New thread, thanks for the brilliant title suggestion, as ever!

Not sure about Kate in IVH. Charlene maybe?

justasking111 · 28/11/2023 21:24

Jakers thought it was a Halloween picture 👻👻

Serenster · 28/11/2023 21:19

Judiciously chosen, maybe. Having said that, this one is not dissimilar to the day dress she wore to the Crown Prince of Jordan’s wedding…

That's the one Max is wearing upthread!

Serenster · 28/11/2023 21:37

Oh, it is too! 🤣

I was thinking of this one on Max, she’s worn it a couple of times.

That's quite a nice effect, the ripples.

Amazing dresses, the back is perfection

Just been watching Van Herpen account on Instagram. The videos are incredible the way the clothes move like floating feathers. Quite extraordinarily beautiful

N0tfinished · 28/11/2023 22:59

It's stunningly beautiful. I wonder if it's trompe l'oiel but it makes her figure look gorgeous

KillingMeDeftly · 28/11/2023 23:03

She's not royal but Gwendoline Christie looked majestic in this IvH a few years ago.

She's so tiny or he's tall. Love the coat

That coat is lovely, it looks cosy without being too overwhelming.

Oh that's amazing ! Not as keen on the blue though

Interesting little article about the Princess of Wales in today's Times:

The Firm is in trouble. Help is on its way! How Kate saved the royals

Max is also the only royal who can pull off an Iris van Herpern dress. Here she is with the designer herself and La Macron at the opening of the IVH exhibition.

Mme Macron looking decidedly underdressed besides these two

Alondra · 29/11/2023 08:46

Max dress is espectacular, one of the best evening ones I've seen her wear. What makes me chuckle is the mismatched styles in this picture. Ms Macron is dressed for a lunch in Paris, the woman on her left is wearing a pant suit for all ocassions, Max is dressed for State dinner minus tiara, and the woman on her right is giving an excellent Cher impersonation at the Oscars minus the headgear.

😁

LadyEloise1 · 29/11/2023 08:56

I fully agree @Alondra.
But who got it right for the occasion ? 😂

I think "Cher" is the dress designer

KillingMeDeftly · 29/11/2023 09:25

Yes, that's Iris herself. Def Cher at the Oscars in the 80s vibes but to be expected, considering her designs!

MotherofPearl · 29/11/2023 09:37

I can see that they're pretty dramatic, but I really dislike IVH's designs. Too fussy and busy for me; I prefer a sleek, elegant silhouette to all that volume and those different textures.

MotherofPearl · 29/11/2023 09:51

Sophie's in Colombia. I don't have a problem with her dress, but the black jacket is the wrong length imo (needed to be shorter) and the white shoes are, as all white shoes are, ghastly.

LadyEloise1 · 29/11/2023 17:52

I don't like Max's dress either, far too fussy for me.
And "Cher's" dress is far too circusy / stagey for me also.

I'm more Jean Muir or plain Cos with a bit of glitz from jewellery / shoes.

Eaumyword · 29/11/2023 18:04

Gosh, that's an eclectic collection of outfits! So true - somebody in that lineup is either overdressed or underdressed!🙈
Not keen on Soph's outfit I'm afraid.

gluenotsoup · 29/11/2023 18:10

I generally lean to the simple - but that dress!! Beautiful, it’s more art work than clothing. 🤩

MotherofPearl · 29/11/2023 18:14

Spanish RF at the opening of parliament. Both Leti and Leonor look great, especially Leonor.

I like Max's hair waved like this.

Yes, she does suit that
