New thread, thanks for the brilliant title suggestion, as ever!

Yes, and a simpler hairstyle, but a lighter blonde. Nice.

Those Mario Testino portraits! They were fantastic.

Maireas · 18/11/2023 17:09

They were, and such a strange twist that they were her final portraits and became so iconic.

Pics

Isn't this the one she got a bollocking from Margaret? As she 'upstaged HM' with her new hairdo debut?

Her style towards the end of her life was great - really sleek and chic with the shift dresses and Chanel suits.

She was in the prime of her life. She had found what suited her and was clearly comfortable in her own skin, as many women are at that age. I think that's what makes her death even more tragic.

Zara and Victoria. I don't dislike Zara's outfit but to me it looks a bit like a public school uniform coat and hat. It reminds me slightly of the one the girls from the foreign school wore when they came to Hogwarts to compete in the Triwizard cup.
There is also an article in the Mail about how Infanta Sofia has to wear flat shoes so she doesn't tower over her sister, the future queen.

Forgot to attach the pics of Victoria!

I like Zara's coat, especially the lapels, but I don't think the hat works. It doesn't match the black boots and bag or the coat, so just looks odd.

I can't decide whether CPV looks sensational or a bit tacky. I have a strong prejudice against animal-print, but I love a backless evening dress, so this dress is producing an internal tussle for me!

DisforDarkChocolate · 18/11/2023 21:41

I love Zara's coat. The hat, I agree, doesn't go.

KillingMeDeftly · 18/11/2023 21:47

I think Victoria looks good but Zara leaves me cold as always. "County" shudder!

Grin

I don't mind a bit of "county", or even "very county" but I don't care for Zara's hat, and agree that in general her clothes are pretty uninspiring.

justasking111 · 18/11/2023 22:12

Like the coat but the hat on this occasion is a miss

Gooseysgirl · 19/11/2023 08:35

Meghan.... I think she looks gorgeous! I can't see a problem with the dress at all. The change I would make is the colour.

Zara... not a fan of this look at all, it looks a bit last minute thrown together.

CPV... shape of dress lovely but I don't like the animal print at all.

I don't mind KM's CIN shirt... pity she didn't wear some Pudsey ears 😄 I totally agree with PPs regarding her hair. Needs to lose several inches, and ditch the big waves.... I prefer it about six inches shorter and a bit of bounce/wave in the ends.

Charlene and Caroline both looking great at a function in Monaco. Love Charlene’s red lip and Caroline’s brooch. Albert even looks dapper, though his wonky tie is annoying me.

Eaumyword · 19/11/2023 09:55

Char's hair looks quite 1920's chic there. I like it. Caroline looks good too.

KillingMeDeftly · 19/11/2023 10:10

Charlene's looks great but the ensemble is also a bit like something Dorothy from The Golden Girls would've worn to a soirée!

KillingMeDeftly · 19/11/2023 10:11

There's been a royal wedding! In Uganda, which I didn't even know had a royal family.

There's been a royal wedding! In Uganda, which I didn't even know had a royal family.

Was looking at the pictures on Instagram then lost them. His bride wore three beautiful gowns 2000 guests. The king did his masters in UK university. The bride is an accountant.

He's the king of 11 kingdoms.
There hasn't been a royal wedding since 1956.

Maireas · 19/11/2023 11:07

I like Charlene's look in that picture, very chic. Her hair is lovely and she can really carry off that strong red lipstick. Caroline looks nice too, and Albert definitely looks a bit sharper!
I had no idea Nigeria had a royal family either, @KillingMeDeftly !

OP posts:
Maireas · 19/11/2023 11:08

I meant to add, the Nigerian bride looks absolutely beautiful, what a stunning dress.

OP posts:
KillingMeDeftly · 19/11/2023 11:20

They're Ugandan rather than Nigerian but apparently there is Nigerian royalty too. I once worked with a Nigerian woman who claimed she was royalty!

Maireas · 19/11/2023 11:21

So sorry, my mistake - I was just doing some marking where Nigeria was an answer!
Uganda. Sorry.

The euro royals are really embracing coat season. Both Charlene and MT look great here. They're also the only two current royals I can think of who rock the short hair!
