antoinette in the midst of a race row.

I think she looks wonderful.

DisforDarkChocolate · 30/11/2023 19:14

I hate it. The whole shoulder pad and sleeve combination looks ridiculous to me. I don't think the shape is flattering either, it's just too straight for her body.

Serenster · 30/11/2023 19:16

I love her dress and don’t mind the matching shoes. The “necklace” is a trim on the dress, and she’s wearing sparkly earrings and a big sparkly bracelet (costume jewellery I think, sadly) and a sparkly bag so the plain shoes are fine for me.

I too wondered if the hair down is a bit of a safety blanket. Though she’s wearing Safiyaa, which Meghan has worn in the past too, and looked fantastic in, so she’s not shying away from her detractors on social media (who will absolutely run with that).

AllTangledUpInTitlesAndTiaras · 30/11/2023 19:17

She looks absolutely gorgeous and dignified, as always.

But I cannot deal with those shoulder pads. She really does get on a track when she decides to go with something, doesn't she! It's like she'll choose an extreme silhouette and instead of just going with it once or maybe twice, which would be fine for the sake of fashion/trend, she'll commission what feels like 20 almost identical outfits.

Enough now, please.

Makemydaypunk · 30/11/2023 19:21

Agree Kate is having a horrendous time at the minute but I so wanted her to come out all guns blazing tonight giving the proverbial middle finger! but that’s not really her personality I suppose.

GrouchyKiwi · 30/11/2023 19:22

The sleeves are batshit and I am HERE FOR THEM. I love the colour. I think she looks gorgeous. Chronicling Kate has a really sweet photo of Kate with Wills.

CPV looks warm, so that is good. I like her minimalist necklace.

SenecaFallsRedux · 30/11/2023 19:23

I think she looks good as always, but I don't like those pointy shoulder pads; I thought they had a moment a season or two ago, but they just seem odd now. I also do not like her hair hanging in her face. I know middle parts are in fashion, but they are not my favorite.

ArcaneWireless · 30/11/2023 19:23

Gaun yersel lass.

Serenster · 30/11/2023 19:26

I don't think the shape is flattering either, it's just too straight for her body.

I think it looked better when she was standing straighter - like in this picture where you can see the curve of her waist,

Also, I happened on this picture too - it looks like a still from a hair commercial!

Maireas · 30/11/2023 19:28

I think she looks fantastic - it's a dramatic silhouette, and she carries it off well. I think she looks elegant and dignified and very stylish. I'm sure she'd much rather not be out and about smiling, but there she is.
